Pro-life vid of day: Cecile Richards applauds Nixon’s racist ideas
by LauraLoo
Cecile Richards, head of notorious abortion provider Planned Parenthood, has publicly celebrated former President Richard Nixon, who was a racist in full support of aborting “little black b***ards,” as he called them. Outraged black leaders such as Alveda King and Day Gardner launched a video exposing Richards’ statements and the racist, eugenicist roots of PP’s and Nixon’s mission. King remarked:
2013 marks the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation, 50th anniversary of MLK’s I Have a Dream speech, yet we find blacks are still shackled, supporting an organization that considers aborting “little black b***ards” an age of enlightenment.

I never did like Trickie Dickie.
He and LBJ seemed to share a loathing of densely pigmented people.
mr. bo-jangles may be a ‘black bastard’, but I would not have advocated murdering him in the womb.
Hmm, the similarities between Nixon and The Amateur just keep growing! Both elitist and obstructive, but The Amateur has more of an emperor complex. I find this an odd moment of consistency from the current queen abortionista.
Ken, your continued referral to Obama as “Mr. Bojangles” is offensive. and I know I’m not the only one who feels this way. As much as I dislike the guy, there’s no reason to use racial stereotypes when describing him. I’m sure you wouldn’t think its very amusing if someone asked if your Asian wife “love you long time,” would you?
Cut it out. Its not funny.
Hi phillymiss,
I’m afraid I don’t understand your offense at “Mr. Bojangles”. The song “Mr.Bojangles” was about a transient white street entertainer with an alcohol problem who called himself “Mr.Bojangles” rather than give his correct name to police. It had no racist connotation. There was the black entertainer Bill “Bojangles” Robinson, who BTW was permitted only stereotypical roles by ever enlightened Hollywood, but the writer of the song insisted there was no connection.
Whatever he’s called, I hope Woodward eats him for lunch. In a metaphorical sense, of course.
I know I’ve already given my opinion, but I find Bojangles about as offensive as I’d find it if someone went around calling a black person “boy.” As in, “Boy, get me a co-cola.” “Boy, watch your mouth.” No, boy is not an inherently racist word. It does have an inherently racist connotation when used in a very specific context, ie that of a white person telling a black person what to do, what not to do, where not to look, etc. That is just reality. That connotation comes from somewhere. No one should ever be mocked or jumped on for unwittingly offending others, but the reasonably polite thing to do when informed that your behavior is offensive is to evaluate whether it’s still worth it to you to say this thing that people tell you offends them. That is where the indication of who you are comes in – not in the use of a word but in the persistence in offending people intentionally.
Hi Alexandra,
I certainly see your point but I think that people can be mistaken as to whether something is really meant to be offensive or even has a racial/ethnic/relgious connotation. I remember this song from years ago, it holds many fond memories for me, and until I did a little research I didn’t even know what color “Mr.Bojangles” was supposed to be. It was irrelevant. It was just an account of the sad and tragic life of a basically decent man.
I’m reminded of a skit on the old Carol Burnett Show. My vague memory of it is that she was trying to put together a play or performance and every character or name she tried to use ”offended” someone. A crew or cast member would approach her about a supposed racist, ethnic, or relgious connotation that they found offensive, even though they were the only ones who saw anything “offensive”. Finally an exaspperated Carol is able to put together a conglomoration of names and alter the plot enough times so as to accomodate everyone’s sensibilities. It was a brilliant skit and you got the point of just how ridiculous things can get.

“Ken, your continued referral to Obama as “Mr. Bojangles” is offensive.” [to you]
pm,
After having made post to which you are referring, I realized my comment was intemperate.
Whether or not mr. bo-jangles is ‘black’ and/or a ‘bastard’ is irrelevant. He had no voice or choice in either of those realities and neither determines his ‘character’.
I could understand your being offended in my ‘appearing’ to share Trickie Dickie’s blatant bigotry. For the record, speaking as one who is pigmentally challenged, I really do try to judge people by the content of their character and not their abundance or paucity of pigmentation.
