My new role at Susan B. Anthony List

SBA-20_logoOriginally posted June 23, 2015

Dear faithful readers of JillStanek.com:

First, the exciting news: I am honored to have accepted a position at Susan B. Anthony List as its National Campaign Chair! Read more at WorldNetDaily.com. Also read SBA’s press release and a a blurb in Politico’s Pulse.

I have been a long-time admirer of Marjorie Dannenfelser and the SBA List team, many of whom are friends. I partnered with the group during the 2012 election cycle for a bus tour exposing Barack Obama’s abortion/infanticide extremism.

This is a new position, for which I will travel the country on behalf of SBA List, speaking to pro-life activists, donors, and voters to promote SBA List’s aggressive campaign strategy to elect a pro-life president in 2016 and advance the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.

This will be a permanent position. After the 2016 election there will be the need to conduct another national pro-life political campaign… and another… and another.

But of immediate importance to me, as you know, is passage of the Pain-Capable Act, because as an RN I witnessed the excruciating deaths of 20+ week abortion survivors who would have been saved had a 20-week abortion ban been in place.

Electing a pro-life president is the gateway to enacting this legislation into law. And, of course, a president also wields a tremendous amount of influence in other areas of importance to pro-lifers, such as funding abortion groups and the pro-death agenda, judicial nominations, and other pro-life/abortion legislation.

I witnessed firsthand how devastating pro-abortion legislators can be when I watched then-state Senator Barack Obama vote four times against the Born Alive Infants Protection Act and take a leadership role in seeing its defeat.

Now, the sad news. Because my position at SBA List will be full-time, I have made the difficult decision to grind almost all activities at JillStanek.com to a halt, after 10 years of blogging here. I will basically be keeping the blog open now for archival purposes, posting my own blogs very infrequently.

After this week we will be streamlining my blog to just those postings, which will also be published at Live Action News. This means no more quotes of the day, pro-life videos of the day, pro-life blog buzz, or pro-life news briefs. Also, there will be no more commenting. All comments will be directed to my Facebook page.

2009-06-04-MSNBC-StanekIt has been a great run. After all, were it not for my blog I would never have been named “Worst Person in the World” by Keith Olbermann!

That goofiness aside, we broke many stories of importance here, including information on late-term abortionist LeRoy Carhart’s victims in 2013.

But times online have changed. The timing of all this is good – and God’s.

In the beginning (10 years online are like dog years), pro-lifers had to check several blog and web sources a day to get all the news they needed. Now, in combination with social media, Live Action News, LifeNews.com, LifeSiteNews.com, and StanekReport.com capture everything we need to know. And there are now many great pro-life writers.

11297838_10153274799331622_1900318693_nSpeaking of StanekReport.com, it will soon become HarmsReport.com. Pro-lifer Monte Harms has been the strongest contributor to SR.com behind the scenes and will be ably taking the helm. (Thanks also to Carole, Susie, and Josh for their help with SR.com.)

Monte has a rich pro-life background, having volunteered for Justice for All and Protest ABQ and done sidewalk counseling at abortion mills. He has also run the blogs Stand for Life and Pro-Life New Mexico.

And what about Kelli, our site’s glue? I’m happy to report she will begin working for Live Action News next week, doing much of the same work she did here. This blog would not have been held together were it not for Kelli, who has poured herself into it for over six years.

Kelli is but one dear friend I have made here. I can’t begin to name all the wonderful moderators and volunteers who have dedicated themselves on this blog, although I must highlight some special people who were here from the beginning, or nearly the beginning – Bethany, Carla, LauraLoo, and MK.

Special thanks to Carder, Hans, and Susie, who have steadfastly posted great stuff here, so helpful to our cause. And I’d also like to thank our current mods: Del, Sydney, and last but not least Bobby Bambino, who has also been a mod since we began having mods!

But most of all, I want to thank YOU, pro-life readers and activists, for your support of this blog but moreso the sanctity of life.

Prayers appreciated!

