by Susie Allen, host of the blog, Pro-Life in TN, and Kelli Americans United for Life applauds Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin, who “signed into a law a groundbreaking, pro-life measure that passed with tremendous bi-partisan support and will expand the enforcement options for any violation of state abortion laws as well as provide greater protections […]

  • At A Drop in the Ocean, Laura slams California’s attack on pregnancy resource centers by comparing the bill – which would force pregnancy resource centers to tell women where to get abortions – to forcing a Jewish deli to tell customers where to buy pork:

Hello, and welcome to Shamash’s! Before you sit down to eat, we want you to know that New York has public programs that provide immediate free or low-cost access to comprehensive pork dishes (including all FDA-approved methods of smoked ham), pulled pork, and pork sausage, for eligible people. To determine whether you qualify, contact the county social food services office at 1-800-YAY-PORK.

  • Over at National Review, Dr. Michael New explains why it is too early for social liberals to be doing a victory dance over a new Gallup poll showing those reporting to be  liberal equal to social conservatives:

Last year, social conservatives outpolled social liberals by a 34-30 margin. This year, it was a 31-31 split. This represents a relatively small change that could have been caused by a slight bias in the sample.

While the effects of an onslaught of  positive media attention to same sex marriage, seems to have successful in moving  public opinion to  the liberal category, that does not appear to be the case  with the life issues.

Opposition to abortion and pornography has held relatively constant, and a smaller percentage of Americans now find physician-assisted suicide morally acceptable.

Pro-choicer on CA law: Don’t make pregnancy centers refer for abortion

by Kelli To be clear, some crisis pregnancy centers can be shady. They have been known to misleadingly portray themselves as full-service women’s health clinics, or to obscure religious affiliations. They may offer discredited info on things like “the link between abortion and depression,” or engage in what some describe as bullying or pressuring women […]

Pro-lifers and the contraception compromise

by Carder … [I]t’s all right to have prayer rallies and demonstrations and even a big annual March — which gets absolutely zero coverage in the secular world — because the pro-life movement will never challenge contraception, which is the root of all this. It won’t challenge it because it would reveal the deep religious […]

Sunday Word: “A large population is a king’s glory, but a shortage of people is a ruler’s ruin”

A large population is a king’s glory, but a shortage of people is a ruler’s ruin. ~ Proverbs 14:28, International Standard Version, a thought Christian singer Amy Grant might bear in mind as she determines to team up with the pro-abortion, pro-contraception Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to promote “family planning” around the world

  • Wesley J. Smith comments on the new California bill that would require pro-life pregnancy resource centers to refer clients for abortions. California already opts out of abortion reporting and allows abortions to be performed by non-physicians. If you thought they couldn’t get any worse, you would be wrong. From AB 775:

    (a) A licensed covered facility shall disseminate to clients on site the following notice in English and in the primary threshold languages for Medi-Cal beneficiaries as determined by the State Department of Health Care Services for the county in which the facility is located.

    (1) The notice shall state: “California has public programs that provide immediate free or low-cost access to comprehensive family planning services (including all FDA-approved methods of contraception), prenatal care, and abortion for eligible women. To determine whether you qualify, contact the county social services office at [insert the telephone number].

ACLU to religious groups: Pay for illegal immigrants’ abortions, contraceptives

aclu_religionandbeliefby Kelli

… [T]he ACLU wants to force religious organizations to pay for abortions for illegal immigrants who have been raped and become pregnant.

The civil rights group also wants religious groups which receive federal funding to give out free or subsidized contraception, suggesting that such assistance is necessary “to meet the basic needs” of underage teen illegal immigrants.
