Quote of the Day 5-4-10
Forcing a woman to go through the probe, and detailed description of the embryo after she has already made up her mind to have the procedure can only [be] viewed as unconstitutional in that it violates the Eighth Amendment’s prohibition against “cruel and unusual punishment.”
~Jayne Lyn Stahl, referring to OK’s new ultrasound law, Counter Punch, May 4

The woman will anyway have to go through that procedure anyway, for the abortionist to establish the size and position of the fetus and placenta. By doing it just a bit earlier than the actual surgery and explaining to the woman what is on the screen gives a woman a better informed choice.
Does “after she has already made up her mind” mean that the woman has no right and no choice to change her mind if she receives additional information? Is that what the pro-aborts are afraid of? That’s what I really dislike (mildly said) about pro-aborts and pro-abortion politicians, they all sing a song that all they want to do is reduce the number of abortions, but as soon someone suggests a way to do that, they get all defensive and start shouting it’s a human rights violation or etc. Just comes to show how corrupt they are and where their support is coming from…
From what I have read, insertion of the probe device is similar to inserting a tampon and sometimes the patient is allowed to insert it herself if she’s more comfortable doing it that way.
How in the world is this cruel and usual punishment? If so, perhaps colonoscopies and childbirth should be outlawed as well.
If the embryo/fetus is just a parasite, then how could looking at the leech before it is removed be considered ‘cruel and unusual’.
I would be relieved to see with my own eyes that the problem had been correctly idenified and the prescribed medical procedure was the correct treatment.
The pre abortent pregnant woman desiring to kill her unborn child could consider the intrauterine exam as the pracitice swings a baseball player takes before he steps in the batters box.
Will the pre-abortive female be required to ‘view’ real time live feed and/or the instant replay of the intrauterine examination before she can proceed with the blood letting?
Abortion is a ‘holy sacrement’ according to some religious feministas. A cause for somber reflection and even joyous celebration.
Might as well record the abortion so she can preserve the golden moment and replay it when she is trying to re-assure herself she made the right ‘choice’.
Put it right there on the bookshelf with the wedding video, juniors first steps, and missy’s baptism.
