Breaking: Federal judge dismisses abortion clinic’s lawsuit against pro-life group for video parody

Read my previous posts on this here and here. In January 2011 the Center for Bio-Ethical Reform posted what it called “the most shocking 4-minute abortion debate you will ever see.” CBR juxtaposed a video produced by Northland Family Planning Centers touting “the goodness” of abortion with video cuts showing the reality of abortion. Northland […]

Former boy band member turned pro-life activist shares testimony

UPDATE 5/26, 8:20a: E! Online has posted a fair story on Brad’s pro-life stance. Add your comment! This is a story we can anticipate many who consider themselves “pro-choice” will read. At present comments are running 90% pro-life, a beautiful thing.

5/25:4:41p: Since yesterday liberal websites have been aghast at the news former Lyte Funky Ones boy band member Brad Fischetti (on the far right in photo) is now a pro-life activist.

Should pro-lifers buy Starbucks?

I see so many churches serving Starbucks coffee, and then talk about how pro-life they are. If you’re pro-life, you might want to reconsider giving patronage to Starbucks. Starbucks is a financial contributor to Planned Parenthood. Why not go to the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf instead? As far as I know, they don’t […]

43 Catholic institutions file lawsuits against HHS contraception mandate

From Modern Healthcare, today:

Catholic institutions across the country filed 12 federal lawsuits against HHS alleging the department’s mandate over contraception coverage for employer-provided health plans violated their religious freedoms.

The plaintiffs include 11-hospital Franciscan Alliance, Mishawaka, IN, and five-hospital Catholic Health Services of Long Island (NY).

The lawsuits were filed on behalf of 43 Catholic hospitals, schools and churches across the nation in U.S. District Court in eight states and in Washington, D.C.

Stanek weekend question: Do you think abortion should be a central worship service topic?

The pro-life film 180, which includes a couple graphic pictures of aborted babies, is now being shown during mega-church worship services, according to HeartChanger.com. From a May 15 press release:

Some of the largest churches in America are equipping their members to stand up for life by presenting the award-winning movie called “180.” The powerful video, by evangelist and best-selling author Ray Comfort, uses a simple line of questioning to help eight pro-abortion individuals change their minds and become pro-life… in seconds – something that apologist Greg Koukl has called “the Colombo Tactic at its finest.”

Abortionist announces he’s quitting the biz

UPDATE 5/21, 9:40a: Pro-life activist John Barros (via Jay Rogers on Facebook) is reporting Scott Spagnolo-Hye has not been seen at the abortion mill since Barros videotaped him announcing he was leaving the industry as of June 2. Barros reported a worker has told him Spagnolo-Hye has quit, and “they are now having to shuffle schedules and will not be open on Sundays for the foreseeable future.” Those praying for Spagnolo-Hye’s immediate departure from the abortion industry may have had their prayers answered.

5/9, 2:29p: Pro-lifers have interesting relationships with abortionists and abortion mill staff.

New social networking site: ProLifeBook

Those of us on Facebook have heard the stories – or even personally experienced – having status updates and graphics censored. I, myself, am cautious about posting abortion photos on Facebook, because I’ve heard they are a trigger for getting banned. (I still post them, but sparingly, and so far have escaped notice.)

And we’ve also heard or experienced having our videos banned on YouTube, classic examples being some of Live Action’s video exposés on Planned Parenthood.

Now, a new group, World Life Organization (of which I’ve been asked to be a board member) has introduced Prolifebook, a powerful and censor-safe social networking tool for pro-lifers and pro-life groups.

Stanek weekend question: How do we persuade pro-choicers?

It’s a decades-old question. How do we persuade abortion proponents?

Pro-choicer Julie was converted by the aborted babies themselves. I was just forwarded a video of Julie’s touching testimony, posted on YouTube March 1 by the Genocide Awareness Project. GAP came to the University of North Florida in 2009 and just made a return appearance, which was when Julie approached the team…
