Pro-life video of the day: Baby Thomas’ last precious moments

T.K. and Deidrea Lauxs were ecstatic to be first-time parents. But early on doctors knew that something wasn’t right with their baby. Baby Thomas had Trisomy 13, a fatal condition that makes it impossible for babies to live outside the womb. Doctors advised them to abort Thomas but they chose life instead – even if for just a few days. Thomas’ short time on earth was an absolute miracle!

Jill Stanek is a nurse turned speaker, columnist and blogger, a national figure in the effort to protect both preborn and postborn innocent human life.
This video always gets me. I’ve seen it several times and I always cry. But how beautiful that they got to know their baby Thomas and hold him and love him and that he knew in his short life that he was loved!!!!
Abortion would have stolen all of those precious memories and moments from them.
Nearly half of the people I know who have died were younger than I (some less than a year old) and I don’t regret for one second that I was close enough to them to be grieved by their passing.
Not one second do I regret, and not one second of their lives would I trade for any measure of consolation, neither now nor when they passed on.
Their time on this Earth was a blessing, not a waste, and when I think of them, I don’t think of coffins or some miserable little creatures fighting stupidly against the odds; I see people who had lives, had feelings, had good days and bad days like the rest of us, had dreams, and now have a place in my heart for all time.
What a sweet sweet angel! And the parents are so brave! I can’t even imagine the heartache they felt, but what a wonderful time they had together – so full of love! Haven’t cried like this in a very long time!
Wait until Thomas runs into their arms when they join the Lord – he will wipe away every tear from their eyes. T.K. And Deidrea honored the Lord and their son.

Oh man, I don’t cry and I can barely swallow after that video because I am so choked up. How could anyone advocate that baby shouldn’t have been born, that he should have been aborted rather to get to spend a little time with his parents and being loved. He mattered, all babies matter even if they are only here for a little bit.
To paraphrase from a famous poem: “‘Tis better to have lived and lost than never to have lived at all!”
I’m speechless.
We think that was very sweet that they shared that with everybody.
Just how many lives have been touched by this precious one? We may never know,
but THOMAS MATTERED.
What a special mommy and daddy and precious baby. I’m crying… Every life matters.

I loved how the mom said “All Thomas will know of this world is love.” So true! What inspirational parents.
When I see the hurt in this world and then I see the love demonstrated through these parents, I know our lives are meant for so much more. God Bless these brave followers of Christ.
