Happy Easter to everyone and their families! :)
“Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you….” John 15: 13-16.
Praise God for His indescribable gift.
Let us not live as if Jesus never came off the cross.
He is resurrected!
Because of that we are more than conquerors and the Kingdom now resides in each and every one of us who claims Him as Savior and Lord. We have everything we need to live as He has commanded.
Do you believe that? Then live it my friends.
Let’s go defeat this evil abomination called abortion.
“So they took Jesus; and carrying the cross by himself, he went out to what is called The Place of the Skull, which in Hebrew is called Golgotha. There they crucified him, and with him two others, one on either side, with Jesus between them.” John 19:16-18
Thank you, Lord, for laying down your life for me. Grant that I might learn to love you as you love me.
Amen everyone.
“…always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. So then death is working in us, but life in you. 2 Co 4:10–12”
Praise God everyone. Jesus said “I have come that you might have LIFE and that you may have it more abundantly”.
Jesus said “I am the way, the truth and the LIFE no one comes unto the Father except by me.” JOHN 14:16
Jesus said “I am the resurrection and the LIFE” John 11:25
Is it any wonder that satan, our enemy, wants “to rob, kill and destroy” God’s creation, especially precious, innocent babies in their mother’s wombs because they are made in the very image of God. The very place where babies are meant to be protected, nurtured and the most secure, nestled deep in their mother’s wombs, has become the most dangerous place on this earth where they are dismembered, mutilated and murdered, a chamber of death, torture and destruction. May God forgive us for the atrocities we are committing.
John 17:3 And this is eternal life: [it means] to know (to perceive, recognize, become acquainted with, and understand) You, the only true and real God, and [likewise] to know Him, Jesus [as the] Christ (the Anointed One, the Messiah), Whom You have sent. AMP
Thank you God for al that you have done forgive this great nation for all that it is doing to your children. We will try to right this wrong and make you proud of this great country of yours
He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. II Cor 5:21 (NASB)
More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord…that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death; in order that I may attain to the resurrection from the dead. Phil 3:8,10-11 (NASB)
We praise and thank you, God, for the VICTORY we have through Jesus’ obedience unto death, that we are made new creatures and joint heirs with Christ.
The two greatest events in history were the creation and the resurrection. The evidence for each is overwhelming. All true science points to creation, and the best proved fact of history is the resurrection. Both are virtually true, vitally important and vitally related and indisputable. A person may reject the evidence but he cannot refute it.
“….and the best proved fact of history is the resurrection.”
I think there is a lot of evidence establishing the American Revolution.
Hey Hal, being a lawyer, you of anyone, understanding rules of evidence, should realize that the fact of the resurrection is undeniable.
Luke 24:13-49
The Walk to Emmaus
13 That same day two of Jesus’ followers were walking to the village of Emmaus, seven miles from Jerusalem. 14 As they walked along they were talking about everything that had happened. 15 As they talked and discussed these things, Jesus himself suddenly came and began walking with them. 16 But God kept them from recognizing him.
17 He asked them, “What are you discussing so intently as you walk along?”
They stopped short, sadness written across their faces. 18 Then one of them, Cleopas, replied, “You must be the only person in Jerusalem who hasn’t heard about all the things that have happened there the last few days.”
19 “What things?” Jesus asked.
“The things that happened to Jesus, the man from Nazareth,” they said. “He was a prophet who did powerful miracles, and he was a mighty teacher in the eyes of God and all the people. 20 But our leading priests and other religious leaders handed him over to be condemned to death, and they crucified him. 21 We had hoped he was the Messiah who had come to rescue Israel. This all happened three days ago.
22 “Then some women from our group of his followers were at his tomb early this morning, and they came back with an amazing report. 23 They said his body was missing, and they had seen angels who told them Jesus is alive! 24 Some of our men ran out to see, and sure enough, his body was gone, just as the women had said.”
25 Then Jesus said to them, “You foolish people! You find it so hard to believe all that the prophets wrote in the Scriptures. 26 Wasn’t it clearly predicted that the Messiah would have to suffer all these things before entering his glory?” 27 Then Jesus took them through the writings of Moses and all the prophets, explaining from all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.
