Updated list: vaccines using aborted fetal cell lines
Children of God for Life, an associate of American Life League that has Fr. Tom Euteneuer and Judie Brown on its board, has released an updated list of vaccines using aborted fetal cell lines and their ethical counterparts. You can download a pdf copy to print here. Click to enlarge:

Over the years I’ve grown increasingly wary of them, in fact, since they are potentially linked to neurological disorders like autism and rheumatoid arthritis. Parents should conduct their own research.
On that topic, Cogforlife reports the latest development on a strange situation I’ve been tracking, wherein the Diocese of Austin, TX, not only disallows religious exemptions for vaccinations – although public schools do, and it is apparently mandated by law for both – it has become the only diocese in the U.S. to disallow a medical exemption.
That development is that the USDA, in an unprecedented move, has opened a formal investigation against the diocese. Read about it here and watch a news report on the student and parents who filed the complaint here.

Um…there isn’t much to be done about this, though, is there? You can’t generally just refuse to get them. Immunizations are required for elementary school and for college. Well, I suppose you can, but it can be awfully dangerous. At the very least you could consider it like an organ transplant. Something had to die, but many people will be able to benefit from it.

That’s probably why people who can talk in complete sentences without using the “F” word every five seconds come to pro-life blogs.
Man, judging people by their vocabulary is kind of shallow, don’t you think? I don’t curse on this blog because I know that it isn’t appropriate. In my day to day life, I curse like a regular sailor. Using strong language is a tactic just as much as using intellectual arguments. Cursing inspires emotions. It has it’s place same as everything else.
Erin, in Texas parents can refuse to have their children vaccinated. I assume the same can be said for at least some other states. Whether doing so is dangerous is up for debate.
Anyone who would risk their child’s life and health in order to honor a dead fetus is a bad mother.

I don’t think it is illegal to refuse vaccination in any state (I could be wrong). There has been a lot of talk about vaccinations being responsible for autism so i’m waiting until my daughter is much older. There is one vaccination(Rubella, I think) that they got from a baby that was aborted so I will never use that one.
From what I’ve read, and considering the number of vaccines that are done a year in this country and around the world and how long vaccines have been around, I think the whole vaccine causing autism thing is crap. I’ve been asking friends I have in Europe about whether they have so much trouble with autism, and they say they don’t.
I wonder if autism is the new ADD and that doctors are diagnosing children with autistic spectrum disorders just based on the fact that some kids are not very social and/or do not socialize well or are just “odd”. I’ve always said, that if I were born much more recently and I am still the same sort of person that I am now, I have no doubt in my mind that I would have been diagnosed with mild Asperger’s.
I don’t think there’s anything wrong with being cautious though.
Yes, there is nothing wrong with being cautious and getting vaccinated so that you don’t DIE of diseases like Polio, measles, diphtheria, tetanus, etc. Autism isn’t fatal.
Now I’m not saying autism isn’t serious, it is…I just don’t think vaccines are even a big reason for autism. However, I have no problem with vaccines being developed without Thimerosol (the ingredient that is thought to “cause” autism).
Anyway, I have had every single vaccine up there except the “in development” vaccines as well as shingles, rheumatoid arthritis and rabies vaccines.
Rosie, I agree. I don’t see anything wrong with being cautious either, especially with all of the horrible stuff in vaccines. I don’t think injecting my child with poison (formaldehyde, mercury, etc) is going to do anything but lessen his or her immunity, despite what many doctors do say. I’ve read enough to know that not all doctors do agree on this.
But that’s just my opinion, and I don’t object to others giving their children vaccines, as long as I always have the right to choose not to vaccinate mine.
