Stanek weekend video: Greater love hath no dog
Simon was not just “man’s best friend” to David Furukawa, he was the visually-impaired man’s guide dog. While they were walking his four-year-old son Will to school, a car ran a stop sign and struck the 80-lb. boxer, breaking his leg and causing internal injuries as he pushed young Will forward. Furukawa was also hit and rolled on to the car, left sprawled on the street with a broken elbow, knee, and heel.
Then, as witnesses rushed the boy back to his home, the dog limped after them, only collapsing after they arrived. While family members were transporting Simon to the animal hospital, he died.

Its incredible how we hear of family pets responding to medical emergencies and even heroics to save the lives of their masters.
We hear of schoolchildren who knew enough to call 911 and save someone’s life.
Family pets and children can immediately recognize an emergency and respond appropriately.
However, employees of a PP abortion clinic don’t have the brains to call 911 while a woman bleeds or deliberately understate the seriousness of an emergency to a 911 operator, after putting him on hold!
“Its incredible how we hear of family pets responding to medical emergencies and even heroics to save the lives of their masters.”
Immediately followed by:
“We hear of schoolchildren who knew enough to call 911 and save someone’s life.”
If I didn’t know any better, I would say you were including schoolchildren under the category of family pets.
Hi JDC,
No I didn’t mean it that way. If anything, I meant to give a great deal of credit to the children who’s fast thinking and action have saved lives.
I’m trying to point out that if family pets and schoolchildren can recognize emergencies and know how to react, why can’t the “professionals” in the abortion clinics?
Thanks, Mary. The more I read it over again, the less it sounds that way. Sorry for the silly comment.
Hi JDC,
Not a problem my friend :). I’ve misread people’s comments more times than I can count.
Okay, Mary. Glad to know everything is coll between us. :)
Watch the movie hatchi.
My fathers dog died the day after he did!
