Pro-life vid of day: Panel calls sidewalk counselors “mob-like”
In a typical unfairly unbalanced discussion on MSNBC’s Now with Alex Wagner, the abortion-happy panel “thanked God” that Governor Jerry Brown of California was a “beacon of light and sanity” for signing into law the expansion of medical personnel who can perform surgical abortions. They also fretted about the Supreme Court’s consideration of a case that ”challenges a law forcing protesters to congregate more than 35 feet from the entrance to” abortion facilities.
According to NARAL board member Karen Finney (pictured), pro-life sidewalk counselors aren’t exercising free speech, but instead have a “mob-like mentality” and are only about “shaming the woman.” (Yet one would think that “shaming speech” would be covered by the First Amendment.)
Host Alex Wagner summed it up by saying they were “shining a light.” But there is a side they always neglect to examine. As Meryl Streep once famously asked: “What about the children?”

Sidewalk counselors are “mob-like”?
I she confusing us with the pro-abort mob in the Texas statehouse?
And speaking of bullying: The young man who has been harassing our 40 Days vigil in Madison was arrested last week for disorderly behavior and threatening violence. He fled to a public business nearby when we called the police, but then he started to raise some ruckus there and they also summoned police.
Nope pc is the mob hands down…kill kill kill
Not to worry, MSNBC has lost audience share, and is a tiny shadow of its former self. If you want to speed the shrinkage of this leftist outlet and others, visit http://truthrevolt.org regularly.
Paying someone to kill our own child brings shame. It just does.
The “counselor”(abortion sales associate)at the mill I went to knew how to shame women.
She asked if I had a spouse, boyfriend, pastor, job, nice place to live and decent car.
I answered no to all of the above.
She asked, “What kind of mother would you make??”
Carla…thats just terrible.
And Carla ty for helping me to understand more about abortion. I was a PP patient for 14 years. I havent any horror stories to tell. Just got my shot and left. Never realized I was chemically aborting. This PP did not perform abortions….it was for birth control and paps..also breast exams. I only had one in 14 years. After I found Jills site I began to research abortion. I was borderline pc back then. Nothing happens by mistake so I cut my ties with PP for good and became PL.
But as a pastor pointed out ” They may not perform abortions but they direct people to their main death camp in Bedford OH. Home of actress Halle Berry. No surprise but Bedford is predominatly African American. Black genocide rings a bell!!!
Then along with Jills site I found Operation Rescue Klanned Parenthood Cemetery of Choice The Silent Scream…and many more. I began to educate myself on the horror going on in these places!
Carla – thanks for bringing up PP “counselors” into this discussion. There is absolutely no comparison to make when one considers their tactics to shame women into abortions. Pro-aborts don’t like when we speak the truth about PP but that is exactly what needs to be done.
Thanks again Carla.
I’m a little confused by your anecdote, Carla. Are you saying that only CPCs should be allowed to ask those questions?
Ummmm. Pretty sure it was the misogynist, condescending implication that Carla wouldn’t make a good mother that was the problem.
A CPC asks those questions in an attempt to find solutions. Abortion centers ask the same questions in an attempt to sell an abortion.
Amen Mary Ann!
Of course you are confused LisaC.
A CPC asks those questions in order to HELP women. For free.
The abortion sales associate asked those questions to induce my guilt and shame at not having ANY of the things that they deemed NECESSARY to be a good mother. And bless her heart, she closed the sale by asking, “Will that be Visa or Mastercard today?”
BAM!
Pretty sure it was the misogynist, condescending implication that Carla wouldn’t make a good mother that was the problem. A CPC asks those questions in an attempt to find solutions
Specifically, to find solutions to the shortage of adoptable infants by convincing women they wouldn’t make good mothers. At least, that’s according to the Family Research Council, which recommends that CPCs train counselors to “emphasize” “the long-term problems of parenting for those who are not prepared for parenthood.” For example, the FRC says, CPCS should “address the fact that women who keep babies they do not really want are much more likely to neglect or injure them” and distribute materials that “explain that women, too, suffer when they keep children they are not prepared to raise.”
Its an interesting read, which you will no doubt ignore.
And bless her heart, she closed the sale by asking, “Will that be Visa or Mastercard today?”
They expected you to pay for a service? Weird. Especially when you consider that adoption agencies just give babies away for free, give or take $18,000, according to Bethany Christian Services.
Dear LisaC,
Always change the subject. good job!
They got what they wanted. They succeeded. I believed the lies they told me. I believed every.single.one.
They got their $250.(Mastercard I think)
And I got a dead baby.
Next tell me that I am blaming the mill or that prolifers have made me feel guilty or that I need to OWN what I have done.
Go.
“address the fact that women who keep babies they do not really want are much more likely to neglect or injure them”
Why don’t you, Lisa, address the fact that children are abused in our country now more than ever. But what about the mantra the proaborts yell “every child a wanted child.”
How long will it take? Abortion has been legal for how long now? Shouldn’t every child be wanted after this many years?
Do you know the definition of insanity?
I posted yesterday at 12:42 pm and can still see “Click to Edit” and “Request Deletion” on my end but when I click into either one, I am not allowed to do either but am just told to “Please try again.” This has happened in the past and I’m just checking to see if what I can see is actually posting.
