Pro-life video of the day: WI RTL’s “Ask Two” campaign

Wisconsin Right to Life produced the Ask 2 campaign, which simply asks pro-life advocates to encourage 2 other pro-life friends, neighbors, etc., to vote Romney-Ryan with them on November 6.
Even with so many compelling reasons why Obama should not be given a second term as President, this one stands alone for many: his non-existent pro-life record and utter disregard for the sanctity of human life.

Mitt Romney was actively, outspokenly pro choice as the Governor of my state, and actively, outspokenly pro choice as a candidate for senator against Ted Kennedy. He admitted to the Iowa Register yesterday that has has zero plans to address abortion as president (his campaign retracted his statement, but he hasn’t taken it back yet himself). Do you all honestly believe he was outspokenly pro choice until the very moment he decided to run for president? Come on… I know some of you aren’t that gullible. I get it if you’re supporting Romney as a republican, for fiscal reasons, etc – but to pretend there is a huge difference between him and Obama when it comes to abortion is very silly. I don’t believe for a microsecond that Romney is actually anti abortion.
Sadly I agree Amanda. I don’t trust the man at all.
We need to start an advertising campaign called “Abort Obama” or “Abort the Democrats” just to make it clear how extreme Obama and the Democratic party’s abortions policy positions are.
P.S. I don’t disagree Amanda. Mr. Romney needs to be watched with an eagle eye. However, we can pray that his conversion to a more pro-life position is legit, and that with age he became a wiser person who sees the error of his early pro-choice positions.

I do think Romney will be much better than Obama on life issues. In fact, Mr. Obama’s positions are so extreme he makes Mitt Romney appear like a pro-life warrior/activist!!!

Tyler….what stopped you from doing that during Obama’s first term….and how did that work out for you. And what would stop you from doing that in case Obama wins come November….and once again….how do you think that would work out for you.
Seems to me that if America was truly a Christian nation….with so many “Prayer-ers”….we would have already seen a miraculous conversion by Obama….but alas we have not. Praxedes…..unless the ticket has change to Ryan / Romney you are voting on Romney and his beliefs and plans….not Ryan. Ryan has already been marginalized…..just like every Vice President in history.
Now if Ryan all of a sudden has a sudden change of heart and decides to run for President this year…..or if you have some inside information on the health of Romney or an imminent assassination attempt on Romney right after he takes the oath of office….I might consider a vote for Ryan.

Oh….as to my denomination……I was born and raised and baptized as a Southern Baptist in Mississippi. I am now an Anglican in a very conservative and renegade parish….completely separated from the Episcopal Church and marginalized by the Liberals who are infecting the Anglican Communion at large. In fact…we are part of a missionary movement by an overseas church in Africa……that’s right…..America is now the Mission field…..not so much Africa. The Africans look at us and come over here now to save us and bring us to Christ.

I find it very interesting they quote Paul Ryan as saying “our position is unified” when anyone who has been paying attention to this for more than 3 seconds knows that is completely dishonest. Ryan is opposed to all abortion, Romney supports legal abortion in the cases of rape, incest, and health issues. So how could they possibly be “unified”?
And I can’t find the info, but, just from my memory of being a life long Mass resident – the ginormous Planned Parenthood that was built in the middle of the BU campus was approved, built, and opened while Romney was Gov. It may have been under Jane Swift (also a Republican) – but I’m pretty sure it was Romney.
Danny, Mitt looked pretty young in some of videos. And if you think Romney is anything close to the partial birth fundraising to deliver babies to the neck and stab em’ in the skull with a scissors Obama then you are not even lucid. I won’t be dissappointed even if Romney doesn’t go all out for pro-life legislation. I am very comfortable that Romney won’t use a pro-abortion litmus test to stack the courts and he won’t veto pro-life legislation. That is like a dream compared to Obama.
Tell me Danny, do you think Mitt would have fought to keep Hyde-like language out of Obamacare? Do you think he would have mandated all Obamacare policies offer abortificients? These are REAL differences for America that will be determined by our vote and every pro-life person should consider these when choosing our next president.

