Violations would carry fines from $200 to $2,500. After 3 violations in a 2-year period, a facility could be shuttered for up to 5 days.

… The CPCs advertise on websites and public transit and some post misleading signs, foes say, bearing such messages as “Free Abortion Alternatives.”

… “They target our health care centers, setting up across the street…,” said Joan Malin, president of Planned Parenthood of NYC. “They prey upon our patients.”…

It’s not our intention to put these centers out of business,” said Kelli Conlin, president of NARAL Pro-Choice NY. “Our intention is to simply say disclose who you are and let every woman who enters your door understand what your specific ideology is and then let the chips fall where they may.”

Under the measure, CPCs would have to post signs declaring there’s no medical staff present, disclose in their ads and websites they don’t offer abortion or birth control and ensure confidentiality.
