Pro-choicer: Pro-lifers are not motivated by misogyny

war-on-womenby Kelli

I’m a pro-choice individual who actually acknowledges that those who disagree with me are not raging, full blown misogynists. What’s my reasoning you might ask? I’m happy to oblige.

First and foremost, I don’t buy the idea that people who are pro-life hold that position because they seek to control women’s bodies. This is a myth perpetuated by many Democrats as part of the “War on Women.” To attack the pro-life position as a “War on Women” is to completely ignore the much more widely cited reason for being pro-life, which is concern that fetus’s [sic] being aborted are in fact alive and sentient….

Stanek Sunday funnies, “Stupid American voters” edition

At last count there had been six videotapes unearthed of Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber blabbing that the massive healthcare bomb passed only due to “lack of transparency” on the part of the Obama administration and Democrats, in conjunction with “the stupidity of the American voter.”

Needless to say, political cartoonists had a field day with these revelations. In honor of those six videos, I’ve chosen six of their best lampoons. Be sure to vote for your favorite in the poll at the bottom of this post!

Deceptive Obamacare architect also behind “Freakonomics” abortion stats

Gruber published a paper during the Clinton administration observing that legalizing abortion saved the government $14 billion in assistance to economically disadvantaged mothers, including African-Americans, and lowered crime. Gruber argued in his paper that without the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision, “marginal children” would have been born to many poor mothers. He said statistics show […]

House Democrats refuse to let pregnant double-amputee congresswoman vote from home

XXX DNC-HDB1504.JPG A USA NCHT to The Daily Caller for my title. From that piece:

House Democrats are refusing to allow Rep. Tammy Duckworth, a double-amputee veteran, to cast her vote for party leadership from her home in Illinois where she is pregnant and unable to travel.

Duckworth, who lost both legs when her helicopter was shot down in the Iraq War in 2004, sent a letter to Democratic House leadership requesting to cast her vote by proxy, National Journal reports.

GOP-controlled Senate “trouble for reproductive rights”?

by Carder A Republican-controlled Senate with McConnell as majority leader could spell serious trouble for reproductive rights. McConnell has been vocal in his support for a national 20-week abortion ban, which he is likely to try to bring to the floor for a vote. Democrats would probably filibuster such a bill, and President Obama would […]

Goldberg: The “war on women” is over, and women won

by Kelli

waronwomen

To listen to pretty much anyone in the Democratic Party these days, you’d think these are dark days for women. But by any objective measure, things have been going great for women for a long time, under Republicans and Democrats alike.

Women earn 57% of bachelor’s degrees, 63% of master’s degrees and 53% of doctorates. They constitute the majority of the U.S. workforce and the majority of managers. Single women without kids earn 8% more than single men without children in most cities. Women make up almost half of medical school applicants and nearly 80% of veterinary school enrollees.

Obama uses the “Chicago Way” to illegally force taxpayers to fund abortion

chicago wayFour of Illinois’ last seven governors ended up in prison for corruption convictions ranging from bribery to racketeering.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg in the state ironically known as the Land of Lincoln.

I doubt people truly grasped the meaning of the Chicago Way when they joked back in 2008 that Chicago politician Barack Obama took it with him to the White House.

But there are now plenty of examples of a lawless president who lets nothing stand between him and his agenda, which includes destroying political opponents and foes alike.

“Pro-choice”: When a euphemism becomes a euphemism

Pro-choice euphemism for pro-abortion

In January 2013 came news that shocked both sides of the abortion debate: Planned Parenthood had determined the term “pro-choice” was no longer helpful and recommended abandoning it.

This news really was titanic. “Pro-choice” was the abortion movement’s self-chosen descriptive term for over 40 years. To abandon it was to abandon an identity, surely unnerving to activists on the street, who found cover and solace in the euphemism.
