The title of this story is favorable, implying there is no question Planned Parenthood Aurora committed a cover-up, just whether it was justified.
Cecile is lying, of course, about the Austin mill. PP is anti-choice when it comes to contractors and workers having the freedom to decide whether to help build their abortuaries. In Austin, when they knew, they declined.
PP didn’t give contractors and workers In Aurora the choice. I wish they could sue for violating some right to something. Maybe they can. I don’t know if I could handle finding out I had unknowingly helped with abortion.

Planned Parenthood: Concealed Name to Protect New Clinic’s Construction Workers
Sept. 19, 2007….
In the leafy community of Aurora, Ill., nestled between the supermarket and a housing development, sits the epicenter of the current battle over abortion.
For more than a month now, anti-abortion activists have held round-the-clock vigils to prevent the opening of Planned Parenthood’s largest medical clinic in the country.
Some residents and city leaders feel deceived because, through much of the building process, the property owner was listed as Gemini Office Development, and not Planned Parenthood.
“This is their new strategy. They know they’re not welcome. Nobody wants an abortion clinic in their backyard,” Eric Scheidler of the Pro Life Action League told ABC’s Barbara Pinto.
Planned Parenthood denies they’ve deceived anyone. “Planned Parenthood was entirely truthful, and followed the letter of the law in opening this facility,” said Steve Trombley, president of Planned Parenthood’s Chicago office.
The group said it purposely didn’t put its name on the project for safety reasons, using the name of one of its divisions instead after workers at a Texas clinic came under attack.
“These same protesters from around the country harassed folks who were pouring concrete,” said Cecile Richards, president of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America.
To the Courts
The clinic is intended to provide counseling and a number of medical services, in addition to abortions, and now, a federal judge will decide whether they can open the facility. The city is also investigating its permit process.
“None of the city officials or elected officials were aware that Planned Parenthood would be the tenant in this building,” said Aurora’s public information officer, Carie Ann Ergo.
They say they were unaware, even though the plans included a surgical center, bulletproof glass and numerous security cameras.
In the meantime, those in the neighborhood have grown weary of the national attention and the protests.
“I’m just tired of seeing them. They’ve been there ever since the building’s been there. I just wish they’d go home,” commented Kelly Sampson. “I’m tired of seeing their signs.”
But given this pitched battle on abortion, the protesters could be here a while.

How generous of Big Brother PP to protect the construction workers from their own morality and consciences!
Wouldn’t want details like personal ethics to get in the way of a job.
There’s an idea for a law, or at least a city or county ordinance: If you are building something a substantial number of people find morally repugnant, you have an obligation to disclose this when hiring contractors. Applay to porn venders, places that sell booze, abortion clinics, etc.
It should be a violation of a First Amendment right to practice religion to hide information like that.
PP trys to make themselves look like the victim so everyone may feel sorry for them. Well NOT in this lifetime!
I live in Austin, TX and I know where that PP is. The one that they were talking about where construction stopped after one of the workers went on strike. That thing looks like a fortress. My husband and I both agree it looks like the Auschwitz death camp. It almost has the same building structure. It’s just so scary.
I didn’t even know there were any pro-life people here since I know Austin is a very liberal city with their hippies and all. I even attended this screening here in a book store for a film about women who had abortions. It was the documentary of “The Abortion Diaries” and let me tell you, there were more pro-choicers than pro-life people.
A woman who attended was I’m guessing the founder, or worker, some type of volunteer to this organization that is set up here in Central Texas called “The Lilith Fund” that helps to raise funds for little girls and women who are “in need” of an abortion. I was shocked to learn that. They have their own blog about “true abortion stories” and I read one where there was this 13-14 year old girl who was 28-32 weeks (sometime around that time frame) who I’m guessing her mom wanted her to get an abortion.
Through this whole story there is nothing mentioned about the girl wanting the abortion. It just states that the mother needed the money to take her child to the Austin PP. When they got there, supposedly she she was so tiny and skinny, the procedure was going to cost extra. Who knows what happened tot his little girl. But that shows you proof they don’t care how or who would get an underage girl pregnant. As long as they are paid what they want, they will kill another innocent life.

The First Amendment (and the others) apply only to the government. A private organization like Planned Parenthood or even a pornographer cannot violate the First Amendment.
I understand the concept you and Christinia are advocating. I might be okay with a law that prohibits misleading your employees and contractors about the nature of your organization. People should be free to opt out of work they don’t agree with. I’d be offended to find out I was working for Focus on the Family if I thought I was just helping out the local pet shop.

How is PP preventing you from practising your flavor of religion? What would you do with your life if you couldn’t obsess about conceptii all day long? Become a Morman and take on Starbucks for serving their evil caffene? Victoria’s Secret for their unJesus like underwear? You don’t even live in Aurora JIll. The new clinic has absolutely no effect upon you. None. Zip. Zilch. Zed. Nada.
