For me, all the reasons why I wouldn’t keep the baby were so selfish. It wasn’t like I was raped, it’s not like I’m 16. I’m 30 years old, I make my own money, I support myself, I can afford to have a baby. And I’m with someone who I love.

I totally understand what she is saying about people act like abortion is so simple. I was seventeen when I got pregnant with my daughter. I was a junior in high school. My father, I had somewhat of a strained relationship with him, approached me first and asked if I was going to abort. I said abosolutly not. I do not kill babies. He kept trying to get me to consider it until I said his grandchild didn’t deserve to die because I am not ready for a baby. He left me alone about abortion. Then my grandfather asked me if I was going to abort. The look I gave him I guess was enough. He never mentioned it again.
My father later got the news he was going to be a father again when I was twenty. He came to tell me, and also inform me they were thinking about aborting because the mom had minor health issues. I told him I would no longer be a part of his life if that were to happen. I do not know how much that influenced them, but I have a beautiful little sister who is now twelve.
My mother raised me to respect life no matter what. I have been in the pro-life fight since I was ten or eleven years old. I recently had my second daughter and my fourteen-year-old was invovled in the pregnancy. She too cannot see how someone could harm a precious growing child.
Good for you, Kmann! I’ve been pro-life since I was about 10 or 11. I saw the word ‘abortion’ in a magazine article, and asked my mother what it meant. When she explained to me what it was, I became pro-life right then! I couldn’t even IMAGINE why anyone would want to kill a baby! I ‘knew’ even back then that a baby is a person from conception. Hopefully, your daughters have inherited your ‘inner strength’.
