A new baby for Bambino!
Yesterday, one of our mods, Bobby Bambino, and his wife, welcomed their 2nd daughter, Aniela Margaret!
Aniela was a healthy 9 lbs and 21″ long.
Details of the birth from Bobby…
The delivery was relatively easy and uncomplicated. (Those are my wife’s words, not mine.) The labor was only 4 hours, and it was a world of a difference from our 1st child’s birth.
She was due May 2, so we had an induction yesterday, which we also had for our 1st pregnancy. We went into the hospital at 7:30a, and Aniela was born at 3:14p (like 3.14, decimal approximation for pi!). She was a lot different than we expected. She has a thick, full head of hair unlike her big sister who was born with the old man horseshoe cut. She was 9 lbs and chubby.
We have a lot of support from friends here, especially at school. All my fellow grad students and the faculty are very supportive, and some are taking care of the class I’m teaching this week. The most help we have gotten is from my mom who has been staying with us the past 3 weeks, watching our other daughter Gianna while I teach and my wife works. Aniela’s middle name is after my mom.

One somewhat interesting note about the fact that Aniela was born on the feast day of Our Lady of Fatima. As recently as September of last year, I didn’t really “get” Fatima. I didn’t see what the big deal was about it. It wasn’t until I read The Last Secret of Fatima by Cardinal Bertone that I finally “got” what Fatima was all about. I was very excited about it and remember thinking to myself that I need to look forward to Our Lady of Fatima’s feast day so I could celebrate it. Well, up until 3 days ago, I had completely forgotten about it and the fact that it was coming up. It wasn’t until two days before the induction was set and I heard the name “Lucia” that all of a sudden made me realize that my new baby was going to be born on the feast day of Our Lady of Fatima. So that was exciting.
