Pro-life blog buzz 3-3-15

  • Live Action News says the new interactive game “Fusion” (on a website that includes writers like the founding editor of pro-abortion, profane Jezebel) in which players pretend to lead a South Dakota woman through several supposedly real-life scenarios – but they all suggest abortion is the correct answer to the dilemma. Hmm, no agenda there:

What if the woman does choose to keep the baby?

If she chooses to have the woman keep the baby, then she either still ends up having the abortion because of a partial placental abruption, or she has the baby and ends up sick, in premature labor, and with mountains of debt.

Pro-life blog buzz 1-20-15

by Susie Allen, host of the blog, Pro-Life in TN, and Kelli ProWomanProLife denounces the expansion of abortion in Canada via RU-486 “without any democratic process.” At ProLife365, Kevin Kukla discusses the life-saving potential of organ donation – but also lists four reasons why you might want to “rethink” your organ donor status. Secular Pro-Life […]

United Nations: Church’s position on abortion is “torture”

by Kelli According to the great and mighty UN, prohibiting abortion is a grave human rights abuse against women and the Vatican better do something about it. The one and only American on the U.N. Committee Against Torture, Felice Gaer [pictured], went even further by labeling the Church’s position on abortion was [sic] a form […]

Girl Scouts scrubs abortion, Planned Parenthood support from websites

Girl Scouts USA was a founding member of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts and is its largest member. In 2008 and 2009 over 60% of WAGGGS’ membership fees ($2.45 million and $2.3 million respectively) came from GSUSA.

Prominently displayed on every Daisy, Brownie, and Girl Scout uniform is the World Trefoil Pin, to “represent their connection to the worldwide sisterhood of Girl Scouting and Girl Guiding.” (Source for graphic here.)

Stanek weekend question: Should pro-lifers embrace economic liberalism?

money-babyNew York Times pro-life columnist Ross Douthat pitched an interesting idea this week:

WHAT happens to a modern society when abortion is restricted? This question is at the heart of the debate over Texas’s new abortion law, which bans abortions after 20 weeks and issues health regulations that could thin the ranks of state abortion clinics, making even first-trimester abortions harder to obtain….

“Women Deliver” speakers encourage poor women not to deliver

A billionaire and a princess graced the stage to tell nurses and clean water advocates that any effort to help poor women is secondary to giving them contraception and abortion. Sexual and reproductive rights are “at the core of human life,” said Princess Mary of Denmark. Until women have power not to have children, they […]

  • Secular Pro-Life writes that the CEO of Sir Richard’s condom company intends to donate one condom to a developing country for each condom purchased because “if everyone bought our condoms, we could really change the world.” SPL says:

According to the CDC, while condoms are highly effective at preventing HIV transmission, the typical use failure rate for condoms as a contraceptive is a dismal eighteen percent. People often fail to make that distinction, and therefore do not appreciate the chances of pregnancy as fully as they should. No doubt that misunderstanding will be magnified in a region that has little in the way of healthcare access and sex education.
