Maybe I’m just a Bram Stoker style traditionalist, but I have to say that I can’t stand Stephanie Meyer’s tweeny take on what vampires are and what they can and can’t do. �They shouldn’t be able to go out in the daylight and being technically dead, they definitely shouldn’t be able to reproduce (no bodily fluids). Of course I said the same thing when watching Angel–though no one listened to me–but still,Angel was streaks ahead of Twilight.�

Okay, rant is over and now going to clean house and watch old episodes of Dark Shadows… :)�

Jennifer Starr, my husband has a shirt that says ‘then Buffy staked Edward, the end’. Which I find extremly funny. He’s a big fan of both Buffy (Angle mostly) and Twilight. I’ll watch/read them, but not overly impressed. I like some flavor to my vampires (The Dresden File’s vamps are probably my favorite among well known works). ;) But I prefer fantasy to urban fantasy.

Part 1 – thumbs up overall.
Bella’s emaciated body and protruding stomach were very well done.
Only a few seconds of Mackenzie (Reneesme) – just enough to introduce her for BD-2.�
Burning scene and ‘memory lane’ were awesome.
However, the scenes with the wolves (and Jacob as a human) left me wanting.
