The new black
About this year’s Academy Awards Moviefone reported, “Baby-on-board is the new black in Hollywood,” a pretty funny line.
Enjoying Tinsel Town’s swell of pregnancy pride while it lasts, here were the baby bumps spotted at the Oscars:

Nicole Kidman…

For bauble fans, Kidman’s necklace contained 7645 diamonds including rough, faceted, and polished diamonds, totalling ~1400 carats, according to Fox Business, adding:
Each diamond was individually selected… to fit together into an overall design. The intricate design required in excess of 6200 man hours to handcraft.

I am SO gonna get knocked up and buy the cutest maternity clothes.
I don’t like Nicole Kidman’s necklace.
It’s a brilliant mess!
oops…forgot to add:
But the baby UNDER that necklace is what’s priceless!
Yeah, that necklace is kind of goudy.
I didn’t at all like Jon Stewart’s jokes concerning the moms there.
zeke,
I didn’t watch it this year. What did Jon Stewart say?
“I am SO gonna get knocked up and buy the cutest maternity clothes”
Maternity clothes suck unless you got some serious money to spend.
These women want children and can obviously provide for them. More power to ’em. But for the most part these women wont be the ones raising their children – not the way most of the people posting here view ‘raising their own’. These kids will be raised by nannies and governesses and live in baby sitters and private tutors and go to private schools while their parents live their own lives.

Well now isn’t that the definition of Motherhood @@
JLM,
it wasn’t that bad.
I think it’s very cool that pregnant women have been allowed to show their pregnant selves rather than hiding away at home. I remember when showing a pregnant woman on television was considered obscene at most and bad taste at least.
Oh yes…let’s all rejoice over these rich, pregnant celebrities whose kids will be raised by nannies, go to private schools, etc. while the mommies and daddies go to their premiere’s, go on their Cayman Island vacations, get their plastic surgeries, ad nauseum.
This pagaentry of their pregnancies is nothing more than ONE MORE way they scream, “LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME! IT’S ALL ABOUT ME! ME! ME! ME!
Puh-leeeeeeeeeeeze…When is this infatuation going to END already ???
Mike, I have no interest in these celebrities, and couldn’t identify the women in those photos without a caption (and still don’t recognize most of the names). Still, I don’t expect that the public’s infatuation with famous people will end anytime soon.
I personally don’t care if they’re pregnant, post-abortive, or virginal.
Mike,
Yes, and the way bloggers just eat it up, devoting multiple posts to the pregnancies of celebrities. Enough, already!
Jessica Alba is such a frackin’ gorgeous pregger.
But her knockers look like they may pop out of that dress.
But who cares really..it’s Jessica Alba.
I love bi-racial people.lol…yep I’m SO biased.
And come on people…relax a little.
Why you get your panties in a bunch over celebrities I’ll never know. Don’t take it SO seriously.
How can we NOT take all this in-your-face celebrity GARBAGE seriously, when every time we turn on the tv, or the radio, or the internet, stand in line at the grocery store, walk past a newspaper stand, see a billboard, open a magazine, or look at a bus, we are BOMBARDED with their stupid faces, anorexic bodies, mug shots, latest plastic surgery pictures….
THEY’RE EVERYWHERE. It’s no wonder this country is in the mess it’s in…when this is what we deem “newsworthy”.
Mike,
I don’t take it seriously because they really don’t matter. Your ranting in itself makes it seem like they do. That’s attention in and of itself. So, see: you’re giving them attention too, and it may be negative attention, but it’s still attention nonetheless.
“I think it’s very cool that pregnant women have been allowed to show their pregnant selves rather than hiding away at home. I remember when showing a pregnant woman on television was considered obscene at most and bad taste at least.”
Sally, I agree. Let’s let them have their fun night at the Oscars.
Youve got to wonder what would happen if someones water broke when she was up there on the stage receiving or presenting an award … *snicker*
TR,
No kidding! I bet they’ve come prepared, just in case.
“And the Oscar goes to…”
:splash:
LOL!
Most American families don’t raise their own kids, either. Low paid “daycare” strangers do it, while parents (many divorced) live their own lives at work. Our public schools are a disgrace because of the local and national level politicians YOU voted in. Celebrities have what most of us have, the only difference is the price tag. (You did pay the big bucks to sit through their smutty movies, didn’t you?) And, they thank you…with repeat performances bloodier and more offensive than the last.
Remember, it is still perfectly legal to ABORT their “child” up to the 9th month. “She’s having a baby! She is with child!” Oh, yeah? How so? The law says it is ???? what ???? something else ??? something that is nothin’ till it’s born. 5 thousand of those “baby bumps” are aborted every month in US. Legally!
WE don’t deem this shallow celebrity stuff newsworthy! The Media-Hens feed it to us! THEY dig the stuff! Kickbacks are involved, folks.
The Oscar’s are a glamour brush on the blood, vulgarity, and smut they produce. What a mind screw!
Zeke: I didn’t at all like Jon Stewart’s jokes concerning the moms there.
@@ This from Mister:
Most girls are emotionally unstable to begin with
Oy vey….
Agreed, JLM – Kidman’s necklace was a dang mess!
I’ve pretty much worshipped Jessica Alba since I first saw her.
