• Wesley J. Smith responds to an article in The Atlantic, which blames one million missing black voters on a higher mortality rate among the black population. Smith reminds them of another reason:
  

  But if you really want to find the source of missing African-American voters, it is estimated that more than 10 million African-American babies weren’t born because of abortion. If you really want to find missing black voters, that’s where I think the finger should be pointed. Because of Roe v. Wade, and what some believe to be the targeting of African-Americans by the abortion industry, there are millions of black voters who never had a chance to cast a ballot.

On January 13, Republican Senator John Cornyn introduced the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act of 2015, legislation that would “create a federal fund for victims’ services and law enforcement tools financed by fines levied on convicted traffickers,” as U.S. News & World Report succinctly described it.

• At Women’s Rights without Frontiers, Reggie Littlejohn shines a light on another problem in China – baby trafficking. 37 babies were recently rescued from a baby-selling ring:
  

  According to CNN, human traffickers were recruiting pregnant women in the area willing to sell their babies and hid them in the factory until they gave birth. Then, after the women had their babies, they gave the newborns over to the traffickers and left.

  A Chinese police official, Chen Shiqu, said that the incident is a “new criminal pattern” in which child traffickers take pregnant women to a specific place to give birth. Currently, police have 103 people in custody who are suspected of selling or buying children.

March 22 will mark two months since the House was supposed to vote on the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act but didn’t.

All agree the word “debacle” would aptly describe the chain of events surrounding the GOP leadership’s last-minute decision to pull the 20-week abortion ban.

The first object of my wrath was one of the debacle’s ringleaders, Rep. Renee Ellmers, whose locked office I and others protested the day the glorious vote had been scheduled – January 22, the anniversary of Roe v Wade….

• This week a Planned Parenthood in California received a package with their address as the return address after the postal service was unable to deliver the package to an address in Georgia. Some employees were suspicious of the package so they called in the bomb squad:
  

  Inside the package was about four pounds of marijuana, baby diapers and a thank you card….

  The card wasn’t written on in the inside, but was left blank with a generic greeting….

• American Life League’s Judie Brown contrasts the indifference toward the slaughter of 3,000 humans daily by abortion in America to the outcry over the euthanasia of an Ebola patient’s dog in Spain. Brown is a dog lover, but even she was shocked at the huge response to save the life of one animal:
  

  Here is the first sentence of a news report that came to my attention recently: “With more than 3,400 people dead in west Africa and 7,500 infected in the latest Ebola outbreak, 300,000 people sign a petition demanding action… to save an infected dog.” This was twice as many people as those who signed a petition demanding a cure be found for the deadly virus….

  As it turns out, the dog was “put down” Wednesday by Madrid’s regional government. But the fact of the matter is that the plight of this one pet generated more interest and involvement than a single preborn child threatened and then killed by the act of abortion.

  There is something dramatically wrong with this picture.