I saw the reporting of ABC on the reporting of the Iowa Newspaper – I was hoping to bypass all the reporting on the reporting and go to the source. I don’t trust secondhand newspaper information by ABC – they have a liberal bias – let alone thirdhand information.
If I explained to you how Ryan is able to say that his position is unified with Romney’s I would have to abort (I now use the word “abort” the same way that the prochoice side uses the word “choice”) you.

Truthseeker, I agree that defunding PP would help save the lives of many preborn children, but it is not clear that any new legislation is needed in order to defund platform. Possibly, a government could simply deny granting PP their funding request. Furthermore, if new legislation is required – this new legislation has yet to be written. Finally, any such legislation would be more akin to an economic piece of legislation rather than a prolife piece of legislation, technically speaking.
Truthseeker, these are just my opinion, and quick thoughts on the matter.

If you think Romney and Obama support legalized abortion equally (I disagree), you’d think you’d at least pick the candidate with the confirmed prolife vp because even presidents pass away. I cannot predict the future and neither can you. We know what Obama is about and you have made no legitimate argument to keep me from voting for Romney/Ryan.
Recently there was story in the news about a man who went to feed his sows and they ate him.
It was unclear from the remains what killed him.

When Mitt decided he would run for the governership of Massachusetts he realized that if he did not tell the Liberals that infest the state of Mass. what they wanted to hear then he would not succeed which is all he cares about….his PERSONAL success.

Now that he has read the “TEA” leaves….he speaks the soothing conservative words to “itching ears” because he learned a valuable lesson in 2008…..he was not CONSERVATIVE LOOKING and SOUNDING enough. He was still MITT THE MASSACHUSETTS MODERATE…at best….. or MITT THE MASSACHUSETTS LIBERAL AT WORST !!! And he did the very thing that shakes him to his core…..he FAILED…..he failed his IDOL called PERSONAL SUCCESS. He failed also to live up to and EXCEED his father’s success.

Danny, first off, it doesn’t require the repeal of Obamacare to defund Planned Parenthood. Secondly, Quit living in the past. There is a REAL chance to make a difference this election. All it would take is getting 50 senate seats and a Romney/Ryan presidency. Quit moaning about the past and start working towards possibilities in the present and voting for the candidate that would not veto the defunding? As Massachusetts governor when he promised his constituents he would not try and “change” current abortion laws he didn’t even though he was personally pro-life. He did however prevent any expansion of pro-death policy. Now he is promising to fight for life and I see no reason to disbelieve him. He seems to be the kind of guy who will back America when we are ready for the change but unlike Obama and the liberals he wouldn’t force change down anybody’s throat.

Let’s take those three points in bold one at a time shall we…..
First….I am pro life….extremely so. I am not voting for Obama. No one here on this pro life web site who has stated their pro life position has said anything of the sort. Not sure where you are coming from.
Two…..the unborn will continue to be slaughtered under a Romney / Ryan ticket. Romney knows ths law….the law states that a woman has a right to kill her baby. Romney has already stated in Massachusetts he would NOT take that right away. And he…for once…did not lie.
Plus….even if Romney DID overturn Roe v Wade….which will not happen….he has stated that he would only do so in order to give the states the right to allow women to kill their babies. So…..it’s ok for you all to allow 2/3 of the states to continue to murder babies under state approval and law….just as long as it is not done under the Federal Law?

That’s a curious statement Janet. Pray tell….where in any of the Founding Documents does it compel me to vote based on the “moral obligation” of it ?

Re abortion related matters too much emphasis is laid on the president. The work of the legislature is where it is at. If a Republican House and Senate pass pro-life legislation a Republican president it likely to sign it. Forget about what Romney has said or done in the past on this issue. Our work as pro-lifers is to elect pro-life legislators and then hold their feet to the fire making sure they draft and pass pro-life bills. Certainly a President Romney is a millions times more likely to sign pro-life legislation than Mr. Abortion King Obama.
Tyler – Ryan’s mentioning of science and reason alongside his quick commentary on “religion and abortion” was a good witness to those on the fence, though it wasn’t his strongest moment of the evening. Biden’s view just weirds me out.
Lord, please forgive Mr. Biden for failing to see that true rights never conflict with one aother when he implied that religious freedom and the right to life are mutually exclusive when it comes to the matter of abortion. Please forgive Mr. Biden for bearing false witness to his Catholic faith.
Lord, please judge administrations that do not reward good and punish evil. Through the mediate agency of the electorate, let your rain of insight fall on the just and the unjust to purge the government of authorities who subvert Good and promote Evil.

