Clear Channel aborts Wichita clinic’s ad

IMG_4239

The only details I know are coming from South Wind Women’s Center abortion clinic in Wichita, KansasClear Channel hasn’t responded to my request for comment.

But apparently, on or around July 3, the cable outlet stopped running South Wind’s ads – after a very short run. Hear the ad at the link below. Notice the A-word is never mentioned…

Pro-life vid of day: Actor, new father Channing Tatum “so excited”

From Katie Kindelan at ABC News:

Being a first-time dad to a daughter means a lifetime ahead of tea parties, dances, sports, graduations and one day, most likely, walking her down the aisle.

For new dad Channing Tatum, what has him “so excited” about being a dad to his newborn daughter, Everly, with actress-wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum, is something much more basic.

“I’ve never been so excited when something poos,” Tatum, 33, said today on Good Morning America.  I just get so amped up because I’m in the game now.”

July 9, blue sky day for pro-life movement

d59998b82d09d6151c9dbb040fb40d62

Of course, we can never really wake up to blue skies as long as the dark cloud of abortion hangs over us.

Nevertheless, yesterday brought lots of good news for the pro-life movement from many sides.

Don’t mess with Texas pro-lifers

First, last night the Texas House provisionally passed (formal ceremonial vote today) pro-life bills a pro-abortion mob previously blocked on June 25. The tally, 98-49, was four votes higher for our side than the vote taken after pro-abortion Rep. Wendy Davis’s filibuster. Sweet.

At the time of the vote, Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards was inexplicably rallying in Houston, as if she forgot the state capital is Austin. Cecile turned from festive to angry after the vote, tweeting, “Tonight the TX House passed a bill that will take women back decades–and we’re not going,” adding this photo to scare us. She apparently missed the memo instructing late-term abortion supporters to wear orange. Click to enlarge…

Congressional Budget Office: late-term abortions save money

[A]ccording to CBO [Congressional Budget Office], to the degree that government runs and pays for the health-care system — as it does through Medicaid — aborting late-term babies is a cost-saving measure for government. Letting late-term babies live, according to this reasoning, is an increased cost for government. The CBO did not estimate how much […]

How abortion proponents view current pro-life tactics

Robin Marty-As I wrote in my post, “How abortion proponents view the current abortion landscape,” I have developed a collegial relationship with Robin Marty, pictured right, senior political reporter for RH Reality Check.

This past weekend Robin was in Chicago for a National Organization for Women convention, and we got to meet. She had asked if she could interview me for a piece she’s writing.

Through the course of our lunchtime conversation (which she paid for, thanks!) Robin enlightened me on how abortion proponents view current pro-life efforts, particularly since 2010, when pro-lifers began passing laws in unprecedented numbers. Robin agreed to let me share her thoughts. I’m not going to pick them apart, I simply find them fascinating and thought you might, too.

How abortion proponents view the current abortion landscape

crowafterroe_smallPro-abortion authors Robin Marty and Jessica Mason Pieklo have co-authored a fascinating new book, Crow After Roe.

Marty is senior political reporter for RH Reality Check, and Pieklo is a senior legal analyst there. Over the past year or so I’ve developed a collegial relationship with Robin. Even as we both stand our ground, it’s refreshing to discuss and debate sans animus.

Robin was kind enough to give me a copy of her book, which I have been reading with interest. Even though Robin writes from a biased perspective, which she freely acknowledges, she writes intelligently, another refreshing difference from the typical pro-abortion fare I usually read.

  • Down on the Pharm says that by reducing human life to nothing more than a dollar figure, we are one step away from forced abortions – in America:

The Congressional Budget Office has announced that if we pass Trent Franks’ bill H.R. 1797 restricting late term abortions, it could add $400 billion to the federal deficit. Philip Hodges at Godfather politics points out that this might be the first time that the politicians ever cared about the deficit, now that it can be used to push abortion.

Pro-life video of the day: The “Mozart Effect” – soothes preemies

by Hans Johnson

mozart1Music has long been known to “soothe the savage breast,” but in recent years we have seen the Mozart Effect touted for everything from raising one’s IQ to mitigating epileptic symptoms. A study on 20 premature infants at Tel Aviv Medical Center played Mozart for one group for 30 minutes on two consecutive days. No music was played for the other group. The babies who listened to music were less agitated, expended less energy, and needed fewer calories. Thus they presumably could gain weight and thrive more quickly.

Most recently, doctors at Tel Aviv Saurasky Medical Center sought to differentiate the effects of different classical music by observing 12 babies born in the 30th week of gestation with an average weight of 2.5 lbs. From Haaretz:
