Pro-life vid of day: “Girls” star has no regrets about abortion
by Hans Johnson
Jemima Kirke of the HBO show Girls claims to have had an abortion in 2007 without anesthesia to save money. In the video PSA for the Center for Reproductive Rights, there are the usual moments of contradiction while pleading for cheaper, easier abortions. She says: “I wasn’t sure that I wanted to be attached to this person for the rest of my life,” (is she speaking of her significant other, or her child?) and concludes with her concerns for the rights of her daughters’ bodies, but has nary a thought about the body of her first child:

First in regards to her abortion, Jemima says, “because I couldn’t tell my mother that I was pregnant, I had to pay for it out of pocket.”
Later in regards to her abortion Jemima says, “I have always been open about my stories. Always shared them, especially with other women.”
You haven’t always been open about your stories. You didn’t share your plans to abort with your mom, Jemima. Why not?
Grandma would have offered Jemima love and support, and she would have done anything to try and save her grandchild’s life.
There’s just no room for this in the pro-bort narrative.
Abortion isn’t wrong because women regret it or don’t regret it.
Abortion is wrong because it ends the life of a fully alive and growing innocent human being.
Praying she find abortion recovery.
