Pro-life video of the day: Blood donation
by LauraLoo
For those of you who are medically able to participate in blood donation, here is your reminder if you haven’t done so for a while – or if you have never given at all.
It is such a great feeling to donate, knowing you are saving lives. It is a privilege and a gift from God to donate blood regularly. I know this from personal experience, formerly changing my status from “pre-diabetic” (very close to diabetic, in fact) to a healthy glucose reading of 87 due in part to lots of daily exercise. :)
Will you consider saving lives with a blood donation? It becomes a great habit once you start, and one of the best Christmas gifts you can still give this year – a part of yourself.

Another great opportunity to save lives is Be the Match (bone marrow registry). I can no longer donate blood since my local bank changed its weight requirement, but I’m ready to donate bone marrow if/when I am ever needed.
Please keep the families of Sandy Hook in your thoughts. My partner’s 6 year old was scheduled to attend that school until he moved a couple miles away this year, but many of his friends still go there. He is stuck in lockdown at his school for now but I am leaving work to go wait for him to be let out, and will be away from the computer for a while.
I’m not allowed to give blood. :( I would if I could, definitely.
@Jack: I know the feeling. They won’t let me give blood either. :(
Please, please give! One donation makes a HUGE difference.
My daughter Hannah had neurosurgery at 10 months of age. She lost one third of her entire blood supply, one third! A single unit from a single donor saved her life.
I gave blood for the first time in October. I was scared to death, and I almost passed out 3 times. But it was worth it. :)
I appreciate all the comments.
Lizzie, so proud of you! Will you donate again?
Elizabeth, praise the LORD for saving your daughter Hannah.
LL :)
