Why I chose to get arrested at Speaker Boehner’s office

FB_IMG_1427403691349~2

When word came down the night of January 21 that House GOP leaders were reneging on their promise to hold a vote on the 20-week abortion ban the next day – the haunting 42nd anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Roe v Wade decision – [WARNING: vulgarity alert], I was pissed off to the height of pisstivity. Sorry, that’s the most accurate way I can describe it.

USA Today columnist predicts the future of abortion in America

by Kelli Though the U.S. demographic future is more skeptical of abortion, and will limit abortion more than it is now (likely bringing it into line with Europe’s far more restrictive abortion laws), future Americans will also make substantial room for choice, especially in difficult situations. Abortion-rights activists like to tell scary stories about the […]

Stanek weekend Q: What should a “pro-choice display” include?

13646_859809837409183_3837697128611125380_n

University of Texas-Arlington pro-abortion students have tried shutting down the Pro-Life Mavericks’ cross display with both petitions and vandalism, but to no avail.

They’ve now decided if they can’t beat ‘em, they’ll join ‘em. From The Shorthorn, March 21:

Why I’m protesting Speaker Boehner’s office on March 25

3576551_orig (1)March 22 will mark two months since the House was supposed to vote on the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act but didn’t.

All agree the word “debacle” would aptly describe the chain of events surrounding the GOP leadership’s last-minute decision to pull the 20-week abortion ban.

The first object of my wrath was one of the debacle’s ringleaders, Rep. Renee Ellmers, whose locked office I and others protested the day the glorious vote had been scheduled – January 22, the anniversary of Roe v Wade….

  • At Students for Life, Kristan Hawkins wonders what Michael Voris’ point was when he created an error-filled video which makes dubious claims about abortion and the pro-life movement. Hawkins says Voris is “irresponsible” and using “faulty logic” to claim “abortion numbers aren’t declining,” among other things. Hawkins backs up her rebuttal with links to the facts:

Not citing any sources, he proclaimed that chemical abortions aren’t tracked and comprise a quarter of all abortions. Therefore, he said, these must be added to the million+ abortions every year, which basically comes out to a number that shows abortions are not declining.

While Voris appears to make a convincing case in his six-minute video, he is wrong.

Voris: The problem with the pro-life movement is… Protestants?

by Carder Forty thousand differing denominations have sprung up in Martin Luther’s foul wake, each one believing it has the truth in its completeness. That is simply impossible. AHA’s dangerous foray into cyberbullying

Screen Shot 2015-03-09 at 3.23.21 PM

I’m writing today about the latest development in the Abolish Human Abortion saga, because I’m concerned someone may end up dead if this doesn’t stop.

Everyone who spends time online has heard the term “cyberbullying.” Defined, it is:

… bullying that takes place using electronic technology. Electronic technology includes devices and equipment such as cell phones, computers, and tablets as well as communication tools including social media sites, text messages, chat, and websites.

Examples of cyberbullying include mean text messages or emails, rumors sent by email or posted on social networking sites, and embarrassing pictures, videos, websites, or fake profiles.

Particularly note, “rumors… posted on social networking sites.”

  • At Bound4Life, Marisa Lengor Kwaning draws attention to the real war on women, which is happening on a global scale – from Boko Haram to gendercide:

Perhaps, unfortunately, we have gotten used to the fact that girls are going missing in huge numbers all around the world. Because the real war on women begins in the womb.

In India alone, one million girls are intentionally aborted each year because of their gender…. As a result, 50 million girls are missing in India today.

The lack of women has caused a drastic rise in sex trafficking and kidnapping of girls as brides to unwed men….

It would be flawed, however, to dismiss gendercide as an Asian or communist countries’ problem. From 1995-2005, fifteen hundred girls went missing among Indian communities in England and Wales. Topic experts agree that sex-selective abortions was the only viable explanation for this steep decline of girls….

And the issue persists today. It’s no wonder women and girls are kidnapped and attacked at alarming rates globally.

NPR ignores woman killed by clinic it showcases in abortion promo piece

2015-03-06_1130This is truly shocking, either a new low in yellow journalism or an incredible display of shoddy research.

The slant of the March 3 NPR article by Jennifer Ludden was in its title: “Abortion restrictions complicate access for Ohio women.”

Ludden worried “a steady stream of abortion restrictions over the past four years has helped close nearly half the state’s clinics that perform the procedure,” then went on to blame the state, not substandard clinics or abortionists.

Ironically, Ludden chose Preterm abortion clinic to showcase the hardships abortion clinics and aborting mothers must endure:

*Mar 15 - 00:05*

We need to establish in the public mind that… in abortion, there is NO doctor/patient relationship. The doctor is a technician there to perform a procedure that was sold before he even showed up.

He has no more relationship with that patient than a AAA member has with the tow truck driver who shows up when her car breaks down 500 miles from home.