For Life Together,

Jill

Pro-life/family petition drives to keep Duggars on air quickly overwhelm homosexual petition

photo-5-2-730x730_810_500_55_s_c1

On August 20, homosexual activists launched a petition drive to get the Duggar family’s 19 Kids and Counting show kicked off TLC. The Duggars are open about their Biblical view that marriage should be between one man and one woman.

The homosexual campaign was slow going until the Duggars removed a photo of two men kissing from their Facebook page on November 11, this after encouraging married couples to post pictures of themselves kissing.

At this point homosexuals kicked their campaign into high gear, garnering attention from such media outlets as E! Online, People, Huffington Post, and Washington Post. Their petition drive has 160,757* signatures at present.

But pro-lifers and pro-family activists have responded with gusto.

After just three days, a LifeSiteNews.com petition, also supported by the Benham brothers and Steven Crowder, had surpassed the homosexual petition drive with 171,355* signatures as of this writing.

But there are also two other petition drives underway with the same purpose, and they, too, have received loads of support in a very short time. A new LifeNews.com petition already has 28,554* signatures, and yet another petition supported on a Michelle Duggar Facebook fan page has 53,571* signatures. Yet another pro-Duggar petition, this one sponsored by Personhood USA, has 22,256* signatures at present.

At this point, after only three days, pro-life and pro-family supporters have amassed over 275,736 signatures in support of the Duggars – almost double the number accumulated by homosexual activists in three months!

If you haven’t signed a petition, please do. Hey, sign them all! It’s the Obama-supported Chicago Way!

UPDATE, 5:20p: *Numbers have all been adjusted to current time. Also, LifeSiteNews.com reported this afternoon it singlehandedly blew past the homosexual petition, again, after only 3 days.

Announcing StanekReport.com!

stanekreportad3

Think Drudge Report for pro-lifers, harnessing the latest up-to-the-minute pro-life news.

That’s the new StanekReport.com!

While there are many pro-life websites and blogs, and there is news on the pro-life issue scattered all over the place, there has been no one website where with the click of a mouse one could read the latest important headlines on pro-life news – until now!

There will be a little crossover from this blog.

Our own Susie Allen, who authors Pro-Life Blog Buzz here twice a week, is one of SR’s editors, along with Jivin’ Jehoshaphat, who writes Pro-Life News Briefs. Both are already accustomed to scanning headlines for important pro-life news.

We will also include the Quote of the Day by Carder and Kelli. And Kelli will help hold things together, as she does here.

Other than that, StanekReport.com and JillStanek.com will remain separate entities for the foreseeable future.

You can “like” Stanek Report on Facebook and follow @StanekReport on Twitter.

Check out StanekReport.com often throughout the day for updates.

Also included is an RSS feed to the latest posts by LifeNews.com, LifeSiteNews, and LiveActionNews.org.

NOLA Episcopal priest welcomes Planned Parenthood

annunciationbaerby Kelli

I write to express my support for the right of the clinic to be there and to serve the reproductive needs of our community…. I also write to make clear that there are many Christians, Christian denominations and many other people of faith who support the reproductive rights of women….

I am very disappointed with some fellow Christian people and churches who have made threats of exclusion and boycotts to congregants who wish to work with the clinic.

As a parish church that is named for the most wondrous conception in history, we welcome the Planned Parenthood clinic to the neighborhood.

It will serve a very important role in education, health screenings, contraception and, when necessary, a safe place for the termination of pregnancy.

~ Rev. Walter Baer of the Episcopal Church of the Annunciation, in a letter to the New Orleans Advocate, as quoted by LifeNews.com, September 23

Late-term abortionist claims pro-lifers are flat-earthers

tillersusanrobinson_1The link between abortion and breast cancer is non-existent. The link between abortion and mental illness is non-existent – it’s all based on junk science.

These are the same people who believe the earth is flat.

