Yet another catholic charity working with a pro-abortion organization
by Carder
This is a very serious problem. Given how intimately connected the World Social Forum has been with the promotion of communism, abortion, and homosexuality since the very beginning, it’s impossible to see how any Catholic can participate in it, or even speak positively about it, let alone have any involvement in its governance.
But Caritas Internationalis does!
~ Michael Hichborn, host of American Life League’s ALL Report, reporting on the conflict of interest between the Catholic charity group, Caritas Internationalis, and its involvement with the pro-abortion, pro-communist activist organization, World Social Forum, via The American Catholic, May 28
I don’t know these particular organizations, but the problem is epidemic.
Charitable Christian organizations partner with government. We take grants, accept the rules of tax-exempt status, etc., in the hope of doing good works for the poor and the culture.
But — as Pope Paul VI warned us in Humanae vitae — when the culture embraces contraception, soon enough the government feels entitled to interfere in family matters regarding reproduction.
And so we find ourselves entangled together…. the contracepting Christians and our coercive governments…. making a pretense of charitable works within a Culture of Death.

the government feels entitled to interfere in family matters regarding reproduction. – no, the government does not intervene or mandate in family matters regarding reproduction. That’s what people like you try to do.
They are charitable works, no pretense about it.

I heard the accusation but what is the evidence that this organization participates in, supports or sponsors abortion?

There is no such evidence. The World Social Forum is an annual meeting, not an organization. It has no mechanism for establishing principles or positions that apply to the entire body, and explicitly states that no individual or organization has the power to speak on the entire forum’s behalf. So I agree with Hichborn: it’s impossible to see how any Catholic can…have any involvement in its governance because it has no “governance” as “governance” is typically understood.

“Reality” sez: “the government feels entitled to interfere in family matters regarding reproduction. – no, the government does not intervene or mandate in family matters regarding reproduction. That’s what people like you try to do.

Along with being anti-science, “Reality” does not know much of the history of our government striving to manage the fertility of the US population, that of Native Americans, and of foreign countries. This is a major area of foreign policy vastly greater than its general awareness.
Why? Because everyday people would object, if they knew about it.
There are tons of information!. Anyone can enter these terms in a search engine, and begin exploring: “Jaffe Memo,” or “NSSM 200.”
Or, anyone is free to review the acknowledged government consultation of this demographer, who is far from the only government consultant on how the government might manage our family choices and decisions:
http://www.populationassociation.org/sidebar/paa-fund-campaign/honored-members/donald-j-bogue/
“During the 1960s and continuing through the 1980s, when demographers increasingly focused on high fertility and population growth, Dr. Bogue was a consultant to key U.S. government, foundation, and international committees on population problems, family planning programs, and fertility research. He led the health and social sciences as a tireless advocate for family planning to reduce fertility and rapid population growth.
Or, anyone is free to browse the wikileaks documents on Henry Kissinger, where it becomes clear that he, on behalf of the United States, strove to tie foreign aid to population control goals for many nations; in other words, get your citizens to have fewer babies and the US will provide money…

It is factually far from correct, historically, to claim that the US has not been meddling in private affairs of the family, such as how many children two parents might decide to have.
In contrast, they have been at this very actively. They just forgot to teach us this in high school.

Mostly, I was thinking about the HHS Mandate, the subsidies to Planned Parenthood, and the aggressive contraception/abortion pressure we apply to African nations.
