Jill,
Thank you. You did a great job on that video. Loved the music! You captured all the highlights and I am thrilled that the mayor is taking this seriously!
Hooray! My hero and BFF!
Great job Jill as usual ( on the video and wnd piece). I wonder if the 2 people from “NOW” got down and prayed too?
Well, I thought pro lifers were the “losers” according to some. I sure can’t tell.
Doubt it Jasper,
But it look like some of the council member did!
Beautiful! Great choice of music, too.
Heather, I rented “office space”, that was very funny…thanks.
jasper, glad you liked it. You’ve got to see it like 5 times…..get’s even funnier. You should hear my impression of Milton and Lumberg. LOL!
“You should hear my impression of Milton and Lumberg. LOL!”
was Milton the guy who was obsessed with the red stapler? he was hillarious… LOL
yes! LOL!
Abortion accounts for 3% of Planned Parenthood’s services. Of the other 97%;
How many MORE abortions are you going to generate by denying women access to birth control?
How many women are you going to kill by denying them pap smears and breast exams?
How many women are you willing to kill by denying them HIV, STD, and Hepatitis testing – not to mention how many of these diseases would be spread without access to free or inexpensive condoms?
Yeah, close the clinic. I bet the thought of letting those sinners die slowly of cancer and infection gives you a self-righteous THRILL!
Abortion can contribute to breast cancer. As far as other screenings for STD’s, see a doctor. 3%? I don’t buy that.
How many more babies will die from abortion?
Off topic question:
Thinking down the road on Christian morality class and our final paper. Would like to talk about a facet (narrowed down topic) of abortion. But I’m thinking this far ahead because we write it in sections throughout the semester and I want to order some books now while I can.
Anyone have experience in one particular area that would be easy to write 10 pages about?
Are there any abortion scenarios depicted in classical literature that you have read?
Planned Parenthood, with 164 affiliates operating 915 clinics, is the largest abortion provider in the United States. Although not all clinics perform abortions, all refer and counsel for them.
Planned Parenthood performed 134,277 abortions in 1993. In contrast, a mere 9,943 women recieved prenatal care and Planned Parenthood’s 1994 Service Report does not even mention adoption.

Planned Parenthood: More Abortions, Fewer Clinics
By Randy Hall
CNSNews.com Editor
January 18, 2005
(CNSNews.com) – The Planned Parenthood Federation of America, the nation’s most frequent provider of abortions, is performing more of the procedures than ever — albeit in fewer clinics — and relying increasingly on the revenue generated from abortions, according to its Fiscal Year 2004 annual report.
With other services becoming marginalized in Planned Parenthood’s overall business, the organization relied on abortion for 34 percent of its clinic income from July 1, 2003, to June 30, 2004, up from 32 percent in Fiscal Year 2002 and FY 2003.
After a spike in private contributions two years ago, Planned Parenthood saw those donations drop 17 percent last year, but U.S. taxpayer assistance in the form of government grants reached record levels.
Numerous calls to Planned Parenthood offices in both New York City and Washington, D.C., seeking comment for this article, were not returned, but a survey of newspaper stories regarding the closing of 11 of the organization’s clinics during Fiscal Year 2004 revealed a common cause.
BTW, years ago I did go to PP for a pap test and breast exam. I also had some bloodwork done. IT WASN’T FREE! I had to pay cash!!
Amen
Jill – my daughter, Therese, and I left Elmhurst with plenty of time to get to the council meeting (we are cheesed that girls from York H.S. might go to Aurora’s mill as there are so many amenities; they may even be serving popcorn in the recovery rooms for the guests during the horror show right?), but because of three traffic jams we encountered, we didn’t arrive until 6:45. By that time, a sizeable line had formed outside and we could see there would be a hefty wait as it wasn’t moving at all. (No one was leaving which is good!) Anyway, Therese had signed up to talk which would have helped the age curve :) (she is 16), but she will be in attendance at the youth rally on Saturday. Hope you don’t mind that we put your video on our site. (Credits are in place.) Awesome, awesome job!!!
Outcome of Aurora City Council meeting
Joe’s Lab gives a good synopsis of the Aurora City Council meeting last night. I’ve asked Diane to repost her comment from another blog entry, because she gave a good synopsis, too. I’ve posted a photo montage. And I am…