Sorry…everyone who has responded to me in the negative and to the only one (John McDonell from Canada) who has ever responded in the positive.
Let me take just a moment to explain. I just came back from closing on a house. The first one we have owned since the Housing and Financial Crisis. Paid for in cash. So as long as we can make the property tax payment….no one will ever be able to take it away…..unlike the house we lost when I got laid off during the Dot Com Crash and the next one we lost in 2008 when I lost another job again during the Financial Crisis during which I found myself homeless with my wife and 5 kids.
I say cash….not to brag. Only because it is a fact. But as Paul Harvey used to say….” Now for the rest of the story.” My wife and I were able to do this because this summer both her parents were killed in a tragic car accident on their way to celebrate their wedding anniversary early. Her father was killed outright…her mother hung on through her birthday and died a few days later. They were both buried together on their wedding anniversary. We have just received the first of several large insurance and lawsuit payouts.
I have stated…perhaps cryptically to some….that there is Life in Death…there is Victory in Defeat… etc. These are spiritual rhetorical devices to help bolster my arguments against the charge leveled against me that I am “defeatist”…or my non participatory stance in this election will allow Obams to “destroy” America. It may seem a bit high minded. But hopefully you now see that there is a terrible reality also that undergirds these thoughts.
My family would never be able…probably….for the rest of my working days have a stable place to live without the sacrifices her parents made in life….and with their tragic death. I would not have any chance at eternal life withyout the Death of my Savior. I would not have come to that place where I made that decision in the first place until I admitted defeat and surrended my life…my pride and arrogance and sin to Jesus and recognize He is my Sovereign Monarch. I do not fear the Boogy Man Obama….or any Tyrant….for I have already faced Death by Cancer in 1998. I do not fear the destruction of America…..because if it happens it was because of and through the Sovereign decision of God. I do not WISH IT….but I do NOT FEAR IT.
What I FEAR is the compromise of my principles. Which I have done for too long….and sadly…sometimes still do (Thank you Lord for your Grace and Forgiveness). In the past and sometimes still…that may be a breaking of one of the Ten Commandments….sometimes it is a Sin of Omission…not Commision. And in the past it was voting for people that I did NO RESEARCH on at all….just blindly followed what others said simply to be on the “Correct” side….or …as many of you are doing…simply from FEAR of the BOOGY MAN on the opposite side of the political spectrum.
But no more. I will no longer blindly follow the herd…simply because that’s my duty….or “What other choice can there be” That’s herd mentality. I am a Human being blessed with Reason and a God that will impart Wisdom….not a beast following a herd.
And I will NOT vote for a confirmed liar, (truthseekr I will address you in moment….you will not like it ). I will not vote for somone who will at best allow the states to kill babies….even if he overturns Roe V Wade…and/or defunds Planned Parenthood. I will not vote for a Cultist. I will not vote for someone who says he supports the Second Amendment and also Supports the Brady Bill…another form of lying.

Biden’s abortion remark upset me for a few reasons. His “personally prolife, publicly prolife position” is hypocritical. First, Joe Biden has no problem allowing women to impose a death sentence on the preborn without due process of law. Second, he most likely supports US laws that forbid men from burning wives for adultery, so he has no problems with laws that impose on religious beliefs of certain religions. Mr. Biden ignored the pain and plight of thousands if not millions of post-abortive women who regret having obtained an abortion.
Joe Biden does not recognize that it is own faith that recognizes the fundamental dignity of all human beings and that it is this recognition of the dignity of all human beings that bestows the universality of the US conception of human rights, as they are contained in the US Constitution. Abortion does not recognize the dignity of the preborn and therefore contradicts the US Constitution, let alone the 6th Commandment.
Joe Biden exploited the tragedy of wife’s untimely accident and death. He should not raise this again. It no longer seems genuine and it is painful to watch a man use such a loss for political advantage. It was classless.

