NOW skewers Kennedy
My, it was only yesterday that I posted NARAL prez Nancy Keenan’s plead for factions within the abortion cabal to stop verbally aborting one another.
Now comes this whopper of a rant, verging on hysterical, which doesn’t bode well for the group that tries so hard to be men, NOW.
And, strange that NOW expresses surprise at Kennedy’s abandonment of women. Leaving them to drown must not meet NOW’s criteria.
This really is a remarkable display of total loss of control, and Keenan saw it coming. Liberals, who always try so hard to put on a unified face, are fracturing. Click to enlarge:

“The group that tries so hard to be men?”
Speaking of hysterical ranting…
(speechless)
Is every member of the feminist world supposed to vote for Hillary just because she is a she? Aren’t women to be trusted? Are they not very bright and therefore need to be told who to vote for? If a “feminist” votes for Obama or God forbid, a republican are they less of women? Can you only truly be a woman if you do what you are told…
If they feel betrayed by a “man” voting for Obama, how betrayed will they feel when women do?
How many times have I heard that women are not uteruses? Yet we are supposed to vote for someone simply because they have breasts?
Hmmmm…
I think this is awful. I’m not up on Ted Kennedy’s track record, but is it possible that he doesn’t support Billary because he/she/they aren’t the best candidate(s) for the job? Jeez. Anatomy does not a voting decision make.
This is ridiculous…I consider myself a feminist (big surprise, right?), and I do not in any way support Hillary. NOW must REALLY hate me. :P
This sums up the whole Women’s Liberation Movement of the last 35 years. Hysterical in the true sense of the word.
I love how they equate an edorsement of Obama (who pretends not to play the race card…until he hits SC…) of being good ol’ white boys! LOL
It’s almost as funny as Bill Clinton trying to say his presidency ushered diversity into the White House even as Bush stands flanked by various cabinet members, such as Gonzales (well, that didn’t work out so well), Powell, and Rice.
I think NOW embodies their statement – imagine them as whiny two year olds throwing a tantrum. “I want it NOW!” At least that’s how I always picture them.
And seriously, do they think women are so stupid that we will vote for Hillary simply because she’s female? That us poor ignorant females can’t see past the gender divide, and that only a vote for an XX and not an XY shows support for women?
Sheesh.
I consider myself a feminist and I loathe Hillary. It would be a cold day in Hell before I would even remotely begin supporting her.
And quite frankly, if NOW doesn’t like me for that, I’m fine with that as I am not a fan of NOW either.
I was living in Albany when Marcia Pappas took over as leader of NOW-NY. She was hailed as a fresh voice and the person to bring NOW into the limelight.
They were right, I guess. ;)
I knew I didn’t like NOW and this really confirms it. Hillary has changed her position on many issues that NOW holds dear.
Aren’t you suppose to vote for a candidate based on what they stand for and now what sex or color they are?
This is why I dislike the liberal feminist organizations so much. They are a bunch of hypocrits. Is Ted suppose to support someone just because that person’s supporters supported Ted?
This sums up the whole Women’s Liberation Movement of the last 35 years. Hysterical in the true sense of the word.

Yeah, you can always spot those ‘libber chicks by their cropped hair do’s and the way they turn their back on their natural role as a homemaker in order to satisfy their thirst for political power and dominance.
Why can’t they just behave as helpmeets?

Jill-
I’m just curious as to why you’re so delighted about the “fracturing” occurring when just a few months ago there was “fracturing” occurring among the Pro-Life organizations. I’m not sure how that has resolved itself, but I do see it as analogous.
And for the record, I don’t recall PCers on here (except Laura/FetusFascist) gloating about the fracturing of the Pro-Life organizations. Correct me if I’m wrong. I just feel it’s kind of immature, but whatever floats-your-boat…

I wasn’t gloating, I was just wallowing in the irony.
I consider myself a feminist and I loathe Hillary.