My Japanese-Canadian wife do love me ‘long, long time’. [But she will not walk two steps behind me.]
In April we will celebrate our 30th anniversary. One of the couples that we specifically invited to celebrate the weekend with us are very densley pigmented. They look almost ‘african’. [Neither voted for mr. bo-jangles.]
Their son used to spend more time at our house than he did at his own home. I love him almost as much as my own son. If he were to become one of my son-in-laws I would be pleased as punch and would proudly welcome him into our family.
My wife likes to wear those rubber sandals. Some folks call them ‘flip flops’. She refers to them as ‘jap flaps’.
I assure you, though you may choose to be offended, my referring to the obamateur as ‘mr. bo-jangles’ has no racist connotation what so ever. It has to do with his ‘pan handling’, ‘grifter’, ‘flim flam’, ‘con man’ ‘scamming’, ‘scheming’ ways. In all of these behaviors, mr. bo-jangles has both a voice and choice, and all are reflections of his lack of character and none of which have anything to do with pigmentation. At least the mythical mr. bojangles danced for his supper and did not just stand there with a card board sign begging for a hand out.
The empty suit has no emperor.
There is only one perosn I intend to offend with the use of mr. bo-jangles and it has nothing to do with who his daddy or his momma is.
the obamateur knows better than anyone what a vaccuous soul he is and he knows full well who is responsible for his no good, low down, egg sucking, hound dog ways.
My Jamaican friend, Hart, compared mr. bo-jangles to a ‘pimp’,
aka, a ‘long legged, on the down low, mac daddy’. Pastor James David Manning
“He [mr. bo-jangles] is very social[ist] and it’s getting borderline communist.”
“He’s [mr. bo-jangles] bad. He’s bad and I supported him. I voted for him the first time around. I had hopes because he was black. Shame on me.” [Equivalent to ‘voting with your lady parts’.]
Harry C. Alford, National Black Chamber of Commerce President and CEO
The islamic and christian religions have done nothing to ameliorate bo’s moral depravity. Humanism can never resucitate him. His only hope is JESUS.
This simply shows how twisted and ignorant the pro-choice side can be.
Mr. Nixon said pretty horrible comments.
After the opening theme and credits, Leno walked out onto the stage and said, “Welcome sequestration survivors. Yes!”
“As you know, Congress did not reach an agreement,” he continued, “and Congresswoman Maxine Waters said today that 170 million jobs could be lost because of it.”
“Now, there are only 155 million workers in America,” Leno explained, “yet, she says we’ll lose 170 million jobs.”
“Beginning to understand why we’re in this situation in the first place now?” he asked. “Is it starting to become clear why everything isn’t quite well?”

If Maxine Water came from a district that was composed of mostly women then we could blame her continuing presence in congress on ‘voting with your lady parts’.
But alas we have to look else where to find another common denominator to explain how anyone as demonstrably stupid as she is could get ‘re-elected’.
“He’s [mr. bo-jangles] bad. He’s bad and I supported him. I voted for him the first time around. I had hopes because he was black. Shame on me.” [Equivalent to ‘voting with your lady parts’.]
Even a man as successful and intelligent as Harry C. Alford, National Black Chamber of Commerce President and CEO, can fall into the ‘ethnocentrism’ trap.
But give Mr. Alford credit. He did not have to get kicked twice by the same jackass to realize he had been fooled by a smooth talkin, on the down low, long legged mac daddy.
Can’t say the same for ms Maxine Water’s constituents.
But Maxine Waters could be correct in her ‘170 million jobs lost’ if she includes the continuing damage done to the economy due to the malfeasance of liberal democRATs like herself and the obamateur.
Calling Obama Mr. Bo-jangles is inappropriate, if for no other reason than that he can’t dance. Ever suffered through one of his press conferences? He tap dances around a question like he has lead boots.
Hi Hans,
A little off topic. Marlena is still on Days of Our Lives. Not that I watch soaps or anything.
