  • Secular Pro-Life has discovered some interesting nuggets in Planned Parenthood’s latest annual report. For instance, PP hails the box office flop Obvious Child as a “major victory.” They also boast of an increased college campus presence, bringing them to over 200 chapters. However, there are more than 4 times as many pro-life college campus groups. SPL’s personal favorite is the fact that PP credits their own organization with preventing an extra 1,000 unplanned pregnancies even though they show a decrease in dispensing contraceptives.

by Susie Allen, host of the blog, Pro-Life in TN, and Kelli Saynsumthn’s Blog says the CDC and Guttmacher abortion numbers don’t agree, and here’s why: the CDC gathers only data that is reported voluntarily from certain states. Guttmacher gathers much more comprehensive data, which is why their abortion numbers for the latest year available […]

  • ProWomanProLife says the Canadian Medical Association Journal is pushing for RU-486 in Canada as the answer to unequal access to surgical abortions. Apparently, “Health Canada has been considering approval of mifepristone (known as RU-486) since December 2012,” as “the drug is considered the gold standard for inducing safe and early non-surgical abortion.”

But PLPW points out that not all abortion supporters agree:

Three pro-abortion feminists wrote an incredibly well researched book entitled “RU486 – Myths and Misconceptions” in 1992, describing RU-486 as a “new form of medical violence that endangers women’s lives and violates their right to be free from bodily harm.”

  • Pro-Life Action League reports on the now-closed All Women’s Health in Chicago, run by abortionist Mandy Gittler (who was responsible for the death of Tonya Reaves at a Chicago Planned Parenthood). All Women’s has been accused of scamming women who visited for pap smears and health exams.

  • At ProLife365, Kevin Kukla responds to those who complain pro-lifers are “single issue voters,” as if that’s somehow a bad thing when it comes to the most basic human right. He points to an illustration from Fr. Frank Pavone of Priests for Life:

  • Pro-Life Action League says now, more than ever, we need to use the images of abortion victims in pro-life outreach:

Our opponents want the average person to think of abortion not just as something to be tolerated, but as something good. Needless to say, they definitely don’t want people to think about the unborn babies who are victimized by abortion. Indeed, they don’t want people to think abortion has any victims in the first place.Which is precisely why we must continue to show the pictures of abortion victims in the public square, for nothing elicits sympathy like pictures of the victims of injustice.

Do deaths from legal abortion matter to pro-choicers?

Exactly who perpetrated the fatal abortion doesn’t seem to pique the interest of those who want to hang her death around her distant-relative-by-marriage’s neck.

What I find particularly fascinating is that amid the obsession over Ann Keenan (obsession likely to arise again should [Mitt] Romney aim again for the White House) there is a blithe obliviousness of “safe and legal” abortion deaths.

Judging: The “only sin recognized in an abortion practice”

by Kelli Ronan tells more about the patients and their reactions to the abortions. Some cry and shake. One cheekily chatted up the abortion staff and offered them discounts at her jewelry store. Ronan finds the distressed ones much easier to work with, though she stresses that she is not judging the matter-of-fact ones. She […]
