Pro-life vid of the day: Pregnancy center provides a guiding light
by Hans Johnson
Across the street from the Denver Planned Parenthood – the second largest abortion facility in the U.S - is the Lighthouse Women’s Center. Executive Director Lynn Grandon told CBN News:
The ancient Romans would throw away the babies they didn’t want. They put them out in the street or out in the wilderness to freeze to death or for wild animals to kill them.
But Christians observed that, even 2,000 years ago, and they rescued those babies and raised them as their own. And that made such an impact on a lot of the Romans that it caused them to convert.

There goes those big bad Christians again – doing their evil thing – helping people in need. O Lord, when will those Christians learn not to be so nice. Can’t we get the government to shut this down? Everyone knows there is already enough good in this world. I bet these crazy Christians pray for world peace too.
Lynn Grandon and her husband were here in the Peoria Diocese – helping women choose life and she headed up the Pro-Life office here. She also worked at a crisis pregnancy center in the midwest – again directly opposite a Planned Parenthood.
We care about this children and the moms, and our own group deliver what families need to see them through – food, furniture, diapers and wipes, clothing, transportation (bus passes for a year) and more. Mostly we offer help and friendship.
Right now we are going to a young woman’s pre-natal appointments – she is having a boy, and he has some physical challenges. We are providing her support during those specialty appointments. We care for the entire family.
Most women do not want an abortion – but don’t know where to turn. We give them love and support and a safe place to be. Praise God.
As long as there have been people consigning the weak to death and oppression, there has been a pro-life movement. We stand in a long line of people willing to stand up for life. And this is why I’m not worried the pro-abortion movement will win. We have always been here and always will be.
Yes, when I went on a tour of Rome the tour guide mentioned that exposing infants was quite common. And it wasn’t just the handicapped, a baby could be killed this way for being the “wrong” sex (you know, having that pesky thing called a vagina.).
Thank you, Joy and all the other CPC volunteers and workers To me this is what prolife is all about — helping women find life-affirming alternatives to abortion. The prolife movement is accused of being consisting of men trying to control women’s bodies, but the CPC’s are almost ALWAYS staffed and operated by WOMEN!!
