While some news magazines are known for making endorsements, it’s quite unusual for a more specialized medium to do so. One wouldn’t expect Popular Mechanics or Cat Fancy to get into the political fray. But Cosmopolitan has recently launched #CosmoVotes to do just that for the midterm elections. They will push for candidates who  support a strictly leftist slant on”women’s issues” such as unfettered access to abortion and birth control.

When Townhall editor and commentator Guy Benson wondered if Cosmo’s editors were serving their readers, NARAL used this as an example of sexism for a fundraising email.

But does Benson have a point? After all, isn’t a cosmopolitan one who is “free from local, provincial, or national ideas, prejudices, or attachments; at home all over the world?” Would excluding half the readers meet that definition? Here was the discussion on Fox News’ Outnumbered:
