Happy Labor Day!
Daughter Daena flew in from DC for the weekend. She and both daughters-in-law, Bernadine and Lisa, celebrate birthdays between September 1-5, so we will behold one brightly lit birthday cake this afternoon at a family party.
I mentioned before Daena is a presidential writer. She wrote the President’s Labor Day message this year. Bearing in mind Daena’s dad is an engineer and her mom a nurse makes a portion of this message a personal shout out to her parents, which was sweet:
Presidential Message, Labor Day 2008
I send greetings to all Americans celebrating Labor Day 2008…
In America, all citizens have an opportunity to forge their own paths forward, and their success is limited only by the size of their dreams. From engineering to healthcare and from small businesses to education, the American people are the most industrious, enterprising, and productive in the world. These talented and innovative workers provide for their families and play a vital role in building a more prosperous future for our country. By trusting in the ingenuity and creativity of America’s risk-takers and dreamers, our country will remain the most vibrant, hopeful, and dynamic around the globe.
Each year on Labor Day, we honor the dedicated men and women of our Nation’s workforce. Their determined efforts add to the strength and vitality of our country and build a brighter future for America.
Laura and I send our best wishes.
GEORGE W. BUSH
Have a great Labor Day, and Happy Birthday Daena, Lisa, and Bernadine!

Congrat’s to Mom and Dad — and props to Daena, laboring these days in the White House!
A much, much better parentage than Barack Obama’s, as attested by this reporter:
http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=068_1220191935
And speaking of parentage, the McCain campaign just confirmed that Palin’s 17 year old daughter is pregnant out of wedlock, and plans to marry the father. If that sounds familiar, it is the same story as Britney Spear’s sister.
Guess that abstinence only, no birth control philosophy worked out great.
And the pictures of Sarah Palin in a patriotic bikini holding a gun are going viral on the internet.
And no, I couldn’t possibly be making any of this up. I don’t have a wild enough imagination.
LTL: “Guess that abstinence only, no birth control philosophy worked out great.”
Because we all know that there have never been pregnancies resulting from the trust in BC!!
By the way…Palin is pro-BC. You have already been called on it once. Im sure you will disappear again though.
Again I ask you, are you one of Obama’s paid bloggers?
And speaking of “going viral,” LTL: feel free to relate the (un)success rates of birth control measures, in preventing HIV, HPV, etc.
LTL: “And the pictures of Sarah Palin in a patriotic bikini holding a gun are going viral on the internet.”
And this is relevant how? Oh right I forgot…the Democratic party actually likes to degrade women in power. Good show once again LTL!!
Jill:
Thank your daughter for giving engineers some well deserved recognition.
LTL:
Well, if Palin’s daughter were indeed being punished by pregnancy and the Palin’s were Democrats they would have killed the baby and you Libs could have been able to hide just one more sin. I mean image is everything isn’t it?
I am a pro-life conservative. If my daughter got pregnant out of wedlock she would have the baby and I could care less what anyone thought of her or us. That precious life is worth more than the whole world.
This just goes to show who Obama and his followers really are.
Keep doing that stuff because it’s going to backfire in your faces.
Quite the Labour Day announcement …
Snerd
Snerd,
Got it. Haha!
Good news for the McCain camp. If Sarah Palin has to pull out (as her future son in law should have done), there are two equally qualified female VP candidates waiting.
Dina Lohan and Lynn Spear have both confirmed they are available as soon as their reality show contracts are up.
Given the ongoing hilarity, I must change my acronym from LTL to
LOL,
You must be “hilarious” from a few weeks ago! You are not.
Slow news day, in the past couple of hours it is reported that Palin’s hubby has a drunk driving arrest, that she supported the “bridge to nowhere” until it became a national joke, that she was threatened with recall as mayor of Wasilla, after firing the police chief and head of the library for not supporting her election…
Oh, and she was the head of a 527 raising money for Ted Stevens, currently under felony indictments for fraud and bribes…
Nice job John McCain. I can’t wait until tomorrow, when the media is back at work…
Tune in Faux tonight, when Sean Hannity declares drunk driving, illegitimacy, political graft and bribes are exactly what American needs
Is there anyone left in the Republican Party who has the brains and character to bring this comedy to a halt? Of course not…
“Guess that abstinence only, no birth control philosophy worked out great.”
This fact might not penetrate your skull, but some people actually LIKE babies and are happy for the Palin family. I’ve said for years that any new life is cause for celebration, not shame. Teen pregnancy isn’t a social ill, like drive-by shootings, AIDS, or drug use. This is the beginning of a new life, whereas those others are life-destroying.
“And speaking of “going viral,” LTL: feel free to relate the (un)success rates of birth control measures, in preventing HIV, HPV, etc.”
Arlen…you make a valid point, BC pills don’t prevent HIV or HPV, but BC pills were never meant to prevent STIs. You could also write about how terrible they are since they don’t make you grow a unicorn in your backyard, but that is also not one of their purposes. They are there to help prevent pregnancy, and when used correctly, they do that job quite well. Feel free to cite some source that says 50% of people on the pill get pregnant or whatever…some people don’t use the pill as well as they should…all I know is that after years of research, it shows that if you use the pill perfectly, your risk is less than 1%
I honestly wish Bristol Palin the best. I’m sure it’s incredibly difficult to be in her shoes with all this media attention. She’s very lucky she has the love and support of her family, as well as the financial resources from them to raise a child. So many teen moms-to-be aren’t so lucky!
Lots of Lard:
It’s a shame that the media doesn’t spend 1/10 the time outing their prince of darkness as they do in trying to discredit a truly decent women leader.
All the $hit you’re throwing around is going to come back in your faces ten fold.
common @ 4:32,

