Pro-life vid: Teen pumps breast milk for baby she placed for adoption
by Kelli
From the Alaska Dispatch News comes a story of selfless love. When 19-year-old Kaleena Pysher became pregnant her senior year of high school, she felt she could not parent her daughter and instead chose a family friend to adopt the baby. But her act of love went far beyond choosing the life she felt best for her daughter – Kaleena chose to continue pumping breast milk for her daughter every two hours.

love the positive adoption language.
“She heard that a family friend, a woman who used to babysit her, wanted to adopt with her partner. She lived Outside.”
I wonder if this is the new stylebook way to say things or is the woman and her “partner” unmarried? same sex? What are they trying to say?? And also I guess living outside means in the lower 48.
I didn’t read the part about the adoptive parents, so I’m not going to comment on that at this point. But I watched the video. I was much struck by this young lady’s generosity. To pump for her daughter, then to donate when her daughter didn’t need it anymore, that’s really impressive. Good for her!
Okay, I will be judgmental. Here is this sweet generous young woman. She seems like she would be a great mom. Why didn’t the family try to work with the young man involved so that they could get married? College isn’t easier if you are single. Young married people have so little earnings and income that they qualify for so many grants that college is almost free. And if they don’t want to go to college, life isn’t easier or cheaper when you are single. Our society is sick sick sick in the way it discourages marriage. A sweet dedicated young woman like this is ready to marry and keep her baby.