Yeah, I gave up on that one a few years back when they went all-teenager. It was fun when Marlena was possessed. Thee only one I indulge in now is General Hospital.
she swoons over the President, but her organization would have gladly aborted him had abortion been legal the year he was born, What a con!
Face it there is racism on both sides of the aisle and these people make themselves known without much effort. It is time for all people of moral charactor to confront it head on. Get rid of those who represent the evil in our in government by voting them out!!!!
I had hopes because he was black.
I had hope that my first husband would make a good father because he brushed his teeth daily.

HJ,
When was the last time bo held a press conference where he was asked a tough question?
I respectfully disagree. I must give credit, where credit is due. I saw mr. bo-jangles tripping the light fantastic/bustin a move on the ‘Ellen’ show. It was not Soul Train caliber stuff, but the obamateur does have a sense of rhythm. I attribute the innate ability to genetics. [Think River Dance, not Roots.] The Irish do have a reputation for ‘dancing a jig’.
And dancing is about the only thing that mr. bo-jangles has demonstrated tha is NOT above his paygrade.
TOTUS is still a little stiff.
Oh no. You did not say “jig”. You make racial double entendres whether you mean to or not. ;)
Ken 12:20PM
Ken, you know I like you and I will readily defend any comments I do not see as racial/racist, but will call you out on those that are. I’m doing that now.
@Mary: Regardless of the origin of the term “Mr. Bojangles” or whoever originally held that title, the fact of the matter is that the term is a racial slur now. Whether it used to be or not is irrelevant.
Yeah, count me as someone else who is offended by ken’s use of it.
Richards’ fangirling of Tricky Dick isn’t winning her any points either. I already didn’t like him (admittedly mostly on account of Watergate, but that’s enough), and I’d had no idea how racist he was. And pro-abortion on top of it. Coffin, meet nail.
Alice,
Why is Mr. Bojangles a racial slur? The guy was a white alcoholic street entertainer. The song had no racial/racist connotations. Please enlighten me.
I don’t know how it got to be a racial slur. I just know that it is. People use it to accuse black persons of playing up negative racial sterotypes for money. How the term went from a white street entertainer to a racial slur is a history with which I’m not familiar. The point is not that it used to mean something that wasn’t a slur. Whatever it used to mean, what it means now is racially charged.
And even if that were not true, the way ken uses it absolutely is racist, is racist on purpose, and is quite frankly offensive. Multiple people, of multiple races, have told him he’s being needlessly offensive and he consistently replies with a nonsensical non-apology. Now, he’s going to keep being offensive, regardless. Is it really necessary to encourage him in being pointlessly rude?
HI Alice,
Sorry, but to just “know that it is” a racial slur doesn’t cut it. I want to hear exactly what the connection is. If you’ve seen any of my past posts you know I don’t hesitate to call out anyone on a racial, ethnic,or religious slur so this isn’t something I take lightly. In fact I called out Ken earlier on this thread for what I considered racial/racist comments.
Ken’s “Mr. Bojangles” is a play on Obama’s initials BO-jangles. The original “Mr.Bojangles” was a white indigent street entertainer with an alcohol problem. A song was written about him by one of his jail cellmates. Sorry, I see no racial/racist connotations.
…I had a long reply typed out and ready to go, but the truth is I’m just tired and the fact that we even need to have this conversation makes me depressed. Apparently the number of people who just don’t care if something is racist is bigger than I thought, so maybe Cecile actually can get traction by harkening back to Nixon. Which is even more depressing. :(
Alice,
I’m reminded of the people who screamed, and scream, “racism” at anyone who criticizes Obama. Ask them to directly quote someone saying anything racist and they can’t. Its just “obvious” you are criticizing Obama because he’s black. Its an easy trap to fall into Alice, and it gets old and tiresome. It also trivializes true racism and bigotry. Sort of like the boy who cried wolf.
Ahh, if we knew the inner thoughts on all the presidents, yea, all the people. What a wonderful thing that would be…..not.
You people are so wrapped up in ‘finding the racist’ that you miss many good things. I thought this was a pro life forum, not and anti racist forum.
Let people say what they want, you will then know them by their speech.