According to the American Cancer Society, you are wrong.
From the Beacon:
‘Staff will offer comprehensive women’s health services, including gynecological services, birth control counseling and prescriptions, testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections, pelvic exams and Pap smears, cervical cancer testing, educational sessions for parents, community organizations and teens — and abortion services, which already have the clinic embroiled in controversy.
Educational sessions for parents, youth and community groups will be offered on topics such as how to talk to children about sex, sex education, saying “no” to sex, dating violence, and emotional issues involved in dating and sex.’
Still have a problem with 3%?
As for your flippant remark that women can just see a Dr, well way to say that you feel that poor women deserve to die from from disease and gyn problems. Nice.
BTW, years ago I did go to PP for a pap test and breast exam. I also had some bloodwork done. IT WASN’T FREE! I had to pay cash!!
Posted by: Heather at August 29, 2007 4:22 PM
Did you pay the same amount that a private Dr and screening labs would have charged you?
You bet! I was stunned @ the grand total.
Sally, I didn’t say that it was okay for poor women to die. You can go to the Free Clinic.
How many MORE abortions are you going to generate by denying women access to birth control?
How many women are you going to kill by denying them pap smears and breast exams?
How many women are you willing to kill by denying them HIV, STD, and Hepatitis testing – not to mention how many of these diseases would be spread without access to free or inexpensive condoms?/i>
Ah Laura, Laura, Laura, I was waiting for your alarmist reply. Your argument presents the False Delimma fallacy
Women all of a sudden won’t stop being able to receive these services, even low-income women. In addition to a number of private ob/gyn practices which take Medicaid and offer various means of assistance of their own, a number of communities also have public family planning (which do not provide abortions) and health clinics operated through local hospitals. Yes, I do believe women should be able to receive low-cost primary care, gynelogical, and prenatal services. Why not support clinics which provide these necessary services, but which do not loudly politically lobby nor provides abortion services.
Yeah, close the clinic. I bet the thought of letting those sinners die slowly of cancer and infection gives you a self-righteous THRILL!
Tsk, tsk, tsk, bitter, are we? Don’t forget we’re human beings too, with similar lives, jobs, and interests, eventhough we may hae differing political views. Don’t be so niave and quick to put misleading/false words in our mouths and paint us as monsters.
Educational sessions for parents, youth and community groups will be offered on topics such as how to talk to children about sex, sex education, saying “no” to sex, dating violence, and emotional issues involved in dating and sex.’

Jill and Mods, many of my posts with links I think are going automatically into a spam folder or overlooked, for they aren’t being approved even after a week!
Rachael, I think a lot of us were having trouble. Mine was posting slow.

