Woman finds out at six months she’s pregnant with rare twins

Country singer Gretchen Peters worried about pro-life legislation

by Carder What scares me about what is happening in the mid-terms in Tennessee is that the amendment that’s on the ballot would actually not provide for abortion in the case of rape or the potential death of the mother. • American Life League’s Judie Brown contrasts the indifference toward the slaughter of 3,000 humans daily by abortion in America to the outcry over the euthanasia of an Ebola patient’s dog in Spain. Brown is a dog lover, but even she was shocked at the huge response to save the life of one animal:

Here is the first sentence of a news report that came to my attention recently: “With more than 3,400 people dead in west Africa and 7,500 infected in the latest Ebola outbreak, 300,000 people sign a petition demanding action… to save an infected dog.” This was twice as many people as those who signed a petition demanding a cure be found for the deadly virus….

As it turns out, the dog was “put down” Wednesday by Madrid’s regional government. But the fact of the matter is that the plight of this one pet generated more interest and involvement than a single preborn child threatened and then killed by the act of abortion.

There is something dramatically wrong with this picture.

Stanek wkend Q: What should Wendy Davis’s follow-up to her paraplegic ad be?

2014-10-11_0616

Yesterday the Wendy Davis campaign released a new ad attacking her Texas gubernatorial opponent Greg Abbott, who is a paraplegic.

The shockingly tasteless ad was immediately condemned not only by Republicans but by… everyone.

The Washington Post called the ad “one of the nastiest campaign ads you will ever see.” WashPo reporter Chris Cillizza tweeted:

Jennifer Garner: Permanent baby bump a testament to my children

“I am not pregnant, but I have had three kids and there is a bump,” said Garner, shooting down speculation that she and husband Ben Affleck were expecting baby No. 4 after paparazzi photos over the summer showed her with a bit of a rounded tummy…. “I get congratulated all the time by people I […]

Churches file federal complaint to stop CA from forcing abortion insurance coverage

Central-Baptist-HattiesburgDuring U.S. Supreme Court arguments on the Hobby Lobby case, liberals mocked Justice Kennedy for asking the Obama administration’s lawyer whether its contraception mandate could also force for-profit companies to cover abortions in their insurance policies.

Only five months later liberals have taken this to the unimaginable extreme: On August 22, the California Department of Managed Health Care announced that all employers offering health insurance – not just for-profit but also nonprofit, religious institutions, and churches – had to provide coverage for all elective abortions.

Do deaths from legal abortion matter to pro-choicers?

Exactly who perpetrated the fatal abortion doesn’t seem to pique the interest of those who want to hang her death around her distant-relative-by-marriage’s neck.

What I find particularly fascinating is that amid the obsession over Ann Keenan (obsession likely to arise again should [Mitt] Romney aim again for the White House) there is a blithe obliviousness of “safe and legal” abortion deaths.

Why abortion industry won’t push FDA to change RU-486 protocol

RU-486 abortion pill, take only as approved by FDAThe abortion cartel has reacted to a new genre of pro-life laws, which force abortion clinics to administer RU-486 per FDA protocol, in a way that makes no sense.

Four states – Arizona, North Dakota, Ohio, and Oklahoma – have now passed a version of this law, and the abortion lobby has responded by taking the more difficult path - suing to block the statute.

In terms of PR, this is an uphill battle. Abortion proponents are trying to justify giving RU-486 off-label by framing the FDA as incompetent. Quoting Tulsa World, October 1:

  • The Abortion Gang has a guest post by Canadian Mel Waters in which she describes her experience in Colorado for an elective abortion after 24 weeks at Warren Hern’s clinic. The story is sad on many levels:

It was a long physical recovery; the mental scars have been a longer journey, and after 4 years I am still working through it. I can’t close my eyes at night without reliving the whole thing again, I still have nightmares!

Hey, Progressives! We’re supposed to like abortion!

by Carder Progressives have apologized for being right. But we don’t have to. Abortion saves lives, improves lives, and makes for a stronger society. The facts are decisively on our side. For those who thought that electing this man along with Clinton crony Terry McAuliffe as VA’s governor was a “pro-woman” idea, you are seeing the fruits of your labor: no one will be expected to help these children. • Life Issues says the deep, dark secret of the health industry is the “hastening of death” through euthanasia thanks to a lucrative market for organ harvesting:

The difficulty of making a pinpoint diagnosis in such complex neurological matters — and the lucrative financial incentives to harvest organs — will ultimately propel this issue into the forefront of public consciousness and discourse.

