This man and his storyline have all the makings of illustrating Matthew 7:3-5
3 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
Pruning shears are my mortal enemy. Mostly because they’re made for right-handers, I guess. But this guy has me beat. I saw a report on Inside Edition that mentioned this case and a lot of others: nailguns, a toddler with a safety pin in her nose, etc. (Shudder!)
I’m sure not “plank-free!” :)
And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out
That very day – his neighbor had been nagging him to cut back the hedges, and he had said, “I need to trim those bushes like I need a hole in the head!”
Doug, I shouldn’t be laughing but I am. :D