There ya go!
Rachel,
I’m so sorry. I can fix ’em and repost ’em, but I don’t know why it’s happening. Always let us know if it happens. It’s just a matter of me telling the computer that it’s okay to publish them…
I’ve reposted them here to make sure people see them!
Rachel,
You’re links didn’t show up…if anyone wants to see them you’ll have to scroll up to where they were originally posted.
May this clinic stay closed or just perform real women’s care, not killing of babies.
I think its absolutely ridiculous that someone would consider denying a women abortion the same as denying them a pap smear or treatment for cancer. Pregnancy isn’t a disease, it the creation of a human being. Sadly, too many people have yet to understand that and label it with scientific terms that they absolutely know nothing about. They never look at is what’s there, and just like they generalize pro-lifers they are generalizing everything that can be done on a woman as woman’s care, even though it can be detrimental to their health.
Refer to the Woman’s Right to Know handbook, where PP agreed to disribute medical accurate data that concludes a 3rd trimester abortion is more dangerous than actual child birth. Just type in search and Woman’s Right to Know handbook – Minnesota Dept of Public Health and you will receive what millions of women in Illinois are being denied when they go to an abortion clinic.
JILL PRO-LIFERS OF ILLINOIS NEED TO PUSH FOR A WOMAN’S RIGHT TO KNOW. IT HAS PROVEN TO REDUCE ABORTIONS, WOMEN AT LEAST WOULD BE REQ’D TO READ WHAT IS SUCKED OUT WHEN AN ABORTION IS PERFORMED. I CAUSED MYSELF TO MISCARRY WHEN I WAS 16 YEARS OLD, AND DIDN’T FEEL THE PAIN UNTIL I HAD MY 2ND BABY. THESE WOMEN MAY THINK THAT ITS ALL GOOD, UNTIL THEY DO HAVE CHILDREN (IF THEY CAN MY SISTER WAS AN UNFORTUNATE SCARRED VICTIM OF RU-486)AND START TO REALIZE THAT EACH BABY IS DIFFERENT EVEN IN THE WOMB.
Sally, “Paris Hilton is jealous of me.” LOL! In your imagination!
Posted by: Heather at August 29, 2007 6:51 PM
You are a jealous and insecure sillyhead now aren’t you? I’m quite attractive and the one and only time that I came in contact with Paris she gave me the distinct impression that she would have liked to join the party I was a part of. I felt bad for her. Not enough to join my daughter’s wedding celebration.
Ah, WE HAVE THEM IN MY STATE!

Groovy for you and you conscience. You don’t have to do anything but sit back and pontificate.

Backed off the free assertion now have you? I don’t live in Indiana. I wouldn’t want to.

You are Johnny one note. Dumber than a box of rocks. Nothing to say beyond abusive shit. Yes, your type frosts me up.
Sally, you might get some respect if you gave some. Why must you always come on swinging? I get tired of your snide remarks.
Posted by: Heather at August 29, 2007 7:02 PM
I find it fascinating that children call their elders disrespectful for not bowing down to a brat head’s re-invention of religion and childish concept of life. I come up swinging because I have been put in the position of needing to do so. Why do you feel that you want to put me in that position?
Sally,
would you ever consider being an abortionist?
Let’s see if she has the courage to answer (yes or no)
“childish concept of life”
yes, I do have a childish concept of life, what little child would think abortion is OK.
Sally,
would you ever consider being an abortionist?
Posted by: jasper at August 29, 2007 8:58 PM
Yes of course. I would have liked to have been drawn to the medical field that might have saved my gr grandma’s life and my mother’s suffering over giving birth to dead ‘babies’. Much more, I would have liked to have saved them death and emotional trauma by providing such services.
What would be your agenda be if you could attain a medical liscense of any kind?
Backed off the free assertion now have you? I don’t live in Indiana. I wouldn’t want to.
Actually, if you’d gone beyond snide comments and visited the links, you’d see that these clinics serve the poor and homeless and offer services for free and based on a sliding fee scale (funded by public taxes) similar to PP’s. I’d gladly financially support the efforts of these clinics (if I weren’t poor myself) or volunteer my time.
Thank you for re-posting my posts, MK, and fortuantly the posts in their entirity (including links did appear above) :-)
Sally,
You’re the one calling us childish names, talking condescendingly, and acting full of herself and yet claiming to be the mature one. Just a word of advice, age doesn’t always reflect maturity, as in your case. Now can we get back to an adult conversation?
I come up swinging because I have been put in the position of needing to do so. Why do you feel that you want to put me in that position?
I don’t see anyone here physically threatening you, nor resorting to your childish name calling. Tell me, are you threatened by others *gasp* holding world views different than your own? And no one is responsible for your words actions, but you. After all, isn’t that what the pro-choicers are always crying for, “personally responsibility” that is except for when it comes to themselves.
Sorry, mods, I know I shouldn’t feed the troll, but it’s so fun!
Jasper: “Sally, would you ever consider being an abortionist?”
Sally: “Yes of course.”
Thank you for your honesty Sally.

