News surfaced this week of the rejection of a pro-life student group on a Canadian college campus.

In yet another example of how Canada’s institutions of higher learning are becoming more hostile to free pro-life speech, University of Alberta students protested an upcoming pro-life display, featuring images of abortion victims, which was to be displayed in their quad. The main point of contention seemed to be that some believed the display could be upsetting to women who have had abortions or miscarriages.

One student even went so far as to say that she had an abortion and abortion is horrible, so women shouldn’t be further traumatized by having to actually look at it.

With all the hubbub about how the display might “infringe on students’ rights,” a gay pride parade was set to happen on campus simultaneously, and some students planned to block the pro-life display so the gay pride parade participants wouldn’t have to listen to the free speech of others, which might somehow dampen their festivities.

By the way – the Latin phrase on the University of Alberta’s seal, pictured above, means “Whatsoever things are true.”
