Lunch Break: Oreo turns 100!
by LauraLoo
The most beloved cookie on the planet – the Oreo – turns 100 today.
In honor of this milestone birthday, let’s all have some Oreos today! I’ll drop 80 cents in my company vending machine to get my 6-pack.
Also, the most important question: how do you eat an Oreo? I twist and eat each half separately.

I open, eat the frosting first, then eat the cookies.
I may have to start celebrating this most important occasion now. :)
Mmmm. I celebrate Oreos every day. In fact, they’ve been one of my forbidden cravings this pregnancy. You cannot enjoy them properly without a cold glass of white milk.
I’m not a big fan of Oreos, but here’s an interesting article about different versions around the world:

I don’t eat them at all, anymore. Because Oreos are produced by Nabisco, which is owned by Kraft, which is owned by Nestlé, which works with Senomyx, which uses embryonic stem cells in their research.
:(
im not a big fan of them either but sydney…i had to have them with my last pregnancy along with the cold milk. i had to send them down to my son;)
Definitely they go best with a glass of white milk – it cannot be chocolate milk. Often I dunk the whole cookie and then bite, but on the rare occassion I will pull them apart first — don’t tell anyone though. I must admit I like the cookie part more than the frosting. I have been known to share the frosting part.
Kate: I open, eat the frosting first, then eat the cookies.
This.
(Or, once in a while, just throw the whole thing in your mouth and crunch it up.)
Alice that is good to know.
People, people. Hydrox came first, and Oreo was a knock-off.
I must admit I like the cookie part more than the frosting.
That statement is wrong on so many levels. :P
Dip an oreo in peanut butter and enjoy the amazingness!
Call me a cookie troll, but I’ve never been crazy about Oreos. Strictly a chocolate chip guy. However, butterscotch is even better. Ginger snaps are good, and mint wafers…
Where was I? Oh yeah, cold milk is a definite necessity, but I never dunk. Just bite a cookie and take a sip.
Alice, there goes my Nabisco Graham Crackers! I’ve been meaning to ask where I can find a good list of anti-life companies.
Oh, and nice job by the kid. I wish I’d had the patience to go more than a day learning the guitar.
Oh, man, I could eat a hundred oreos! Dipping them in a super duper cold glass of milk. :)
