State of Alabama catches unlicensed abortion provider red-handed

dianederzisAL.com reported today:

The state of Alabama has uncovered a business relationship between the doctor of a clinic accused of being an unlicensed abortion provider and the woman who surrendered an abortion provider license for the Southside facility a year ago.

In a court filing last week, the state says that Dr. Bruce Norman is contracted with a Georgia company headed by Diane Derzis [pictured above right] to provide staffing, supplies, medication, medical malpractice insurance and workman’s compensation — “in short to manage Norman’s practice conducted at 1001 17th St. South.”

In previous court filings, Derzis stated there was no relationship between herself and Norman.

MS NOW prez: Pro-lifers the real problem at clinic skirting the law

JacksonRobertsMississippi’s only abortion clinic continued seeing patients Tuesday, the day after a federal judge temporarily stopped the state from closing it.

Several people wearing florescent yellow vests labeled “Clinic Escort” helped women find parking places and walked with them into the cherry pink building in a Jackson retail district. Outside an iron fence that separates Jackson Women’s Health Organization from the street, abortion opponents stood on a sidewalk and implored women not to end their pregnancies.

New Stanek poll: Will we finally see an abortion-free state in 2013?

Poll 2.pngI have a new poll question up:

The fate of at least 3 abortion clinics that are the sole providers in their state hangs in the balance. Will we finally see an abortion-free state in 2013?

Those states are Alabama, Mississippi, and North Dakota.

What do you think?

Our last poll question was:

  • In Israel, a woman has been arrested after a home birth resulted in a dead child. An autopsy is being done to determine whether the child was stillborn, as the mother claims.
  • In an interview with Sarah Kliff, Tammi Kromenaker, the operator of the only abortion clinic in North Dakota, notes that there is room for only one abortion clinic in the state:

SK: How long have you been the only abortion clinic in North Dakota?

TK: Since February 2001. Just to be clear, we’re not like Mississippi where other clinics have been legislated out of existence. This population is small, and it can only support one clinic. There was one that opened in 1991 and closed in 2001. There were two clinics for about two and a half years, but Fargo can’t support more than one clinic.

  • Expose Abortion has a haunting quote from former abortion practitioner Susan Thayer, discussing how abortion providers must be gradually desensitized to the grisly work of abortion:

I walked into the surgical suite and headed toward the foot of the exam table. I was stopped and told to sit in a chair by the door because, they said, nearly everyone who watches the first time, can’t take it and either get sick or faint. Once you make it through one abortion, you are allowed to gradually move closer to the patient, therefore seeing more of the procedure.

Abortionist Peter Bours will turn 69 years old this July and has announced his retirement and the closure of his Eugene, Oregon, abortion mill effective February 28.

The last standing abortion clinic in Mississippi, Jackson Women’s Health Organization, pictured above, may be forced to close next month, thanks to a commonsense new law requiring abortionists to have admitting privileges at local hospitals.
