Pro-life vid of the day: The Christmas truce
by Hans Johnson
On Christmas Eve exactly 100 years ago during World War I, soldiers on both sides paused hostilities to exchange gifts and play soccer. The greatest war in human history was being fought for the pettiest of reasons – more out of misunderstandings and “hurt feelings” than for any territorial dispute. But on one silent night, it was agreed upon to observe “peace on Earth”, if ever so briefly.
This dramatization is from Sainsbury’s, a U.K. supermarket chain, which is donating all proceeds from its chocolate to The Royal British League.
