Pro-life vid of day: Mom with Alzheimer’s remembers daughter
by Hans Johnson
Kelly Gunderson of Atlanta videotaped herself lying beside her 87-year-old mother, who has Alzheimer’s. She captured a precious flash of lucidity, which she calls “God’s Gift”:
God gave me a moment with my mother remembering who I was. Even if just for a moment. Plus I am an identical twin, which makes it even more special.

This is so precious!
My grandfather had Alzheimers; it’s a horrible disease that steals people away long before death comes for them. He passed last year just before Thanksgiving. At the end he was hardly even conscious, but while he was in hospice care he also had occasional flashes of lucidity–I remember once he lit up like a little boy and told me all about his twin-engine Cessna, and his days flying with the USAF, and some great stunts he witnessed at airshows in the past. I’ll always treasure the memory of those moments!
