Quote of the Day, June 27, 2009
When this government is in the red, red ink up to our eyeballs, we don’t have money to pay for the intentional murder of unborn children.
~ Rep. Michele Bachmann and her colleagues in the House Pro-Life Women’s Caucus railed against a proposal by President Obama to loosen restrictions put in place by the Dornan Amendment, which prevents women on public assistance in the nation’s capital from undergoing abortion procedures.
As quoted by Minnesota Independent, June 24
No one could honestly force tax money to pay for abortions, could they? How is that possible when schools are falling down around children’s heads, roads are in terrible conditions, and people are getting evicted from their homes? Abortion is no priority. It has no need for public funding.
While I personally don’t see a forced tax on it, if it were ever to happen then taxpayers have every right to say what happens with their tax dollars- meaning that everything about abortion becomes public property, and people should have, at the very least, the right to protest the centers again.
Michele Bachmann is one gutsy lady & a super mom to boot (5 children, 23 foster children). When the left takes pot shots at her for speaking truths few people want to acknowlegde, you know she’s hitting too close to home.
Vannah, the cry will be, “What about the poor women who NEED these abortions?” Hiding closely behind these ‘merciful’ pleas is the idea (that pro-aborts tend to embrace) that poverty leads to crime [lie!] so it’s all good. They believe they are killing two birds with one stone each time they fund killing one baby with a suction machine. Call it “pre-emptive capital punishment”, if you will. (For more on debunking the poverty leads to crime myth, read Chuck Colson’s How Now Shall We Live?)
