  • Americans United for Life urges pastors in Illinois to address a new bill from the pulpit:

Illinois SB 1564, a bill that would dramatically reduce the state’s conscience protections for health care providers and pro-life pregnancy centers, continues to advance.Yesterday, the House Committee on Human Services voted along party lines to advance this dangerous bill to the House floor. If the bill passes the House, it will go to Governor Rauner for consideration.

  • At Students for Life, Kristan Hawkins wonders what Michael Voris’ point was when he created an error-filled video which makes dubious claims about abortion and the pro-life movement. Hawkins says Voris is “irresponsible” and using “faulty logic” to claim “abortion numbers aren’t declining,” among other things. Hawkins backs up her rebuttal with links to the facts:

Not citing any sources, he proclaimed that chemical abortions aren’t tracked and comprise a quarter of all abortions. Therefore, he said, these must be added to the million+ abortions every year, which basically comes out to a number that shows abortions are not declining.

While Voris appears to make a convincing case in his six-minute video, he is wrong.

GOP’s Abortion Barbie exploits pro-life millennials for photo op

On February 3, a group of Millennials with Students for Life of America paid a second visit to the Washington, D.C., office of Congresswoman Renee Ellmers.

Ellmers calls herself pro-life but infamously torpedoed a vote on the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act two weeks ago, a bill that would protect babies 20 weeks and older from abortion.

Students for Life reaches out to pregnant women in college

by Kelli Often the message she hears is: Have an abortion or drop out of school…. For her and her child’s future and well being, our goal should be to make sure she graduates…. [A] child born into poverty is seven times more likely to live in poverty his or her whole life. … Colleges […]

Kristan Hawkins: “There is no right to an unsafe abortion”

by Kelli Where are the women’s rights groups, like Planned Parenthood, that supposedly should be outraged that women have to go to subpar abortion facilities for care? Abortion advocates claim to want abortion to be “safe, legal and rare.” If they want it to be safe, why would they oppose a common sense regulation that […]

Pro-abortion film “Obvious Child” tanks at box office

pro-abortion filmThe abortion industry did its best to pitch the movie Obvious Child as an “unapologetic” but “hilarious” romantic comedy about abortion, even as the director and star eschewed such a depiction. See headlines right.

And therein lies the irony.

Abortion proponents want desperately to remove the stigma surrounding abortion, and they desperately hoped Obvious Child would be a “game-changing” vehicle to entice and persuade pop culture.

But those who invested and starred in Obvious Child pragmatically knew aversion to abortion would be exactly what kept pop culture from attending, thus their attempts to back away from the odious A-word. (The film distributor’s synopsis of the film doesn’t even include the word “abortion.”)

Neither tactic worked.

ABQ 20-week abortion ban proponents: We’ll be back

Early poll results from the Andaluz hotel on the special election
2013-11-20_0807I was frankly shocked to see Albuquerque’s 20-week abortion ban initiative go down. In early September the ban got overwhelming public support, according to an Albuquerque Journal poll, right.

But the initiative did go down, losing by 9,144 votes: 55%-45%, 48,042 to 38,898.

Early voting is where our side lost. There were 50,000 early and absentee ballots cast, and they went 56% against and 44% for.

Objectively speaking, how barbaric is a society that votes in favor of murdering preborn babies five months old and up, particularly who are known to feel the pain of it all? How barbaric are people to jump, clap, and shout for joy when that happens (photo above)?

Pretty barbaric.

Abortion supporters now both anti- “choice” and uber- “choice”

Planned Parenthood triggered a massive identity crisis in the pro-abortion world when it announced on February 9 it was abandoning the term “pro-choice.”

I mentioned at the time Planned Parenthood must certainly not have conferred with such groups as NARAL Pro-Choice America before dropping its bombshell.

The1PercentI don’t think abortion advocacy groups appreciate the fact that Planned Parenthood is a billion dollar business. So its decisions will be primarily market-driven, which may or may not be coincide with the best interest of ideological groups – one of the hard truths about the 1%.

Thus, Planned Parenthood basically hung NARAL, et al, out to dry, forcing them to defend their commitment to the word “choice.”

In an interview with Politico today, new NARAL president Ilyse Hogue said her group is doubling down…
