Quote of the Day, June 26, 2009
Women should be able to mourn the loss of an aborted fetus without having to confess anything. God, unlike what the liturgy states, also rejoices that women facing unplanned pregnancies have the freedom to carefully choose the best option – birth, adoption or abortion – for themselves and their families.
~ Episcopalian priest, Rev. Nina Churchman, as quoted by Examiner.com, June 24

I beg to differ with Ms. Churchman…The God I know-Creator of all mankind- does not rejoice over an abortion due to an unplanned pregnancy. Rather, He tells us to “Choose Life.”
A pro-choice quote of the day!?
That’s something I never thought I would see on this blog!
Talula, we often post quotes by pro-aborts, just to show how ludicrous they are, such as the above.
Well I like it :-)
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. Psalm 139:13-16
Did not he who made me in the womb make them? Did not the same one form us both within our mothers? Job 31:15
This is what the LORD says—he who made you, who formed you in the womb, and who will help you. Isaiah 44:2
That woman as well as Katherine Ragsdale (along with many others I am sure) are teaching a lie. They need our prayers.
I read a similar article a couple nights ago in an email from Life Site News. Episcopal Rev. Nina Churchman said not only that abortion is not a sin and, but that God “rejoices” when women elect to abort their children.
Commenting on a proposed rite for post-abortive women in the Episcopal church, she was disappointed the rite was “couched in terms of sin and transgression,” saying it “conflicts with church theology,” and went on to say, “God, unlike what the liturgy states, also rejoices that women facing unplanned pregnancies have the freedom to carefully choose the best option – birth, adoption or abortion – for themselves and their families.”
Earlier this year in April, Episcopal Rev. Katherine Ragsdale, gave a speech that emphasized “abortion is a blessing.”
I’m dumbfounded. Abortion has become so sanitized the Episcopal church says not only is it not a sin, it’s also elevated it to a blessing. This is beyond belief.
How tragic. And how unbiblical. What part of, “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you,” or Ephesians 1:5 or any number of other Scripture verses does this “priestess” not understand? Tragic, tragic, tragic.
Well, being pro-abortion requires a certain amount of delusion on the part of the individual. This is a perfect example.
This is one of the most horrible quotes I’ve ever read. It ranks right up there with (former Planned Parenthood president) Faye Wattleton’s infamous “Women are not stupid … women have always known that there was a life there.”

Hey, look- commenting on the quote of the day. That’s nice. :)
But, in all frankness, this quote saddens me for obvious reasons. How depressing for anyone to be pleased with bigotry, particularly in the name of God. God, I do believe, decides things according to His own mind, and so it is possible that God is neither pro-choice nor pro-life, but I doubt that he favors laws (read: Roe v. Wade) that remove equality, grace, and acceptance from anyone, but especially underprivileged children, like abortion has.
Wis 1:13-15; 2:23-24
God did not make death,
nor does he rejoice in the destruction of the living.
For he fashioned all things that they might have being;
and the creatures of the world are wholesome,
and there is not a destructive drug among them
nor any domain of the netherworld on earth,
for justice is undying.
For God formed man to be imperishable;
the image of his own nature he made him.
But by the envy of the devil, death entered the world,
and they who belong to his company experience it.
