Churches file federal complaint to stop CA from forcing abortion insurance coverage

Central-Baptist-HattiesburgDuring U.S. Supreme Court arguments on the Hobby Lobby case,†liberals mocked Justice Kennedy for asking the Obama administration’s lawyer whether its contraception mandate could also force for-profit companies to cover abortions in their insurance policies.

Only five†months later liberals have taken†this to the unimaginable extreme: On August 22, the California Department of Managed Health Care†announced that all employers offering health insurance – not just for-profit but also nonprofit, religious institutions, and churches – had to provide†coverage for all elective abortions.

Obamacare mandate “the beginning” of conscience problems

by Kelli All told, 300 plaintiffs are involved in 100 challenges to the anti-conscience mandate. But it is important to remember that all this commotion is the result of one small aspect of one set of regulations concerning preventive care under Obamacare. • Clinic Quotes reports the words of a Boston abortionist who acknowledges that her work as an abortionist does end lives… but for “good reasons”:

I have the utmost respect for life; I appreciate that life starts early in the womb, but also believe that Iím ending it for good reasons. Often Iím saving the woman, or Iím improving the lives of the other children in the family. I also believe that women have a life they have to consider. If a woman is working full-time, has one child already, and is barely getting by, having another child that would financially push her to go on public assistance is going to lessen the quality of her life. And itís also an issue for the child, if it would not have had a good life. Lifeís hard enough when youíre wanted and everythingís prepared for. So yes, I end life, but even when itís hard, itís for a good reason.

Four months ago Diana Jimenez†had an epiphany.

“I was pro-life but had no idea what an abortion looked like,” Diana told me today by phone. “Then I actually saw†a video of an abortion, and my heart broke in pieces.”

A senior nursing student at†Biola, a Christian university in La Mirada, California, Diana (pictured right) promptly launched a pro-life group and invited Gregg Cunningham, executive director of the Center for Bio-Ethical Reform, to speak. After a great deal of energy was expended to publicize, only four students showed up.

Diana was compelled to attempt greater outreach, and the clock was ticking, with graduation just around the corner.

Huckabee: The only evangelical on the ticket supports infanticide

I want to clear the air about something that has been said. People wonder whether guys like me, an evangelical, would only support a fellow evangelical? Well my friends I want to tell you something, of the four people on the two tickets, the only self-professed evangelical is Barack Obama. And he supports changing the […]
