Pro-life video of the day: “Mom Baby God” – a satire of pro-lifers

The one-woman play “Mom Baby God,” written and performed by Madeline Burrows, is touted to be a “shocking look” at the pro-life movement based on her experiences observing conferences, fundraisers, and rallies. Audience members are given name tags as if they were attending a conference, and seven different characters parody speakers on topics such as abstinence-only education.
During a Q & A after one performance, Burrows said of pro-lifers: “One thing that really struck me was, they are really well-organized, really vocal, and really unapologetic.”
Kristan Hawkins, president of Students For Life of America, noted in a review that Ms. Burrows’ undercover research didn’t hold a candle to what pro-lifers - herself included – have uncovered about the abortion industry.
She concluded:
Some have asked if I’m upset by the creation of the play – that couldn’t be further from the truth. It’s an honor to know that seeing 2,000-plus young people at the largest pro-life conference in America is cause for great concern for pro-abortion advocates. They should be worried.
Students for Life has helped start over 600 pro-life student groups in the last seven years, and we are currently working with over 760 active groups across the nation. No pro-abortion organization comes close in size to our grassroots momentum. All of the polling data is on our side. Technology is on our side.
We know this is the pro-life generation. They can try to mock us all they want, but the facts won’t change.

I didn’t even have to turn the sound on when I watched the trailer. That just looks stupid and obnoxious. I’m really not sure who the target audience is supposed to be. Maybe I’m giving them too much credit, but I doubt even pro-choicers would find that either convincing or entertaining. Save your money and get yourself a subscription to MAD.

And your side is not. Because history proves that killing humans has always been really messy, really hushed, and really regretful.

Gee, I thought prolifers were just a tiny bunch of women-hating, inconsequential nuts? If they are making a whole play centered around ridiculing us, we must be doing something right.
I hope Madeline gets her wish. I hope her show goes on the road and “brings on the conversation.”
We also have the goal of urging more people to talk about the affects of abortion in our culture.

When your mock stage-production is worse than the real pro-life stage production, you’ve got fail.
If pro-aborts are mocking pro-lifers, you know you can take your kids to it. It’s a sure thing there won’t be any vagina puppets and penis costumes.
I found the thing where it lists the consequences of sex to be amusing, because all those things CAN be consequences of indiscriminate sexual activity. Maybe not like every time or for everyone, and some of those things may not be okay, but they certainly happen. They think that it bolsters their case to mock us with… factual information? Lol.
This looks funny, but not in an intentional way.

Wow, such EDGY music. I can see how it would speak to the young generation. And doing that church lady voice! How ORIGINAL! Really makes pro-lifers seem unhip and old-fashioned. I
can why the young’uns would want to run around pushing abortion after watching this comic GENIUS.

What’s next? A play called, “My Big Fat Greek Abortion?” The “Greek Wedding” movie, one of my favorite movies, started out as a one-woman show.

If we were to make a play like this mocking the pro-aborts — doing what they do and saying what they say — I would give it the three-word title of ANGRY BITTER LOUD.
Then re-enact the usual slogan-shouting, some gems from Nancy Pelosi (“Sacred Ground” – Ha!) and Wendy Davis’s filibuster, and the behavior of the Texas statehouse rioters. Oh, and some dancing vaginas and a few topless protesters covered with Magic Marker writing.
I can’t figure out a way to mock pro-aborts’ behavior, as it is already so outrageous. It would be more entertaining to make an honest documentary. Three-word title: THEY LIKE ABORTION.
Well Del, THEY LIKE ABORTION wouldn’t be apt for an honest documentary. No one ‘likes’ abortion any more than they ‘like’ having a tooth pulled.
A more accurate title for an honest documentary would be THEY LIKE FREEDOM, or perhaps THEY LIKE CHOICE.
Apart from which, being pro-choice doesn’t necessarily mean someone is pro-abortion. I think people should be free to do certain things which I would never dream of doing myself because I don’t consider them appropriate things to do.
From watching the trailer, it looks like Ms. Burrows selectively choose specific aspects of the pro-life movement to paint a one-sided picture, and wrapped it up into one big stereotyping parody. I imagine her intended audience is other activists with the same political views in a large echo chamber.

Ultrasounds and other imaging technology are only going to help everyone see the humanity in developing PEOPLE. All PEOPLE deserve their own lives. No one has the “right” to murder a smaller or weaker PERSON.

What is WRONG with NEW YORK!? This place used to be a harsh but useful sanctuary, now it just seams like a dumping place for spoiled trust fund babies looking to get recognition for making truly bad art in the name of establishing some fanatical political point, only those truly disenfranchised from reality can relate to in their pretense. I may be wrong, but I don’t see something like this happening in Los Angeles, and I don’t know why, but it’s just not set up to serve the luxury of such bigotries in the same fashion as many east coast establishments, now seam to be undertaking, or maybe because there are so many practicing Catholics in L.A. this kind of open hatred, which this is, would not be touched with a 40 foot pole by any member of a Church? IDK, this just seams typical of what I have seen N.Y.C. doing to itself in the past ten years, which is basically self-destructing.
