Youth Rally at Aurora Planned Parenthood
I wasn’t able to attend the Teen Rally this past Saturday at the intended Planned Parenthood abortion mill in Aurora, IL, but our moderator MK did and sent this photo:
According to Families Against Planned Parenthood, about 500 youth and 250 supportive adults attended. Imagine that, the intended targets protesting Planned Parenthood’s destructive philosphy and business. There are also at least two YouTube videos….
[HT for videos: Chicago Pro-Life Activist, which also has several other photos posted of the rally.]
We’d all be interested in reports from the rally, if you attended. Please add a comment.

I think it’s great that so many young people showed up to protest a new death mill. I hope it never opens.
MK, that looks like a pretty big turn out. Any approximate idea how many were there?
I wonder if the death mill is still going to open before the investigation is complete……
I think that one woman was using the “stop sign” poster to shade herself from the sun.
Doug
“I think that one woman was using the “stop sign” poster to shade herself from the sun.”
LOL
LOL here too, Bobby. YeeHawwww….
Doug
I remember in the early days of legal abortion when those who opposed abortion were portrayed mainly as doddering old spinsters pushing 200 years old and Catholic clergy. Pro-life demonstrations supposedly consisted of “parochial school children” and “white haired ladies carrying roses”.
It would be hard for even our media to downplay this demonstration or stereotype the people involved. By the way, since the majority of the American people support abortion, where were the counter demonstrators? Have we seen demonstrations of this size in support of this PP clinic?
Mary, excellent point!
Jasper –
Didn’t the Pro-Life attorney’s get the opening stopped until the investigation is complete? Or am I thinking of something else…..
Doug –
I would say that the woman is shading her eyes from the sun so she can see, and not that she is keeping herself out of the sun. Considering about 90% of her is still in the sun.
However, that doesn’t change anything…. Just thought I would comment.
The woman shelters herself from the sun with her sign. I’ve fanned myself with the church worship guide. The significance is what?
Hi Mary. I think Doug just thought it was funny. I thought it was funny when he pointed it out. Not that there’s anything wrong with using a sign to shade yourself. Just kinda funny, like someone picking their nose during a presidential inauguration or something. I have the sense of humor of an 11 year old boy. Oh well. God love you, Mary.
Thanks Bobby,
I’m obviously missing something here but hey, enjoy humor where you can find it!
Doug,
I was there. It was waaaaay hot and there was NO shade…I wish I’d had a sign! lol
MK,
How about a church worship guide?
I give everyone there major credit! Hot day. They gave it their all!
Mary: The woman shelters herself from the sun with her sign. I’ve fanned myself with the church worship guide. The significance is what?
Mary, Bobby is right – I said it just to be humorously stupid.
At first one might think I was trying to make a meaningful comment, or point something out that really was an interesting observation.
Then the normal response would be something like, “Of course she is, you idiot.”
Hee hee hee.
Doug (Not always soberly serious.)
Although, now that I think about it, Zeke might call for that woman’s excommunication….
Doug,
Like I told Bobby, enjoy humor where you can find it. It makes life a lot more fun!
Now, I have to get back my family history scrapbook. Its so tedious its giving me restless body syndrome.
Doug,
Re:2:57PM post. Not to mention what should happen to me for fanning myself with a church worship guide.
“Although, now that I think about it, Zeke might call for that woman’s excommunication….”
hehe, I get it…
“By the way, since the majority of the American people support abortion, where were the counter demonstrators? Have we seen demonstrations of this size in support of this PP clinic?”
There’s no need for a counter demonstration, it would just encourage more of the pro-life crowd and perhaps generate a bit of media attention. Let the pro-lifers have their day in the sun, and soon the new clinic will open anyway. Why should supporters bother to show up when they’re getting what they want anyway?
Desecrating a church worship guide might get you burned at the stake…..hehe
Or maybe 40 lashes minus 1, if you tear the worship guide though its the full 40 for you…
;-)
Sure Hal, whatever. Tell that to the thousands who have shown up at PC rallies in Washington.
Mary, the show up at pro-choice rallies when there is a reason to. This thing isn’t on the radar, and the Pro-choice crowd is getting what they want without a demonstration. Demonstrations are for the side that thinks they’re at risk in some way.
Hal,
Demonstrations are for those who are at risk, so that explains the thousands of PC’s who have flocked to Washington demonstrations?
Its possible too Hal that there just are not a significant number of people in the community who support the PP clinic. Where were they during the council meeting? Certainly they would want to be heard, don’t you think?