Maybe one of the mods can tell me what’s going on. Thanks.
I went into the “interesting read” that Lisa linked to. The introduction reads:
“In 1997, the Family Research Council conducted research to assess the effectiveness of pregnancy resource centers in helping women with unwanted pregnancies. The study asked a representative samples of American women how likely they would be to encourage a single, pregnant, young woman to consider each of the following four options:
• Getting an abortion;
• Marrying the baby’s father;
• Placing the child for adoption;
• Rearing the child by herself.”
I find it interesting that “Sharing custody with the father” or “Giving custody to the father” and “Giving custody to a family member(s)” were not given as options to be encouraged.
The mom should not have to either marry the father or raise the child alone. The father is equally responsible and may actually (gasp!) want to be involved. Many times family members will step up to the plate as well.
You’re there from yesterday. I think you’re computer has entered the Twilight Zone! ;)
Thanks Hans! I think you are right about my computer!
I’ve had such a thing happen with my computer before. It usually clears up for no good reason after a day or two.
Why don’t you, Lisa, address the fact that children are abused in our country now more than ever.
Maybe if you say “please.”
The mom should not have to either marry the father or raise the child alone.
You missed the point of the article, which is that the mom should give it to a more deserving family.
Next tell me that I am blaming the mill or that prolifers have made me feel guilty or that I need to OWN what I have done. Go.
Do you really live in a world where people do things simply because you order them to?
I don’t care whether or not you “own” your abortion. If you want to spend your life wallowing in victimhood, knock yourself out. But it’d be swell if you realized that “Carla needs the government to protect her from herself’ does not translate to “Women need the government to protect them from themselves.”
Lisa, Please address the fact that children are abused in our country now more than ever. Please exclude the children that are being murdered in their mother’s wombs daily and address those children who are being hurt in spite of your side’s mantra of “every child a wanted child.”
Babies need government to protect them from people like yourself, Lisa.
P.S. Articles can make more than one point.
You don’t care. Yes. I. Know.
Carry on.
You don’t care. Yes. I. Know.
Not about whether or not you “own” your abortion, no. You’re obviously deeply invested in been seen as a pitiable figure, and yes, you do have my pity.
Praxedes, the data actually suggest that child abuse has gone down in the past decade. I’m not an epidemiologist, so I couldn’t tell you why. Presumably it has to do with a decline in factors underlying child abuse, such as substance abuse. Those factors do not appear to include being pro-abortion rights, because some states both are anti-abortion and have high child abuse rates, such as Texas and Louisiana. Try Googling child abuse. You might learn something.
I don’t believe that an unwanted pregnancy is the sine qua non of child abuse. My grandparents abused their wanted children. Why? Because they were dysfunctional alcoholics. Nor can anyone who has the slightest familiarity with child labor history claim that society was inherently protective of children until Roe v. Wade came along.
My grandparents abused their wanted children. Why? Because they were dysfunctional alcoholics.
And this obviously trickled down the line to you because you now believe it is okay to kill unplanned children (every child is wanted by someone, btw). If you are not an alcoholic, what’s your excuse? Big Bully? Get some help and break the dysfunctional cycle for goodness sake and stop bullying people smaller than yourself.
Nor can anyone who has the slightest familiarity with child labor history claim that society was inherently protective of children until Roe v. Wade came along.
Yeah, defend child killing because some people used children for save labor. Witchy.
We need government to protect children from folks like you, Lisa.
and stop bullying people smaller than yourself.
Who, Carla? Treating an adult like an adult is not bullying, even if she does have two X chromosomes. Really.
Yeah, defend child killing because some people used children for save labor.
Actually, I was responding to your express request to Please address the fact that children are abused in our country now more than ever. Please exclude the children that are being murdered in their mother’s wombs daily. I guess your brain seized up when I used the word ‘data.’ My mistake.
Witchy.
Word.
Presumably it has to do with a decline in factors underlying child abuse, such as substance abuse.
Key word is presumably. Don’t presume anything. It’s kinda like assuming. Any counselor worth their weight will tell you that one does not necessarily go hand in hand with the other.
There are those who drink to excess and abuse their children.
There are those who don’t drink to excess but abuse their children.
There are those who drink to excess but don’t abuse their children.
It sounds like your grandparents were both abusive and alcoholic. It doesn’t sound like your parent broke the cycle.
The underlying factor in becoming a child abuser is being raised by one. Abortion is the ultimate child abuse and our country is becoming more abusive towards children because of legalized abortion. Common sense.
Google. Schmoogle. Google can tell me that there are aliens under the sea. You are just being silly, Lis.
It doesn’t sound like your parent broke the cycle.
That is an erroneous supposition on your part. Big surprise.
Common sense.
Tautological argument. (Look it up.)
Google. Schmoogle. Google can tell me that there are aliens under the sea. You are just being silly, Lis.
I applaud your recognition of your (deep) information illiteracy. But the solution to ignorance is to learn how to find and use information, not to make things up because they sound good.
There is help for you to break the abuse cycle, Lis.
Google it. (:
Hey Prax,
Cranium gave me a tip about emoticons a few years back. You have to space at least twice. Oh, and it’s eyes first, then smile or frown. Otherwise, it looks like you’re smiling while standing on your head! :)
Dang it, Hans. I should have just googled it!! :)
