Bishop Tobin won’t attend inauguration of pro-choice governor

by Carder Over the weekend I did receive a formal written invitation to the Inauguration, the courtesy of which I appreciated. However, as previously announced I will be offering Holy Mass at the Cathedral at that same time to ask for God’s blessings upon our state and nation and our public servants. I should add, […]

Pope Francis: Large families are great!

by Carder The fact of having brothers and sisters is good for you…. The sons and daughters of large families are more inclined to fraternal communion from early childhood. In a world that is frequently marred by selfishness, a large family is a school of solidarity and sharing; and these attitudes are of benefit to […]

Chicago archbishop won’t deny communion to pro-choice pols

by Carder I would not use the Eucharist or as they call it the communion rail as the place to have those discussions or way in which people would be either excluded from the life of the church. The Eucharist is an opportunity of grace and conversion. It’s also a time of forgiveness of sins. […]

Dear Pastor: Why decry human trafficking but ignore abortion?

by Kelli We need to ask ourselves why we are openly boasting of our efforts to end human trafficking while remaining mute on the issue of abortion. Are we attacking human trafficking because we are broadly opposed to those who would deny the humanity of the people they wish to treat as commodities? Or are […]

Catholic St. Norbert College to invite pro-abort Gloria Steinem on campus

by Carder It’s so wrong and scandalous. Especially at a Catholic campus… Because Gloria Steinem is like Margaret Sanger. Or even worse. She boasted about her own abortion, saying: “it felt positive.” On another occasion, she said: “There is no organization in this country or the world that is more important than Planned Parenthood.” (NJ.com, […]

Churches file federal complaint to stop CA from forcing abortion insurance coverage

Central-Baptist-HattiesburgDuring U.S. Supreme Court arguments on the Hobby Lobby case, liberals mocked Justice Kennedy for asking the Obama administration’s lawyer whether its contraception mandate could also force for-profit companies to cover abortions in their insurance policies.

Only five months later liberals have taken this to the unimaginable extreme: On August 22, the California Department of Managed Health Care announced that all employers offering health insurance – not just for-profit but also nonprofit, religious institutions, and churches – had to provide coverage for all elective abortions.

NOLA Episcopal priest welcomes Planned Parenthood

by Kelli I write to express my support for the right of the clinic to be there and to serve the reproductive needs of our community…. I also write to make clear that there are many Christians, Christian denominations and many other people of faith who support the reproductive rights of women…. I am very […]

Archbishop of NY soft on pro-abortion politicians receiving Holy Communion

by Carder The Archbishop of New York says that the issue of pro-abortion Catholic politicians committing sacrilege, not to mention the sacrilege being participated in by those giving them Holy Communion, is “in the past.” That’s such an arrogant statement it takes your breath away. First of all, it is a direct contradiction of Canon […]
