World’s youngest surviving baby born in Miami

Little Amillia Taylor was born at the age of 22 weeks and six days, weighing only 10 oz. We know her exact age because she was conceived by in vitro fertilization. Four months later, weighing four pounds, Amilliia is being released from Baptist Children’s Hospital in Miami, Florida, today. How ironic that the world’s youngest [...]

IL Choose Life on hold again

The State of Illinois has decided to appeal Judge Coar’s Jan. 22 ruling stating SOS Jesse White must begin issuing Choose Life adoption specialty license plates within 30 days, by Feb. 21.  The State is throwing away the people’s money on a case that legal precedent has shown it will ultimately lose. Last Thursday, Judge [...]

Guest column: “The moral nonsecond”

by Bill Zettler Who are you? What defines your being? In metaphysics that question is part of ontology, the nature of being. Brown eyes, brown hair, the mole on your back, good at math, bad at grammar, what defines you as a person, defines your uniqueness? Twelve billion linked chemicals called nucleotides define you. Those [...]

Time: Cover story on pregnancy care centers

Time magazine is on the “new face of an old movement,” medically-modelled pregnancy care centers that perform ultrasounds and conduct STD testing. I read the article first from a pro-life activist’s perspective (me!) and thought it exceedingly placed pccs under a microscope and on the defensive. Would, for instance, that Time reported on undercover investigative [...]

Gone and hoped forgotten

A WorldNetDaily.com headline story yesterday expanded on my Feb 12 blog post, “Bodies of evidence,” about sidewalk counselors reporting a young father to Orlando police who brought his baby, accidentally aborted at home, to James Pendergraft’s Florida abortion mill. Police refused to act. According to Mat Staver of Liberty Counsel to WND, at least two [...]

Why not mandate condoms for boys?

It has’t seemed fair that liberal legislators are focusing solely on young girls in their attempts to mandate 3 vaccinations (well, maybe 6 or more, since they’ve only been proven to last 4 years) to stop 4 strains (of over 100) of one sexually transmitted disease, HPV. So when The New York Post

J LoughnerOne of the school’s deans reported to police a teacher’s concern about Loughner responding to a classmate’s poem about abortion.

“… Loughner had made comments in the class about abortion, wars, killing people, and ‘why don’t we just strap bombs to babies,’” the police report says. “[The dean] said that Loughner has a ‘dark personality’ and is kind of ‘creepy’ and they had resolved to just keep an eye on him.”

Still, a later report by Aubrey Conover, an “Advanced Program Manager” at Pima College, described talking with Loughner about his in-class abortion comments.

“He said that the class had been talking about abortion, which made him think of death, which made him think of suicide bombers, which made him think of babies as suicicde (sic) bombers,” that letter states. “We talked about how you need to give context to you (sic) statements, especially when deal (sic) with emotional issues. Jared said he would not say anothing (sic) in class.”