Danny, very few people disagree with what your saying, it is mostly with what you fail to say – that man has a responsibility in this life to his fellow brother. We are responsible for trying to make our pilgrimage here on earth, the city of God on earth, resemble as much as possible the eternal city, or city of God in Heaven. The city of God is and has been established here on earth by Jesus, but will only be perfected in eternity. Catholics and Christians are not supposed to part of the earthly city.

Also many Christians might be offended at your characterization of Mitt Romney and even your characterization of Mr. Obama as anti-Christs. In a technical sense you might be right. You may also want to call them herectics. However, you should really address Mormonism or Mr. Obama’s Chrisitianity and not Mitt Romney or Barack Obama. Danny, it appears you and I are looking for a solution to entirely different problems. Christians don’t need to renounce America, they need to renounce evil and sin! National repentance? America doesn’t have a soul to be saved. The people of America do, and one heart at a time can be called to repentance and the pursuit of holiness. Who would rely on politicians for the spreading of the Gospel? Some governments make following Christ easier and some make it harder. No government will provide salvation. I’m just hoping for elected officials that (as rasqual put it) reward good and punish evil. Our current president rewards evil in some very public ways. I’ll be casting a vote to lessen evil.
Danny, did you not read what I posted. Mitt Romney is open and honest about his Mormonism. I asked you to show me proof that he lied. You said he lied in his videos but he did not. You said he is liar cause he is a Mormon but being a Mormon does not make you a liar, Telling somebody something that with the intention of deceiving makes you a liar. Your anecdotes about other people calling him being a liar on a video when he honestly kept his promise to the Massachussetts consistuency that he would not overturn existing abortion laws does not make him a liar. Biden’s comments re the HHS mandate were of course false and he knew it. With bluster and bravado he assures the viewers that all is well, that no Catholic organization will be forced to provide services that conflict with the teachings of the Church. Kind of reminds me of the old saying: “If you can’t dazzle them with brilliance then baffle them with bull…t”. In fact most of his lines in the so called “debate” would fall into the latter category.

My mistake, I have not read all of Danny’s posts. I have no personal knowledge of Mitt Romney ever lying. And as for Mitt Romney’s alleged lying to himself due to belonging to Mormonism I will leave that to Danny to explain more carefully.
I was trying to read between the lines in Danny’s posts. I did not mean to imply that I agree with his premise that Mitt Romney is liar, or to imply that many people think that Mitt is liar. I was only trying to say that many people agree that Romney has changed his political positions and that many find his Mormonism an obstacle to voting for him.

Now I admit I am newcomer to learning the Mormon faith but I was intrigued so I just chatted with some Mormons online and from what I gathered so far Danny is definitely wrong about at least a couple one of his HUGE slanderous accusation against them.
1) They DO believe believe in the saving atonement of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross; at least the ones I spoke with.
2) At first they intimated things by using words like “restored the Bible” and I had to prod them by stating that “I don’t understand how something written in 1820 could be said to be restoring scripture to it’s original form” But in the end they did say that the Book of Mormon is not an addition to the Bible. Restoration seemed to be a big tenet of their faith. The way they described it is that the book of Mormon brought a restoration to the priesthood; but not that it is a part of the Bible.
But having not even read the Book of Mormon I cannot be certain about all of what these Mormons told me or all of Danny’s ravings. Maybe Danny knows the Mormon faith better then the Mormons I just chatted with.

John, I just had another long chat with them. Interesting story. Their original writings were written from 600BC to about 400AD and then buried for over 1300 years when they were found by Joseph Smith who translated them before they were taken up to heaven. I ended up telling the person that I was chatting with that I like to study scripture that can be authenticated with original writings from the prophets that have an apostolic succession of authenticity. In the end I have way more in common with a Mormon named Mitt Romney (faith in and devotion to Jesus Christ and prayer for guidance from the Holy Spirit) then I do with Barack Obama. I just think they are getting ‘rolled’ with the Book of Mormon.