Did you know that a very high percentage of abortions are results of “failed birth control”?
– – – – – – – –
I heard a talk show host on the radio this afternoon who lambasted Sarah Palin for having the nerve to get pregnant at age (GASP!) 44, when she already has FOUR children. He was concerned that she may never know this fifth child of hers. Please!
He should know that women cannot control their fertility all of the time. I’m curious if he would have recommended abortion for Palin. Maybe I’ll send him an email and ask.

What is truly amazing is how the pro-abort (note, I didn’t say pro-choicer) agenda has become completely transparent. They don’t like babies; they hate women who love babies. Reproduction is evil in their eyes. They are happiest when they are knocking the traditional family. They still don’t get the fact that when you aren’t reproducing, your kind eventually dwindles to nothing. They are on the fast train to nowhere.
Janet, who are these pro-aborts? If you admit that they are different than pro-choicers, who simply support a woman’s right to choose but would never tell her which choice to make, I have to wonder, have you really ever met someone who looked you dead in the eye and said “Hi Janet, how are you? Look, I really hate babies. Reproduction is terrible. How about the entire human race dies out? Yep, because I hate all babies, even the ones that are the products of loving marriages and that are desperately wanted!”
Seriously…find me a “pro-abort” who would tell a married woman, thrilled with her pregnancy, to have an abortion. You seemed to describe the kind of person who would say “a baby is a baby, get rid of it” I truly don’t think “pro-aborts” exist, at least in the extreme way you’ve described. Everyone can agree that abortion is a scenario no one should have to face, we just have different views of how to go about that (I say comprehensive sex ed so kids know how to use condoms and are better able to communicate in a relationship, you say make abortion illegal so it’s not an option)
Not that you implied this, but to make a point: Democrats as an entity are not “pro-aborts” and pro-choicers aren’t “pro-aborts”- I just really don’t think there’s a person out there rubbing his hands together with glee at the thought of aborting all fetuses of the next generation.
common,
Pro-aborts are NARAL, Planned Parenthood, Abortionists, and anyone else who makes their living off of abortion; politicians whose voting records support abortion, people who stand on sidewalks and shout obscenities at pro-lifers. I have seen them face-to-face. The list goes on…
Everyone can agree that abortion is a scenario no one should have to face, we just have different views of how to go about that (I say comprehensive sex ed so kids know how to use condoms and are better able to communicate in a relationship, you say make abortion illegal so it’s not an option)
Anyone who says “I wouldn’t choose abortion for myself, but I can’t tell others what to do” is showing a FALSE COMPASSION. You can’t love someone and be silent about their decision to abort. I’ve heard people on this blog say “We have too many people in the world already, not enough resources, we have to keep abortion as an option”. We need to make abortion UNACCEPTABLE. Take it off the table as an option.
Seriously…find me a “pro-abort” who would tell a married woman, thrilled with her pregnancy, to have an abortion.
This happens every day. Pro-abort doctors tell women they should abort when Downs Syndrome is suspected. Ninety-percent of DS babies diagnosed are aborted today. (There are cases where the diagnosis has been wrong and the aborted baby comes out with no signs of DS.) In the case of rape, sometimes women are encouraged to abort their innocent child who has no responsibility for the way they were conceived. That’s pro-abortion.
By the way, did you read my previous post at 9:12? The talk show host’s comments that I refer to are what got me started! His attitude was rude and condescending to women, don’t you think?
Oliver, I find it really interesting that LTL will not respond to your question (11:56).
Bethany,
Well it is a known fact that Obama uses grassroots negative attacks. My mother-in-law who was a Hilary supportor and who has come over to the Republican side because of Barack has a lot to say about his shady ways. Im hoping that when he loses that it all comes out, ending his career.
Way to go mother-in-law!!!!