~ Late-term abortionist Dr. Susan Robinson, in a Google+ chat following the PBS airing of the controversial documentary After Tiller, as quoted by Life News, September 3

JillStanek.com needs you!

2014-07-20_0905I’ve realized over the course of time I’m basically attracted to write three types of posts, those that 1) uplift pro-lifers, 2) expose the pro-abortion underbelly, or 3) discourage abortion proponents.

I keep track of where I am quoted by the mainstream media or abortion groups, enabled to give our side a voice only because of new media.

Several thousand people also stop by here every day to participate in the community we’ve built. And if you’ve seen me (gratefully) reposted by “friendlies” elsewhere, like LifeNews.com, LifeSiteNews.com, or Newsbusters, it is due to this blog as the launching point.

Thanks to Susie, JillStanek.com also spotlights posts by other pro-life bloggers twice a week. And we showcase videos and quotes germane to the movement with the help of Carder, Hans, and Kelli. An important value here is promoting the work of other people and groups engaged in online pro-life activism.

I’ve been blogging nine years now. In the beginning no financing was needed, just time. When the blog grew, and I did need money to keep it going, the Life Prizes award I  received from the Gerard Foundation in 2008 kept us financially afloat.

Now that funding has run dry, and I need to turn to pro-lifers for help.

The needs aren’t great as perhaps compared to other pro-life ministries – $1,000 a month pays for Kelli – the administrative glue that keeps things running, the server, and improvements. I’m not paid, nor are the aforementioned feature writers or sacrificial and dedicated moderators – Bobby Bambino, Carder, Del, Hans, LibertyBelle, Susie, and Sydney.

We need $6,000 to remain in the black until the end of the year, and it would be great to get a little padding. So our goal is $10,000. We have a bar under our donation button at the top of the page on the right side that shows how near or far we are to that goal. You can see we have quite a ways to go at this point.

THANKS to those who contributed when I asked in May! Your donations helped us stay afloat for two months. I also appreciated all the “likes” and “shares” that post got. Before you do that today, if you would consider simultaneously donating a tad at the same time, that would be great. It takes a village, as someone once said!

There are two giving options – one time donations and/or monthly giving. Donating even $5 a month would be helpful. If several people do that we would be ok.

10258790_10154174804280364_7645922493292941323_oThanks in advance for the generosity of those of you who have the same passion I do for online pro-life activism.

UPDATE 2:25p: Dear friend Bethany has offered to donate four 9×12 pencil drawings to help, which is very kind. Many of you know Bethany as one of our original moderators. An example of her work is to the right, a drawing she made of me with my preemie grandson Gabriel when he was born in 2000.

So the first four who donate $150 (either at one time or spread out over a year) will get one of Bethany’s drawings. Thank you, Bethany!

Pro-life photos of the week: Planned Parenthood’s rainy rally; “controversial” pro-life ad

To protest the one-year anniversary of North Carolina’s legislature passing a law establishing abortion clinic regulations, Planned Parenthood hosted a rally on July 10. Too bad, so sad, it rained cats and dogs…

rallyd67a8639-81ea-49df-9cc1-03f9221f58ea

Our next shot isn’t a photo, per se, but I’m broadening the term for this one. The ad looks so controversial doesn’t it? The City of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, thinks so.

City officials are  blocking Women’s Health Link from posting the ad on its city buses, because the website, they say, discusses “controversial issues.” With the help of Alliance Defending Freedom, the pregnancy care center is suing. Read more at LifeNews.com….

Abortion survivor reflects on her own pregnancy

Melissa Ohdenby Carder

For women like me who have survived failed abortions as children in the womb, progressing to the point in pregnancy with our own children in which we know we were aborted unsuccessfully during our own mother’s pregnancy is a huge milestone, and this week, I am grateful to have done just that.

I am now 31-1/2 weeks pregnant with our second daughter, now putting me past the 31 week mark at which my birthmother was forced to abort me nearly thirty-seven years ago.

~ Abortion survivor Melissa Ohden, LifeNews.com, June 16