28 By this time they were nearing Emmaus and the end of their journey. Jesus acted as if he were going on, 29 but they begged him, “Stay the night with us, since it is getting late.” So he went home with them. 30 As they sat down to eat, he took the bread and blessed it. Then he broke it and gave it to them. 31 Suddenly, their eyes were opened, and they recognized him. And at that moment he disappeared!
32 They said to each other, “Didn’t our hearts burn within us as he talked with us on the road and explained the Scriptures to us?” 33 And within the hour they were on their way back to Jerusalem. There they found the eleven disciples and the others who had gathered with them, 34 who said, “The Lord has really risen! He appeared to Peter.”
Jesus Appears to the Disciples
35 Then the two from Emmaus told their story of how Jesus had appeared to them as they were walking along the road, and how they had recognized him as he was breaking the bread. 36 And just as they were telling about it, Jesus himself was suddenly standing there among them. “Peace be with you,” he said. 37 But the whole group was startled and frightened, thinking they were seeing a ghost!
38 “Why are you frightened?” he asked. “Why are your hearts filled with doubt? 39 Look at my hands. Look at my feet. You can see that it’s really me. Touch me and make sure that I am not a ghost, because ghosts don’t have bodies, as you see that I do.” 40 As he spoke, he showed them his hands and his feet.
41 Still they stood there in disbelief, filled with joy and wonder. Then he asked them, “Do you have anything here to eat?” 42 They gave him a piece of broiled fish, 43 and he ate it as they watched.
44 Then he said, “When I was with you before, I told you that everything written about me in the law of Moses and the prophets and in the Psalms must be fulfilled.” 45 Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures. 46 And he said, “Yes, it was written long ago that the Messiah would suffer and die and rise from the dead on the third day. 47 It was also written that this message would be proclaimed in the authority of his name to all the nations,[d] beginning in Jerusalem: ‘There is forgiveness of sins for all who repent.’ 48 You are witnesses of all these things.
49 “And now I will send the Holy Spirit, just as my Father promised. But stay here in the city until the Holy Spirit comes and fills you with power from heaven.””
Matthew 27:45-56
The Death of Jesus
45From the sixth hour until the ninth hour darkness came over all the land. 46About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi,[a] lama sabachthani?”—which means, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”[b]
47When some of those standing there heard this, they said, “He’s calling Elijah.”
48Immediately one of them ran and got a sponge. He filled it with wine vinegar, put it on a stick, and offered it to Jesus to drink. 49The rest said, “Now leave him alone. Let’s see if Elijah comes to save him.”
50And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit.
51At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks split. 52The tombs broke open and the bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. 53They came out of the tombs, and after Jesus’ resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many people.
54When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had happened, they were terrified, and exclaimed, “Surely he was the Son[c] of God!”
55Many women were there, watching from a distance. They had followed Jesus from Galilee to care for his needs. 56Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedee’s sons.
Matthew 28
The Resurrection
1After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.
2There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. 3His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. 4The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.
5The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. 7Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.”
8So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. 9Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. 10Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.”
The Guards’ Report
11While the women were on their way, some of the guards went into the city and reported to the chief priests everything that had happened. 12When the chief priests had met with the elders and devised a plan, they gave the soldiers a large sum of money, 13telling them, “You are to say, ‘His disciples came during the night and stole him away while we were asleep.’ 14If this report gets to the governor, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble.” 15So the soldiers took the money and did as they were instructed. And this story has been widely circulated among the Jews to this very day.
The Great Commission
16Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Celebrating Jesus’ Rising.
The northern hemisphere is echoing His move.

Trying to be nice, and live the whole day without “smackin'” a leftie ;-)
Hal,
The american revolution is still an experiment in progress and we do not yet know if it will succeed.
The Truth is with us always. HE never fails.
When you come to know HIM, and I am confident you will, just a matter of time and timing, then you will know that there nothing that compares to the unsurpassing greatness of knowing HIM.
In the meantime have lots of fun and eat more ice cream, stay between the ditches and keep the sunny side up.

