Yet another catholic charity working with a pro-abortion organization

by Carder

caritasThis is a very serious problem. Given how intimately connected the World Social Forum has been with the promotion of communism, abortion, and homosexuality since the very beginning, it’s impossible to see how any Catholic can participate in it, or even speak positively about it, let alone have any involvement in its governance.

But Caritas Internationalis does!

Stanek Sunday Word: “Love your neighbor as yourself”

touching-baby-bumpJesus replied, “The most important commandment is this: ‘Listen, O Israel! The Lord our God is the one and only Lord. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’

The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

No other commandment is greater than these.”

Pro-life blog buzz 5-29-15

pro-lifeby Susie Allen, host of the blog, Pro-Life in TN

  • Over at National Review, Dr. Michael New explains why it is too early for social liberals to be doing a victory dance over a new Gallup poll showing those reporting to be liberal equal to social conservatives:

Last year, social conservatives outpolled social liberals by a 34-30 margin. This year, it was a 31-31 split. This represents a relatively small change that could have been caused by a slight bias in the sample.

While the effects of an onslaught of  positive media attention to same sex marriage, seems to have successful in moving  public opinion to  the liberal category, that does not appear to be the case  with the life issues.

Opposition to abortion and pornography has held relatively constant, and a smaller percentage of Americans now find physician-assisted suicide morally acceptable.

  • Secular Pro Life commends an Australian mother who fought to obtain a birth certificate for her stillborn child lost in the second trimester. Her campaign was discussed in this Perth Now article, which actually showed a picture of her deceased child, named Blake.  Imagine American outlets showing this.
  • Pro Life 365 has a thought -provoking post listing “11 ways the sexual revolution enslaved women,” including the introduction of contraception, rejecting motherhood, and seeing children as commodities for adult gratification.
  • A Pro Life Blogs post discusses documents obtained that show the true state of affairs for Ohio abortion facilities.  It’s a safe bet that Ohio is not an anomaly:

Operation Rescue has released a new special investigative report detailing deteriorating conditions and horrific injuries at Ohio’s eight remaining abortion facilities.

The report is based on secret records from the Ohio Department of Health that have never before been made public, that show that at least 47 abortion-related medical emergencies or complications took place at the eight abortion clinics since 2011, including the abortion-related death of a 22-year-old African-American woman named Lakisha Wilson.

The documents also detail an alarming laundry list of life-threatening safety hazards at those same abortion facilities.

Pro-life vid of day: Dana Loesch dismantles liberal media’s now infamous “cool” invasive ultrasound misquote of Scott Walker

by Jill

Over the last few days left wing “news” outlets – the the help of Planned Parenthood – have glaringly misappropriated Wisconsin Gov. and pro-life GOP presidential candidate Scott’s Walker’s innocent comment that ultrasound images of preborn babies are “cool” as thumbs-up support of mandatory transvaginal ultrasounds.

Caleb Howe at Red State picked up the story from there:

“Walker Derangement Syndrome’ is absolutely correct. The left and the media (standard “but I repeat myself” joke goes here) will relentlessly latch onto stories that they think paint Republicans as monsters, particularly if it can be used as a demographic wedge. Republicans hate minorities. Republicans hate immigrants. Republicans hate gays. Republicans hate abortion. Well . that last one is actually true, for the most part. And the way it spreads is utterly predictable. For this so-called scandal, and future ones, Dana Loesch mapped out the anatomy on her Blaze TV show Thursday.,.

Irish voted for gay marriage… legal abortion next?

Irish ShieldSo where to next for Ireland? The progressive elite already have their next target in sight - the repeal of the eighth amendment to the Constitution, which guarantees the right to life of the unborn.

While the effectiveness of this amendment is compromised due to the 1992 Supreme Court decision in the “X case,” it is still the only thing that stands in the way of European-style abortion on demand in Ireland. Groups like the Pro Life Campaign are now preparing for a fresh assault from the pro-abortion movement on the right to life, even within the next 12 months.

Irish Catholics stood alone to fight against homosexual “marriage” in the face of overwhelming U.S. funding for their opposition. Will the same happen when the next abortion referendum comes around?

Pro-life video of the day: Subtle pro-life song

by Hans Johnson

While some songs leave the public arguing as to their meaning for many decades (case in point: American Pie), some seem obvious but have a hidden message unrealized by most. Dan Wilson, the lead singer of the rock group Semisonic, wanted to write a tribute song for the child he was expecting with wife Diane. Rather than have his bandmates have to participate in repeated performances of a song having personal meaning to him, he hid the message in plain sight in the song and video Closing Time.

Wilson revealed this at his recent 25th Harvard reunion, Rather than exiting a bar, it was about exiting the womb. Among the lyrics:

Closing time

Time for you to go out to the places you will be from.

Closing time

This room won’t be open ’til your brothers or your sisters come.

Pro-choicer on CA law: Don’t make pregnancy centers refer for abortion

nolanbrownby Kelli

To be clear, some crisis pregnancy centers can be shady. They have been known to misleadingly portray themselves as full-service women’s health clinics, or to obscure religious affiliations. They may offer discredited info on things like “the link between abortion and depression,” or engage in what some describe as bullying or pressuring women into carrying pregnancies to term.

But the state really shouldn’t be in the business of deciding what completely non-criminal information a private operation may make available. And many businesses and non-profits have owners with religious beliefs that they don’t necessarily broadcast. In other words, you may condemn these pregnancy centers’ tactics or views, but they’re not de facto doing anything illegal. What’s more, they may doing some good: Despite not offering contraception or abortion advice, the centers do offer things like free pregnancy tests, screenings for sexually transmitted infections, ultrasounds, and baby clothes.

If particular centers are engaging in deceptive or fraudulent practices, then by all means, go after them for that. But the point should be making them be honest about what they are, not trying to turn them into something they’re not.

~ Pro-choicer Elizabeth Nolan Brown (pictured), voicing her objections to California’s Reproductive FACT Act, which “would require pregnancy centers to post notices saying that reproductive health services, including abortion, are available to pregnant women in the state,” Reason.com, May 27
