Pro-life video of the day: Romney bashes Obama on religious freedom issue
GOP presidential hopeful Mitt Romney spoke to a crowd in Ohio this week, where he made a strong statement about religious freedom and the HHS contraception mandate.
From the Family Research Council comes Romney’s statement (video via National Review Online, with quoted comments beginning just after 7:00):
Religious liberty… [is the] first freedom of those enumerated in the Bill of Rights. And the president and his administration said they are going to usurp your religious freedom by demanding that you provide products to your employees, if you’re the Catholic Church, that violates your own conscience.
And so whether it’s a Catholic businessperson or the Catholic Church itself they’re being told what they have to do that violates their religious conscience. That attack on religious freedom I think is a dangerous and unfortunate precedent. And I know we’re not all Catholic in this room. Many presumably are. But I feel that we’re all Catholic today.
In our battle to preserve religious freedom and tolerance and freedom in this country, it is essential for us to push back against that.

I am not insulting Romney’s church, but also-is it not true that Morman’s are in favor of a one world order? And that they have even established themselves in the various masonic orders. And what exactly do the Democrats have on Romney-are they just bluffing or do they have the real power to force the release his financial records after he seals the deal on the Primary in August?
Thanks, maybe some one knows the answers, I don’t know!!
Click on my usename to see who would win in a contest between Pro-life Ron Paul and Pro-abortion Barrack Obama!!
I appreciate his words. I’m not Mormon, but I do know a LOT of Mormons. Aside from their theology, I find most of them to have excellent life management skills. It is also interesting that Mormonism is a religion that originated on US soil. It is, if you think about it, quite a uniquely American phenomenon.
I’m sure that in the coming weeks and months, some people are going to cite more fringe-y Mormons as representing and being associated with Romney. We Christians have our fair share of crazy-towns. I especially dislike how the media LOVES to point cameras at and broadcast images of the tiny, tiny group that calls themselves West-something baptists. They do NOT represent Christians.
It will be interesting. All my friends who think that if you criticize Obama it’s because you’re racist, they voted for him to “make history.” Itself a form of racism. O_o. What are they going to say about Romney? Hmm. I’m sure I’ll hear some, “I’m not against Mormons, but…” “Everyone has a right to their beliefs, but…”
See you in November.
Oh, some Catholics have accidently joined the Masons. They are often baffled when they find out that the Catholic church seriously frowns on that, seriously! It probably has something to do with the antique cannon still pointed at the Vatican from a nearby hill. So, if you’re Catholic and a new Mason, time to choose. You can’t be both.
Am I anti-mormon-no, would I want a fundamentalist mormon running the country, no.
If that’s a contradiction-then I don’t know what to tell you, except let’s take a lesson in polemics!
Here we go! Here is what I am looking at:

ninek: “We Christians have our fair share of crazy-towns. I especially dislike how the media LOVES to point cameras at and broadcast images of the tiny, tiny group that calls themselves West-something baptists. They do NOT represent Christians.”
Agreed. So upsetting when people use my Savior’s name that way. It’s Westboro Baptist Church, or something like that. They protested at our (very conservative!) church and several others in Milwaukee a few weeks ago. We counterprotested. It forced the media into a corner and they had to show the truth that other Christian churches oppose their message. Pretty sweet really. Of course, this was confined to local news.
Lifejoy, Oh, I knew their name, I just didn’t want to dignify them with typing it, LOL!
In 4 years, we can vote Romney out.
Or we can deal with the wonderful fun of 4 more years of the most pro-abortion president this nation has or will ever see, who absolutely hates America?
What’s worse, 4 more years of Obama, or the uncertainty of 4 years of Romney?
Uncertainty at table 5, please!!!
Prolife statement about Aurora, CO theater killings:
“We praise the Lord that to the best of our knowledge no unborn babies were killed during the theater massacre in Aurora, Colorado.”
Mack, you are obviously a pro-abortionist trying to mock pro-lifers. If not, let’s see the link. I can’t even imagine the grief that all those families must be experiencing right now. Not funny and liking your own comment even more not funny.
Way to miss the point, Mack. It is YOUR side who shows callous indifference to the taking of human life. Pro-Lifers don’t attempt to excuse ANY killing of innocents, at ANY age or stage of development. The idea that the very same people who were killed in that theater could’ve been killed by an abortionist in utero and you would applaud their deaths as “the right to choose” should alarm and trouble you. It certainly does me.
I do grimace at the thought that there were quite a few children under the age of ten there. They say a lot of people just can’t afford babysitters anymore. I’m tempted to lay that at the president’s feet, but I guess I shouldn’t.
Except that that would be one less common worry once he’s out.
Oops, ninek, I am not so perceptive when reading quickly! Recently I have also called a certain very nice person by the wrong name, and far worse, used an apostrophe with the plural! =) My new policy is to only write when my three kids are sleeping.
LifeJoy,
You’re allowed to be sharper when your kids are awake! :)
Perhaps some Mormans are into one world order, but not the ones I know. Also, Obama is such a proabort, he is spending out tax dollars overseas for PP. He rescinded the law that prevents medical professionals from being penalized because they refuse to participate in abortions. He should sit and watch these procedures and then he can go to Project Rachel retreats and listen to the emotional pain of women and men who bought the lie of abortion. I hope he looses, I cannot imagine 4 more years with the biggest presidential spender who makez unilateral decisions rather than listen to,congress. Oh boy. Romney is by far a better choice
The clip of Romney was inspiring and energetic! Fantastic! This is what we need to see more of in the next 100 days. If he keeps this up the only question will be the margin of his victory.
It seems that there are (unsurprisingly) new trolls coming online that seek to twist the debate into a critique of Romney’s religion. Anything to keep the focus off of Obama and the economy and the disaster his presidency has been for our country. There has not been, nor will there be a single honest ad or intiative from the Obama campaign. Obama is a liar and a fraud.