Not surprisingly, the current procurement market for human tissues and organs in the United States is booming, driven by insufficient supply and heavy demand. According to The Milliman Report (see page 4), if all 11 tissues and organs could be harvested from a single patient declared brain-dead, however unlikely, the going rate for procurement would exceed half a million dollars. If all costs related to those 11 transplants are counted — preparation, physicians’ services, post-op care and the like — the money involved exceeds $5.5 million.

Life Issues is asking for help from health professionals in drawing attention to this.

Blame Planned Parenthood for dearth of Texas abortion clinics today

Abortion Texas cut by 2/3 with Planned Parenthood abortion clinic monopoly

Yesterday there were 21 abortion clinics in Texas, today there are eight.

Thanks to a federal Fifth Circuit Court ruling that allows the state to immediately begin enforcing part of a pro-life law that had been enjoined by a judge in April, the unshackled statute forces abortion clinics to meet the same physical requirements as other ambulatory surgical treatment centers. It also requires that abortionists have admitting privileges within 30 miles of a clinic.

No surprise, when the decision came down late yesterday afternoon the abortion lobby proclaimed an apocalypse. Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards tweeted:

Jessa’s remarks on Instagram conveyed a profound understanding of the past and applied it to the present. If Planned Parenthood collapses, the abortion industry collapses, Part II

Defund Planned Parenthood abortion kingpin and its clinicsIs it really conceivable that Planned Parenthood could crash, bringing the entire abortion industry down with it? I answer that question today.

As powerful and wealthy as Planned Parenthood appears, its position is tenuous, upheld only by political friends and courts. In contraceptive terms, Planned Parenthood has no Plan B.

  • At Live Action News, Lauren Enriquez gives an update on the courageous teacher who took a stand against Planned Parenthood’s indoctrination of his students and was fired for it. He has filed a wrongful termination suit:

Planned Parenthood persisted in bribing his students with cash and gifts to sign up for the government-funded “Teen Outreach Program” even after [Bill] Diss asked them to leave. And the clearly-biased school administration sided with Planned Parenthood, subjecting Diss to scrutiny and discrimination for his belief that Planned Parenthood’s involvement in his math class was not in the best interest of his students’ well-being.

If Planned Parenthood collapses, so does the abortion industry, Part 1

Planned Parenthood abortion clinic industry coming collapse?Had Planned Parenthood gone under in 1986, the abortion industry would hardly have noticed. At the time Planned Parenthood was committing only 6.2% of all U.S. abortions.

That was then.

With a total of 342 abortion clinics at last count (174 surgical/168 medical), Planned Parenthood now owns 46% of the remaining 751 abortion clinics in the U.S.

I’m as tired of asking for donations as you, please help!

2014-09-28_1107Yuck, I don’t like asking for donations. Didn’t have to do it for the first eight years of this blog’s existence.

But here I am, and the process is admittedly painful! I realize there are a gazillion organizations asking for donations, and this is just one more. All I can say is this blog gets traction. If you are passionate about online pro-life activism, as I am, this is a good investment.

What would really help is ongoing monthly support. How does $5 a month sound? That’s one cup of barista coffee, one McDonalds meal, one magazine.

If 200 people would donate $5 a month, (YOU?), we’d be set. Or 100 at $10. Or 40 at $25. Or 10 at $100. Or one at $1000.

I have eight signed copies of The Race to Save Our Century by Jason Jones and John Zmirak left for those donating $10+/month.

For those donating $5/month I have t-shirts (size L) for the new movie, The Song, just out in theaters on September 26. It is based on the Biblical book Song of Solomon, and it looks good! Here’s the trailer…

Stanek weekend Q: Will attempts to destigmatize abortion work in pro-life favor?

downloadPro-choice activists are on a new bandwagon: To normalize abortion, no sob stories are allowed.

For instance, excusing abortions for rape and incest is bad. To do so is to say some abortions are justifiable, some are not. According to post-abortive Merritt Tierce in a New York Times op ed:

Ginsburg “comforted” to know her progeny can abort her progeny

I think on the issue of choice, one of the reasons, to be frank, that there’s not so much pro-choice activity is that young women, including my daughter and my granddaughter, have grown up in a world where they know if they need an abortion, they can get it. Not that either one of them […]

waronwomen

To listen to pretty much anyone in the Democratic Party these days, you’d think these are dark days for women. But by any objective measure, things have been going great for women for a long time, under Republicans and Democrats alike.

Women earn 57% of bachelor’s degrees, 63% of master’s degrees and 53% of doctorates. They constitute the majority of the U.S. workforce and the majority of managers. Single women without kids earn 8% more than single men without children in most cities. Women make up almost half of medical school applicants and nearly 80% of veterinary school enrollees.
