Pro-life video of the day: CNN’s Anderson Cooper covers Gosnell
CNN’s Anderson Cooper tackled the case of mass murderer abortionist Kermit Gosnell on his April 12 show.
Cooper fairly and with credible disgust gave an overview of Gosnell’s crimes and the unwillingness of Pennsylvania state agencies to shut him down…
Cooper followed that segment by interviewing David Altrogge, maker of a documentary revealing Gosnell horrors, 3801 Lancaster, which we have highlighted as a previous pro-life video of the day.
Cooper also interviewed CNN Senior Legal Analyst Jeffrey Toobin, who blindly insisted there was no media bias involved in not covering Gosnell.
“They are saying the liberal media is trying to protect abortion rights by not showing this horror show. I don’t buy that at all,” said Toobin. “It’s a business decision. We are not operating with the political agenda here. We pick stories, by and large, for reasons that we think people would be interested. I don’t think we’re covering this up.”
If it was a business decision, then what exactly made CNN et al decide that talking about serial infanticide on the scale of “hundreds,” according to the grand jury report, was not sexy enough? What could possibly be more sensational than that?

They are reluctant to investigate because they’re afraid of what they might find. It is likely abortion may attract medical bottom-feeders. It is also possible that it attracts medical personnel with a kind of “homicidal impulse.” They see an easy and legal way to act out this impulse.
Another possibility is that medical personnel just don’t respect abortion patients so they give sub-standard care. That Gosnell failed to sterilize the instruments might not just be sloppiness. He might have believed his patients deserved to pick up STDs when they unloaded their fetuses (or babies).
“We are not operating with the political agenda here.”
Must be in the bridge-selling business, eh, Jeffrey? David did a great job. Good piece overall.
At least Toobin admitted that CNN is a “liberal” media. Also, Pro-Life Democrats who have a problem with the mainstream media’s coverage of this should also be offended when he accused you of being conservative.
I wonder how long Toobin will keep his job if he does not apologize for his over-the-top bias.
He might have believed his patients deserved to pick up STDs when they unloaded their fetuses (or babies).
If that’s the case, I wonder what he thought he deserved for killing them?
DONT KILL THE INNOCENT CHILDREN !!!

(Denise) A lot of money. People aren’t always completely logical. It’s quite possible he perceived his patients as “bad women” because they were aborting and that he was just giving them the sort of treatment they deserved. He probably did not perceive himself as a bad person but as someone making $ from women’s foolish and wicked actions.
I love Anderson Cooper. He sent me an autographed picture about a year ago. Good job!
“victims without identities”
These poor children should be remembered just like the kids of Sandy Hook.
I hope they find out out why the Health inspections were stopped.
If Jeffrey Toobin really expects people to believe those flimsy, ignorant excuses, he is not much of a legal analyst, senior or otherwise.
Granted, some people will believe about this trial and the lack of lamestream media coverage whatever they want to believe. But that’s because they have their minds made up, not because they think Toobin’s excuses make any sense.
One of many horrible things that comes out of this coverage is that the horrors found through investigations were ignored, then investigations were stopped altogether. This allowed Gosnell to kill many more babies and maybe this poor woman he killed would not have died had they done something earlier.
The liberal media were burying the story — either because of their active propaganda bias, or because the liberal blinders caused a passive incompetence.
As business decisions go, they could have puffed up the grisley details and packed in the viewers. slow news week and all…
There are no excuses…. they flubbed the big story of the week. Any way you look at it, they need to just admit that they screwed up and look sharp.
The report was not pro-life, it was simply a report on a crime. AC360 would be the last show to pander to a pro-life agenda that tries to associate legal abortions with this illegal horror house.
And the conservative mainstream media didn’t cover the story either so what the heck is this nonsense about a “liberal media” cover up? In case you haven’t noticed, the conservative media didn’t report on the crime, they just complained about the liberal media not reporting on it. Just like they did…
Tyler: These poor children should be remembered just like the kids of Sandy Hook.
Well then why don’t you pro-life activists start with granting the babies the same respect the children of Sandy Hook were granted and stop plastering pictures of their dead bodies all over the internet? Why oh why do we get the impression that most of you don’t give a damn about the babies but instead jump on the case with an almost perverted enthusiam because you think this is the perfect opportunity to campaign against legal abortions?
DeniseNo: It is also possible that it attracts medical personnel with a kind of “homicidal impulse.”
If you people wouldn’t make it harder and harder for women to get access to legal abortions done by qualified doctors in clean and save clinics and also makes it harder for women to get affordable healthcare, contraception and basic sex ed then they wouldn’t have to go to monsters like Gosnell. So congrats, well done.
@ Lee: I’m not one of “you people.” People here regard me as “pro-abort.”
What’s the difference between what Tiller did completely legally and what Gosnell did and is being tried for right now?
The location of the babies’ necks, and some paperwork.
And right-the only reason Gosnell was operating as he was was because of us darned Pro-Lifers! It’s not like Gosnell had been inspected by NAF inspectors, failed inspection, and NOT REPORTED BY THEM OR ANYTHING. Oh, wait, that is TOTALLY what it was like.
Lee, could you fit some more stale, already refuted talking points into your comment. I don’t think you included quite enough. 9_9
Lee, who said the report was pro-life?
I don’t know who you mean by “conservative mainstream media”. But FOX News covered this story on at least three shows over two weeks ago now.
By the way it was not the “conservative mainstream media” who “complained” about the lack of “liberal mainstream media” coverage of the Gosnell story. It was Kirsten Powers, who is a self-proclaimed liberal, who called them out, in USA Today.
“Well then why don’t you pro-life activists start with granting the babies the same respect the children of Sandy Hook were granted and stop plastering pictures of their dead bodies all over the internet?”
Not all of us pro-life activists do that. I don’t and I know plenty of others who don’t. But you in your obvious bias lump us all together.
Furthermore, it may be out of respect for those babies and for other babies who might yet be saved that some pro-lifers post these pictures. I don’t know anyone who is pro-life who doesn’t respect babies or who doesn’t respect all lives. That’s what pro-life means.
“Why oh why do we get the impression that most of you don’t give a damn about the babies…”
Lee, I have pro-choice friends and they know I “give a damn about the babies”, so maybe you should speak for yourself. Not that I have any idea where you get that impression about pro-lifers, rather than out of your own biases.
Finally, there is plenty of access to legal abortions, it’s the law of the land. It’s not the fault of pro-lifers if those clinics aren’t safe and clean, and don’t have qualified doctors and staff. The abortion industry is allowed to police itself, and obviously they are doing a very poor job of it.
Toobin doesn’t have much credibility, given his recent scandal.
