Jane Russell R.I.P.
“The only solution was to find a quack and get an abortion. I had a botched abortion and it was terrible. Afterwards my own doctor said, ‘What butcher did this to you?’ I had to be taken to hospital. I was so ill I nearly died. I’ve never known pain like it.”
~Late actress and staunch pro-life advocate, Jane Russell commenting on her illegal abortion experience years before her pro-life conversion, as quoted by LifeSite News, March 1.

I always sort of liked Jane Russell. I notice she adopted children, too – does that mean pro-choicers ever took her views about abortion seriously? No. They go around saying, “How many children have you adopted?”, like you can’t seriously oppose abortion unless you adopt a kid, but when people have adopted kids it never makes a difference to them. Back in the 80s, they never said, “You know, Ronald Reagan’s an adoptive parent. Let’s listen to him about abortion.” The 2008 Republican presidential ticket consisted of one adoptive parent (McCain) and one mother of a Down Syndrome child and grandmother of the child of a teenage mother (Palin). These were obviously people who knew a lot about abortion alternatives, but did pro-choicers care? No. Jane Russell regretted her abortions, adopted children, and was a pioneer in foreign adoptions. I ran across someone online referring to her as a “self-righteous Christian b****” for being pro-life. Lesson for pro-lifers: pro-choicers don’t want anyone to be pro-life, period. There are no circumstances under which they find it acceptable.
Rest in peace, Jane.
In all fairness to our friends in the abortionist movement, I want ALL of them to convert right now. I feel it is never acceptable for anyone to support violence against our children.
Well said, Marauder. :)
The point was that Jane should not have had the abortion at all, but in the end, God can write straight with crooked lines. when we make quick decisions, we can sometimes pay the price. Good thing she learned from her experience and wanted to help others.
God rest your soul, Jane – and I like the reference on the other thread to her reunion with her child in heaven! God is good.
I wonder if that was Howard Hughes’ baby?
Well said, Marauder.