If it came down to Hillary and Mike, I would be begging every person in the country to pick the Clintons.
If it came down to Hillary and Caligula, I would be begging every person in the country to pick Caligula.
Whatever happened to “CHOICE” ?
…ohhh..I get it..it’s only ‘pro-choice’ if they choose what you liberals want but not when people exercise their personal freedom to choose for themselves.
You would think that after overlooking a woman left to drown at Chappaquidick(sp?) and the paying of big bucks to spring his nephew from a rape charge, a charge stemming from a night of tomcatting with Uncle Ted, not to mention his other, shall we say, indiscretions, that feminists would have every right to expect Teddy to tow the feminist line. Ever hear of payback time?
This article also proves what I have long maintained, that for NOW the promotion of a political agenda has always taken precedence over protecting women.
I can tell you one thing for sure:
If Hillary or Ron Paul weasel their way into office I am moving out of this Country untill their reign of terror is over. And I hate Ron Paul more than her too.
Rae, just because I post evidence of the pro-abort fracturing does not mean I no longer acknowledge pro-life splits. You didn’t offer this criticism when I posted on the latter.
The fact is, we’re in a war of ideologies. When the enemy shows signs of weakening and stress, that is good and worth heralding.
Jill:
You should never hit someone when they’re down. It’s just not the “nice” thing to do.
Yeah, we’re pretty much fractured along a Hillary/Obama line. But luckily, that’s a little less fractured than the Republicans are at this point. We have three leading candidates. You guys have what, four or five? That’s good for us.
“We have three leading candidates.” –Eric
I suppose that’s a plus unless you’re the leader of lemmings. I would have thought that Senator Kennedy made his ultimate betrayal of women, courage, and class when he betrayed Mary Jo Kopechne leaving her to perish in a cruel watery death. But hey, Eric says that Kennedy is supporting one of the “leading” Democratic candidates. What does that say about the values and morals of Democrats?
It’s Erin.
@Jill: Ah, my bad. I thought since you hadn’t posted about it recently that the splits of the Pro-Life organizations have mended.
But see, the way I see it, when you were posting about the Pro-Life “fractures” you were doing it as a way to try to call for unity in trying to end abortion instead of polarizing and fracturing…your posts were more like, “Dudes…knock it off, we have the same goal, if we work together we’ll reach our goal, by splitting we’re only hurting ourselves.”
In your description of the splits among liberals, I see more of a “Ha-ha-ha-ha, let’s see that pro-abort scum FAIL! YAY!”
Hence the reason I didn’t previously criticize you as it was more of a positive spin on things when the fractures were happening in your own ideology.
The Kennedy’s are a disgrace anyways, they gave the sister of JFK and RFK, who was mildly mentally ill, a lobotomy so she wouldn’t interfere with the brothers political careers.
Midnite and Rae, you’re viewing this as if pro-lifers and pro-aborts are on the same side, and when one is down the other encourages him/her/them rather than takes hope in the other’s fall.
Again, we’re in an ideological war. I’m not talking about people on the streets whose opinions differ, like you or I. I’m talking about movement leaders, those making abortion happen. Of course I want to see them self-destruct.
*shrugs*
Thanks for clarifying then.
Rae,
as pro-lifers, why would you expect us to see the culture of death succeed?
Well for all out there that give a damn:
I just found out my grandfather has Extensive Stage 4 Lung Cancer. He has six months to maybe a year left to live.
Midnite, I’m very sorry. Our thoughts are with you.
@Jasper: That’s not exactly what I was saying.
Whatever. It was my misunderstanding of what’s going on…that and my naivete.
@Midnite: I’m sorry to hear that. :( *huggle*
I’m so sorry, Midnite. Tell me about your grandfather.
Midnite, I’m sorry. I hope you live close enough to your grandfather to spend time with him.
Jill:
No, I dont. He is four hours away from me, and I dont even have time to sleep at night anymore. I work 40 hours a week and I go to school 17 hours a week. I have no life, and I dont have time to spend with him.
I always thought I’d have enough time with him after I graduated college. I lost my grandmother when I was 8 years old, and I swore I’d spend enough time with my Papa before it was too late. Now it is too late and I see him maybe twice a year.
Midnite,
I’m sorry about your grandfather, my prayers are with your family.
Good comments Jill. I featured them in LifeNews.com’s story on this split…
Midnite —
I’m sorry to hear about your grandpa, that’s very rough news. My prayers are with you both.
When my mom was dying, she really treasured regular phone calls from my brother who was in Belgium — he called before, but started calling everyday. She liked the phone because she didn’t look sick and she could have real conversations that weren’t dominated by her appearance or all the equipment.
My best thoughts go to you, it is very hard — but whatever you can offer him at this time will not be regretted later…
midnite,
My prayers are with you and your family, God bless you.
Hey Steve, thanks!
Jasper,
Old Joe Kennedy had Rosemary lobotomized without Rose’s knowledge while she was out of town. She never forgave him. I never heard exactly what Rosemary’s problem was but its likely she was mildly retarded or even autistic. Anyway, old Joe figured she would embarass the family by becoming pregnant. Of course it was fine for old Joe and his sons to have their ladies and to continue to have them even when married.
The lobotomy resulted in Rosemary being severely brain damaged, to the level of a 4 year old.
Its so senseless when you consider he could well have afforded caretakers or residential care in some more exclusive institution.
When he suffered a massive stroke later in life and was confined to a wheelchair, I viewed it as poetic justice, considering what he condemned his daughter to a lifetime of. She only recently died.
Midnite,
I am very sorry to hear about your grandfather, too, especially in view of your past and present circumstances. A thought: would it be possible to put the school on hold for a semester to spend some time with him? School will be there after he won’t; seems that this would save you some heartache now and after you can’t go back and change it if you wanted to.
All the best; I will keep you and him in my prayers.
Excellent article out of Catholic.org on Mike Huckabee, the only candidate that will work hard to reverse Roe v. Wade:
Huckabee the Best Catholic?
Domers for Huckabee
Hey Midnite,
Sorry to hear of your grandfather. I know this sounds obvious, but if you can’t be there, nothing replaces some heartfelt letters. The written word is so powerful.