Sorry little Rachael I have not called anyone a ‘name’. Intereresting that you would resort to such an inference. So desperatly immmature of you.
If you want adult disscusion prove you are an adult capable of such.
I want to tell you what an awesome job you did. My mother and I stayed until the last person spoke. I am sure there are many more that could not attend. My little girl once told me at another abortion mill that we were praying at, “Mommy, I wish there were enough people to go around the building and pray the Rosary, then it will fall down.” I only wish that could happen at PP and you can bet your a** that I want to be there!
Sally,
Since you agreed that you would in fact consider being an abortionist, would you have done this abortion:

bortion can contribute to breast cancer. As far as other screenings for STD’s, see a doctor. 3%? I don’t buy that.

Still have a problem with 3%?
Yes, I do…and here’s why…
Here is the website for the 2005-2006 report http://www.plannedparenthood.org/files/PPFA/Annual_report.pdf
The total number of services provided was 10,112,642
However the total number of clients served was 3,051,144
That is a discrepancy of 7,061,498 This means on average one client averaged more than 3 services.
Since it is not very likely, although it does happen, that a person would have 2 abortions in a year, we will assume that the abortion clients did not duplicate any numbers for the abortion. This means that 8.6% of services are for abortion. (take the number of abortions and divide by clients served to get percentage)
Now – since all abortions have to have a pregnancy test done, there is a duplicate. AND most abortion clients go on some sort of contraception after the abortion so that is another duplicate. So, take the number of abortions and multiply by three and then you get that they actually do 7.8% of services are abortion. (The number multiplied by three is then divided by the total services)
But wait…there’s more!
So based on generalization the percentages of abortions is around 8% and not 3%. However, that number is probably a lot higher because the abortion clients probably had more services than just this. Can we say STD testing? Also, how do they compile there contraception numbers? Is it counted as 1 for every patient on the pill for a year, or is it counted as 12 for the number of contraception prescriptions wrote for one patient? The higher the number of services, the lower the percentage on the procedures. This would make the abortion percentage significantly higher. Just look at all the services and see how many of them may not be duplicated. Some of the Pap’s may have been a one time, one service visit. This means that one of the other clients would have had 5 services to make up for the lost 2 services for the one time only client.. Make sense? How many abortion clients have 5 services and not 3? etc…..
Statistics are so easily manipulated it is scary. Unless all the data received is based on absolute facts, any number can be “proven” as a statistic.
Someone needs to look at the Freedom of Information Act and find out if we are able to get the complete itemized report. This will let us know the true number.
Morning MK,
Great info. They keep trying to use the 3% figure like it’s nothing, but the Aurora clinic stated (I believe) that they will plan on doing 9000 abortions in that clinic alone per year. Those are no small numbers. They will have abortion seeking women running through that mill like a candy factory.
Not to mention, how many women who are raped get abortions? Something like .000001%, yet they keep harping on that statistic like it’s HUGE.
The income brought in by abortion makes up over 30% of their total revenue, which has been brought up many times over but that figure doesn’t seem to be taken seriously by the PCers
Sally, please get over yourself.
thanks Sandy,
But the credit goes to Val…I’m just the messenger!

“Try to figure out how to pull up your socks simple minded fool.”
I put one sock on at a time, I put my toes in first, then I pull the sock around the heel and up…..How’d I do?
Now leave your Daddy out of this, you’re a grown women Sally.
Jasper -LOL! Sally wrote “I am quite attractive you sillyhead.”…. Gee I haven’t heard “sillyhead” since the 3rd grade or so. You may be attractive, but you’re also very self absorbed and selfish. Beauty fades, and then what have you got?
Really, Sally, would you be this verbally abusive and condescending to someone in person? I say not (because chances are you’d get punched for saying thatt someone’s face), but rather you hide behind the anonimity of the internet to make snide comments and insults.
Rachael
Sally, at 50 years old, you sure have a lot of growing up to do.