“Didn’t the Pro-Life attorney’s get the opening stopped until the investigation is complete? Or am I thinking of something else…..”
yes, I think so Valerie. But the Mayor is pulling a fast (more info in the next thread). Initially he said there was no limit of time in the investigation, now he says that it has to be completed by Sept 12th, (because the occupancy permit for PP runs expires on the 18th)…
Hal, your crowd has gotten their way for the last 34 years. What good has abortion done??
Hal, the tide is going to turn. Th PBA ban passed, and your side was coming unglued! What for?
i’m not unglued about the PBA ban. It doesn’t stop any abortions, as has been pointed out on this site.
What good has abortion done? Plenty. Many women and couples have terminated an unwanted pregnancy and had children on their own timetable. And, although you hate to hear it, many people can have sex with less fear knowing there is a safety net if conctraception fails.
I don’t think you can dispute the good done by legal abortion. You can say the cost (“dead babies”) is too great to justify the good. But there is no doubt that legal abortion is a good thing. Remember,the choice is not legal abortion or no abortion. The choice is legal abortion or illegal abortion. There will be abortions for the foreseeable future, legal or not.
This doesn’t make sense. Supposedly the majority of the American people support abortion but PP must use deceitful measures to build a clinic in Aurora. There are no mass demonstrations supporting the clinic and only a few who speak up on behalf of the clinic at the council meeting. I would think PC people would be out in force. Certainly the local chapters of NOW or NARAL could rally some troops or find some supporters to speak at the council meeting.
Now there’s legal wrangling.
Couldn’t PP have simply announced their intentions and made sure everything was legal and proper? I’ve never seen building a veterinarian clinic or tattoo parlor treated with such secrecy or generate so much legal wrangling.
hal, you should go to the first post. I posted some “NEWS” under your no news is good news post.
Couldn’t PP have simply announced their intentions and made sure everything was legal and proper?
probably hiding from the crazy pro-lifers.
Hal, that’s not a fair statement, and you know it.
Hal,
That doesn’t answer the question.
probably hiding from the crazy pro-lifers.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
No kidding!
Can you imagine what kind of security they would have had to hire to complete the constrution? It’s tragic that law-abiding Americans have to hide from violent, destructive terrorists.
Jasper –
Thanks for the info…. I didn’t get caught up on all the reading before I posted! Ooops!
A part of me says that the secrecy is a bid odd, but another part remembers the paranoia behind the pro-choice movement. They have clinics that have “bomb threat drills”. Angus Reid Global Monitor had a poll recently that said the National Abortion Federation has said that more than 40 abortion clinic bombings have happened since 1977. That is 1.33333 bombs a year – did I forget to mention that some of those have no proof of a pro-lifer doing it? Actually, a good portion of the National Abortion Federations information on “extreme violence” by Pro-Lifers have not been resolved. Most are arson cases with no information. They don’t even give the city in which the “arson” happened. So you can’t even research it. As a matter of fact – they haven’t solved a case of “extreme violence” against an abortion clinic since 1999! Again, according to NAF there hasn’t been an abortion clinic/aborion provider shooting since 1998. The latest “violence against clinics” was in 2002. That was a series of Anthrax scares that started in 1998.
All this information is on http://www.prochoice.org which is the NAF website.
I figure that this information should be accurate since it comes from a biased pro-choice organization.
Laura,
That doesn’t answer my question either.
Mary, to answer your question, No, they must have thought they couldn’t do it all in the open or risk harrassment or worse from the anti-abortion crowd. I don’t really know, and can’t speak for them. They might have had other reasons.
All I know is that Northern Illinois is going to get a brand new health care facilty. That’s a good thing.
Hal, they are going to get a brand new death mill. It’s not a good thing.
MK,
How about a church worship guide?
That would have worked. Although, since this wasn’t a religious gathering but a civil one, there weren’t any…mores the pity. Heck, I was ready to pick up one of the three year olds to use as a sun screen!
You say “death mill,” I say “health care facility.”
MK –
“Heck, I was ready to pick up one of the three year olds to use as a sun screen!”
How many times do I have to tell you. Three year olds are way to heavy. Go for the 1 year olds! They aren’t as heavy and love to be thrown around like they are on a rollar coaster!
;-)
Heather, legal abortion has solved the Problem of the Black Market in Abortion Services, a dangerous social problem which killed an undetermined number of women before Roe/Wade.
I know I’ve pointed this out to you before. Do you have a problem with short-term memory, or do you just like to repeat discredited talking points?
SOMG, please post some stats. I need to see them to believe you anymore. Everything else you have posted is just bogus information!