RON PAUL 2008
BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE!
Midnite,
I am so sorry to hear about your grandfather…it is very hard to lose someone we love to a terrible illness. Well it’s just terrible in general..but I will pray you can all find some peace.
Midnite –
I’m so sorry to hear it. Maybe you could get a weekend off? My parents were 6 hours away from me while I was in college and I actually took the bus on some weekends to visit. It gave me time to study while traveling.
I agree with Sandy – It really would mean alot to him if you could hand write a letter to him. Just a short note telling him that you love him and maybe tell him a good memory you have of him…..
Ron Paul genuinely scares me. Eliminating the IRS? Come on now, ridiculous.
As for the NOW comments, the National Organization is distancing itself from the NY chapter. They arent as upset about this as NY is. Of course, part of it may be that NY has become Hillary’s adopted home state.
If Hillary knows what’s best for us, get me off the planet.
She is a power hungry, lesbian, pro-homosexual, pro-abortion, socialist who will absolutely ruin this country.
HisMan, I’m just as much a Hillary-hater as the next guy, but making assumptions such as being a lesbian, and power hungry is ridiculous. Attacking someone for their beliefs/political ideals is also ridiculous. Attack the ideals and defend your own, not the person.
@Dan: Yeah…HisMan isn’t exactly known for his tact or maturity on this kinda stuff.
Sometimes it’s just best to ignore the crazy folks… because sometimes if you ignore them, they go away.
Aren’t all the presidential candidates power-hungry by definition?
Ted Chappaquennedy acting like a predatory male chauvinist pig…what a surprise. I was not aware of Joe’s cruel, power-motivated lobotomy of Rosemary, but this seems in keeping with the level of intelligence (as well as compassion, courage, real respect for women, and any other real manly virtues) I have come to associate with that family, mainly via Ted…plenty of otherwise keenly intelligent women do stupid things and wind up pregnant; and any intelligent person would know that tying the girl’s tubes would have precluded that better than an lobotomy…? Maybe he was just passing on a tradition?! For the record, I don’t support forced sterilization of any kind; just pointing out that tying her tubes would have been much less devastating and more effective…and reversible, should her condition improve.
The trouble with the modern feminist movement is their trading a healthy sentiment, an antipathy towards diabolical men, for an unhealthy one: a diabolical antipathy towards men.
Ever wonder why it was so important to them to be equal to such pondscum?!
Remember Chesterton’s keen observations in “What’s Wrong With the World”? Especially this one: “Most of the Feminists would probably agree with me that womanhood is under shameful tyranny in the [workplace]…But I want to destroy the tyranny. They want to destroy the womanhood. That is the only difference.” …but what a difference. You know, like lightning vs. lightning bug?!
Hey Dan, how about some evidence that something is a higher priority with Hillary than power, or that her reported lesbian alliances are false…you know, lest you fall under your own condemnation in attacking the person, rather than debating pertinent views?
NOW NYS prez “fights like a girl”
Ouch. Marcia Pappas, president of New York State NOW, is herself getting skewered by her own side for skewering Ted Kennedy because he endorsed Barack Obama, which I posted yesterday. Here are some comments from the left-leaning Politico blog. Seems…