“Hey Hal, being a lawyer, you of anyone, understanding rules of evidence, should realize that the fact of the resurrection is undeniable.”
I think you need to look up the definition of “evidence,” and “undeniable.”
I don’t want to argue matters of faith on this particular weekend. Believe what you want to believe, but don’t insult our intelligence.
Hi Hal, and others,
Food for thought –
Easter messages delivered by Wales’ churches…
news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/wales/8601875.stm
Have a Happy, Blessed Easter!
Hal,
Did you witness the American Revolution? No? Why do you believe it happened then?
When someone is accused of a crime and you are the prosecution, how do you convict them? Yes, by the testimony of those that were witnesses to the crime and also by circumstantial and forensic evidence.
Over two thousand years ago, Jesus Christ rose from the dead and then appeared to over 500 people. It is documented and written evidence.
The disciples went from a bunch of cowards to those that would submit themselves to martyrdom. The church began and the world was changed forever.
Every time a person goes from unbelief do belief He is agreeing with God who says, “This is my Son in whom I am well pleased, listen to Him” and we become His witness. Yes, the resurrection is the MOST proved event in history by the billions who have confessed Jesus as Lord and Savior which, by the way, can only happen at God’s will. Like I said, you can reject it but you cannot refute it.
Hal, it is not I who insults anyone’s intelligence on this site.
I hope someday that when God draws you unto Himself that you stop fighting Him and allow Him to transform you.
God bless.
Hal,
Look up Dr. William lane Craig. He has a great website (reasonable faith) and a bunch of videos on my-space posted by a fan. Dr. Craig sets forth a very compelling case for the resurrection. He has also debated the topic against PHD educated atheists. Check him out.
We discussed this yesterday in service. One of the points made by Paul in his letter to the Corinthians is that there were approximately 500 people still alive at the time (about 20 years after the resurrection) who had seen the resurrected Christ with their own eyes… he told the people if they were beginning to doubt in the literal resurrection of Christ that they should go and seek out eyewitness testimony from these people.
Can you imagine some poor judge if 500 people were all called to the stand to give testimony to their eyewitness account of the resurrected Christ? He’d probably stop after a hundred or so and say, “Okay, yes, you’ve proven your point!”
Do not forget that many of those who saw Him and knew the truth of His bodily resurrection were tortured to death and never would deny that truth.
Chuck Colson in Loving God gives a play-by-play break down of how the Watergate cover-up and those involved crumbled over the course of a few days. He points out that none of them faced deaths like these 1st century martyrs, just jail time and humiliation. If the Roman authorities wanted to disprove the resurrection, all they would have had to do was remove their guard, break the seal on the tomb and show the body. He is Risen!
(BTW, psalm, at your suggestion in an earlier post, I watched Dr. William Lane Craig’s talk about Religious Pluralism & Moral Relativism & thoroughly enjoyed it, thanks!)
“I don’t want to argue matters of faith on this particular weekend. Believe what you want to believe, but don’t insult our intelligence.”
Hal,
That depends on what, and what kind of intelligence in question. It’s been my experience that atheists are alientated from their fathers and have a great deal of anger stemming from that relationship which is then transferred to God.
Such emotional intelligence admits no source of love, as all too often for the atheist love has been denied. So, yes, belief in a loving God and Father would seem pretty insulting.
However, failure of the atheist’s father to function does not translate into God’s failure to exist. That insults MY intelligence.
Professor,
As a scientist, you should know that what you have personally seen about atheists and their fathers does not allow you to draw any meaningful conclusions. I could just as easily say “Everyone I know is pro-choice, so it is clear that the pro-life movement is loosing momentum.”
I haven’t seen any studies on the subject. The plural of “anecdote” is not “data.”
And, by the way, my atheist father and I are quite close. We’re having dinner together tomorrow night.
I’m sorry, I hate to do this… I know correcting grammar is bad form. But it is “losing”. Example: You LOSE a LOOSE tooth. Sorry, it is my major pet peeve.
Elisabeth,
Maybe it was a Freudian slip. We ARE loosing momentum, and that’s bad for pro-aborts ;-)
Thanks Elisabeth, stupid mistake on my part.
